Who is Coach Cam? Hey, y’all, I’m Cameron Campbell — known as “Coach Cam” for my work with the Houston Texans, USA Football, and KIPP Houston High School — and with your support, I’ll be “going to state” as the representative for HD 132. I am dedicated to bettering the communities of Katy and Cypress through human networks that are vast and ever-growing. My background includes: Current Houston Texans Play Safe Coach Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle award winner Former high school head football coach and athletic director Author of Alpha: Redefined, 12 Servant Leadership Principles of Legendary Leaders Cy-Fair ISD graduate. At the center of my personal and professional life is character. Ask any of my teammates, players, employees, business associates, or campaign staff about my ideas on accountability. Toughness – an iron will applied to development of myself, my family, my construction business, and the communities I serve – constitutes my #GridironGrit. Surrounding that core is compassion, a drive for diversity, and an understanding of the need for economic empowerment for all.

05

Coach Cam's Game Plan As you’ve already learned, our campaign for HD 132 uses some football metaphors. That works for most folks in Texas. There’ll be plenty of plain talk, too. But for now, buckle up your chin straps and get ready for my Game Plan, including these three plays:

06

STEM 2.0

STEM – the acronym used in education to encompass the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math – must be re-envisioned and updated to STEM 2.0. This advance will better develop our students into entrepreneurs, business owners, and workers with even higher value. We will explicitly and intently contextualize STEM education within Entrepreneurship so that students are prepared to contribute to the economy and benefit from those contributions in ways that drive individual and collective prosperity in HD 132.

07

Go BIG

In the true Texas spirit of doing things bigger and better than everywhere else, we will implement our BIG (Business Innovation Grants) program. Our vision for innovation in HD 132 centers on the small businesses that we love. Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 will apply exclusively to innovations, such as converting paper-heavy businesses to more digital processes and helping laundromats switch to ecofriendly products, in both cases improving the enterprises’ efficiency and reducing their carbon footprint.

08

Advocate for Access

This program focuses on empowering marginalized populations, such as people with cognitive disabilities, physical handicaps, or those who face discrimination on the basis of race or gender identity. Allowing them access to opportunity recognizes their human dignity, which in turn strengthens the moral standing of the dominant/mainstream culture. It is simply the right thing to do. In addition, expanding social and economic opportunities to all groups and individuals benefits HD 132 as a whole by creating a stronger social fabric and attractiveness to businesses that further fuel our prosperity.

Coach Cam's Chronology: Victories, Videos, and Values Soon after his primary victory, Coach Cam became a video sensation as you can see in the coverage of Beto O'Rourke on the opposite page.

May was a MF. In response to the mass shootings in Uvalde and Buffalo, as well as the SCOTUS leak on Roe v. Wade, Coach Cam shared his values in poignant statements mixing

#GridironGrit and his characteristic compassion.

Social Media Posts June Brought Us Pride and Joy.

24

What Pride Means to Me

On this campaign, ‘Pride’ doesn't mean just slapping the

rainbow on my social media. It means I am proud of my

brother-now-sister for recently completing the transition

outside into the person she has always been inside, Kaya Michelle Campbell.

Juneteenth Freedom

As we prepare weekend movie nights, kickbacks, cookouts, and soul food throw-downs in honor of Juneteenth; let's

remain safe, happy, and joyous. May we not only celebrate

freedom, but remember the toil and sacrifice our ancestors

made for us to enjoy the country they built, and the beauty in it. But also... don't forget to save me a plate!
