on UN declared SDG namely Goal number 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. The private sector stakeholder gave their valuable input in the workshop. The key informant interviews were conducted with prominent people of private sector, producers' association, experts, academicians, researchers, university teachers, journalists, government officers and practitioners who are related for this study. Mr. Parmod Rijal, the consulant presented his research and draft report to seek feedback and input from the stakeholders. The final report was prepared by incorporating the suggestions and feedback generated from the workshop. 14TH JULY 2017 NEPAL INFRASTRUCTURE 2030 : INVESTMENT AND FINANCING NEEDS Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS) are jointly conducting the research on the topic “Nepal Infrastructure 2030- Investment and Financing Needs.” The research aims to assess the infrastructure needs and gaps of the country specifically in the four major areas: Energy, Transportation, Urban Development and Water and Sanitation. Four experts: Mr. Suman Sharma, Mr. Devendra Adhikari, Dr. Kirti Kusum Joshi and Er. Kamal Raj Pande have been appointed.Further, following programs have been conducted regarding the research study; Inception Workshop The inception workshop was conducted on July 14, 2017 with the objective of identifying the infrastructure needs in Nepal by welcoming a diaspora of experts and stakeholders specializing and having expertise on infrastructure. The sectorial experts on energy, transportation, urban development and water and sanitation presented their insights followed by the special presentation from Dr. Juzhong Zhuang (Deputy Chief Economist, ADB) and Dr. Zhigang Li (Economist, ADB) on ADB's experience on conducting the similar study entitled

"Development of Infrastructure in Asia"..Dr. Bindu Nath Lohani, CNI Eminent Person Council and Former VP of ADB concluded the session by explaining how research document will be useful to the government and private sector. Interaction Program An interaction Program with private sector and partners of NIS 2017 was conducted on 6th September 2017. The objective of the program was to appraise the progress made so far in the selected four areas of study and to seek the stakeholder’s feedback in the respective sector to make the study more comprehensive, meaningful and a reliable source for future infrastructure development. Mr. Vishnu Kumar Agrawal, VP of CNI presented about the research study which was continued by Dr. Nayan Krishna Joshi, Economist, and IIDS. The sector specialists also shared their insights about the research study. Courtesy meeting with the Vice Chairman of NPC CNI held an interactive meeting with the vice chairman of NPC regarding the study on 3rd June 2018. NPC has appointed one focal person for CNI to look after the matter of infrastructure. The Vice Chairman of NPC, Hon’ble Prof. Dr. Puspa Raj Kadel promised to provide all the necessary support to CNI regarding the research study. The research study is in the final phase. The sectoral experts have already provided their reports which is under the review for necessary feedback.
