B R E AD H E AD C OOP ER AT IV E BAKERY Welcome to Bread Head, our mission is to enrich lives by providing a space for creativity. We are an independent, community operated and worker owned bakery specializing in organically grown and 100% natural ingredients. Our bakery was born from the counter-culture movement of the 1960’s and was founded in 1974. Bread Head is for the bread-heads. Here at Bread Head, we believe that some of the best baked goods are made using labor intensive processes, which include hand-shaping and baking on a hearth stone. We also believe in experimentation and providing a warm, comfortable, and creative atmosphere for both patrons and aspiring bakers. We place high importance in building and nurturing our local community. Bring a book, mixtape, record, drawing, painting, or poem and exchange it for another in our library. Need a warm space to work on your bicycle while enjoying a pot of hot tea? Bring it in to our garage. Need a place to share your music with more people, come on in. Need some space to grow your own food? Grab a plot of land in our backyard garden. We emphasize regaining our lost connection with food and mindful eating. This idea stems from our counter-culture roots and going back to the land. We strive to inform our customers where every one of our ingredients come from. Our bread is wholesome and healthy – we are grateful we can continue to share our bread and a space with our community. All are welcome.
