Cogar Manufacturing of Beckley, WV an-
nounces the development of its new ultra lowvein feeder/ tail piece combination. The unit is designed to handle the discharge of shuttle cars or battery haulage without the stop-start sequence when unloading the haulage equipment. This increases section production as the haulage equipment can discharge more rapidly. It should also decrease maintenance on the discharge conveyor of shuttle cars and the hydraulics of battery equipment haulage.

The Cogar unit will also shorten the time required for belt moves. The wheel mounted feeder is designed to be moved by a scoop with the feeder and the belt tail piece being placed at the same time. Hydraulic anchor jacks are engaged to lock the feeder and belt tail piece in place. Additional hydraulic cylinders can move the tail piece to aid in belt alignment. For moving, the wheels are lowered by hydraulic jacks.
The feeder is designed with a variable speed conveyor system which can be fine tuned to match your conveyor capacity and help eliminate spillage. The frame is of heavy duty construction with the conveyor deck lined with special carbon chromium overlay plating for extended life. It can be equipped with several types of heavy duty conveyor chain and flight combinations including Cogar’s lug style chain with solid 2” by 6” solid alloy flight bars.
The tail piece features a self cleaning tail roller and a graduated bed plate to transition the belt from the tail roller to the proper trough angle to match various conveyor structures. This unit is designed with the simplicity and dependability of other Cogar feeders. It should allow mines operating ” in-seam” operations to operate more efficiently. The feeder/tail piece is available in units as low as 28”.
