Despite greatly increasing the power and wealth of his kingdom, Ecgberht struck very few coins in Wessex. The Standard Catalogue of British Coins (50th edition) plate coin.

Naismith C20.1 a = SCBI 16 (Norweb), 134 (this coin); BMA 422 (same dies); North 594; SCBC 1043 corr. (Canterbury and Rochester). Good VF, toned. A very rare issue at Rochester.
