ESSAY. Explain in 100 words or less why you want to run for the position and the key points of your platform. I would like to run for the Cluster Head of the Performing Arts Cluster because I am very passionate for the performing arts, redundant as that may sound. Being part of the cluster for a year already (Secretary-Treasurer, 2009-2010), I have grown to love it even more. I have come to realize that when you do something you truly love, you do not consider it as ―work,‖ rather you enjoy it. The key points of my platform are as follows: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Storage Room Theatre Lobbying PACisama Year 3 PACstage Pass Year 2 GK AHA Year 2 PACOB

Council of Organizations of the Ateneo

Central Board Elections 2009-2010: Electoral Form

III. PLATFORM 1)

Main Point: I will ensure that the concerned offices are aware that the Performing Arts Cluster needs its own storage room. Details: Space has always been a concern with the performing arts organizations. Since we are a very different cluster, we have different needs from the other clusters. I would like to continue working with the Office of Student Activities to be able to provide a room for the four PAC organizations where they will be able to put their trophies, props, and such.

2)

Main Point: I will continue to push for a new theatre for the Performing Arts Cluster. Details: I have already talked to Rob Roque (now running for Sanggu president) and he said that he will help me in pushing for a new theatre for PAC. We have already started the documentations; we need only some more to be able to create a ―case‖ with the VP. Hopefully, we will have more progress this year and in time, our theatre lobbying prayers will be answered.

3)

Main Point: PAC Websites: Blogspot, Facebook, PACOB, PAC Network Details: I would like to focus on PAC’s visibility this year. Last year, we were supposed to have a tie-up with Guidon. However, due to unforeseen expenses that we will incur, we did not push through with it. During our planning seminars and evaluation seminars, we were able to come up with a solution—online websites! These websites will constantly be updated by one person from any of the four organizations who will apply for the job.

4)

Main Point: PACstage Pass Year 2 Details: I believe that the PAC Orientation was a huge success in the sense that the four organizations felt very united. This year, I would like to have another PAC Orientation with a longer PAC presentation (informing the members what PAC is, what projects we have done so far, etc.). This is so that the members will be well-informed of what cluster they belong to.

5)

Main Point: PACisama Year 3 Details: PACisama has now become PAC’s major project. It not only showcases the organizations’ talents but it also promotes camaraderie within the cluster. By having the theme Rebolusyon in last year’s PACisama, we have proven that we are not doing arts for arts sake but actually creating a relevant avenue for the Ateneo students to relate to as Filipinos.

6)

Main Point: GK AHA Year 2 Details: I believe that this was PAC’s very first socially relevant project. I would like to continue this because it is a way for us to give back to our community using our gifts and talents. We are able to help children hone their talents as well and I think this is most important because it is not all the time that they are able to enjoy themselves and truly be ―kids.‖
