Central Board Elections 2009-2010: Electoral Form PLATFORM

National Situationer: Anticipating Change Each year we face different issues. We face different challenges. As part of the council, we have our part to play in engaging our country based on the core competencies of the organizations. There should be a National Situationer at the end of each school year. This Nat-Sit Conference will highlight the milestones of the past year as well as give insights to the organizations/students on how they can help address national concerns. Simply put, this conference will give a framework for the upcoming organization leaders to establish their direction for the upcoming school; and direct their core competency towards effective nation building. Cluster Specific PMS Each organization has their own way of thinking, of doing things, and of evaluating things – each has their own nable the PMS to adapt to each cluster’s structure and culture. Their inputs, along with FGDs with the organizations leaders, will be used to propose a cluster specific PMS to OSA. This initiative will address, to some degree, the difficulty of setting a common standard for all organizations regardless of individuality. Mid-year and YES report Writing Workshops Each year the Executive Board of each organization is replaced; and along the school year the new EB will surely encounter the mid-year report and the YES report. The department, partnering with OSA, will conduct writing workshops one month before the submission of each report. The workshops will teach the new EB what and how the OSA expects the reports to be written. ORD Direction: Building on foundations with Innovation The 1st year of the department has started with research forums, pilot studies, and the PMS manual. The forums will stay; the pilot studies updated and refined annually; the PMS Manual updated as needed. Throughout the year the department will put an emphasis, but not limited to, innovation and dedication. With this, I hope to expand the breadth of researches and projects to that will aid to the development of core competencies and effectiveness of organizations. Pilot studies that are deemed useful to the council will be updated annually. Finally, the department will also put emphasis on documentation recognizing the importance of reference materials for future council members.
