In all cases, according to the report, the gods come through, and a bedsheet appears below to catch the unharmed baby.

Government in Action More federal civilian employees have “arrest and firearms authority” than the total number of active-duty U.S. Marines, according to a June report by the organization Open The Books, which claims to have tallied line-byline expenditures across the government. Several agencies (including the IRS and EPA) purchase assault weapons and other military-grade equipment (camouflage, night-vision goggles, 30-round magazines) for their agents, and even the Small Business Administration, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Department of Education buy their agents’ guns and ammo.

STATE DOL CHANGES Area chambers of commerce have been notified of two mandatory poster changes by the California Chamber of Commerce that the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). As of Aug. 1, 2016, employers must post updated versions of the Federal Minimum Wage poster and the Federal Employee Polygraph Protection Act poster. “The DOL made these changes at the end of July, allowing little time for employers to comply before the Aug. 1 deadline,” said Vista Chamber of Commerce CEO Bret Schanzenbach. The Vista Chamber is ordering posters in August to help bring its member businesses into compliance. If you would like to order one, they are $27 each and are available in English or Spanish.
