Updates to All-Time Leaders Lists

A number of cows from across the country took new places on alltime lists for single lactation records for milk, fat, and protein production following completion of lactations in 2021. These new record holders include:

Lady Grove Zumba Avril sets a new All Time Record for 305 day protein production in the Four Year Old age category, producing 419 kgs of protein in 305 days. Avril also now holds the third highest Four Year Old 305 day milk production of all time with 12,477 kgs. She is sired by Semex sire Mapleton Vly J Zumba from the well-known “Angel” family, including her third dam, Kulp-Gen Jurist Angel, the #1 LPI cow. Avril is bred and owned by Diane Naylor of Kleefeld, Manitoba.

Richford Pingerly Iconic VG-87 now holds the 2nd highest all-time record for milk production by a Four Year Old after producing 13,162 kgs of milk in 305 days. Iconic now sits at as #3 for protein production (413 kgs) in the same age category. She is sired by the Australian Illawarra bull Treeton Pingerly (#1 LPI – marketed by Semex) out of the “Irma” cow family, with Shady Brae and Headacher prefixes close up in the extended pedigree. Iconic is owned by Oceanbrae Farms of Belmont, Prince Edward Island.

Oceanbrae Pepper Becca VG-85 #3 All Time 305 Day Fat Production - Four Year Olds

Deerhaven Zumba Maggie VG-85 now holds the 2nd highest all-time record for milk production by a Five Year Old after producing 12,606 kgs of milk in 305 days. Maggie is also sired by Mapleton Vly J Zumba, and her dam (Deerhaven Ted’s Megan) is #2 for 305 day milk production in the Mature Cow category. Maggie is bred and owned by Glenda Mutrie of Thorsby, Alberta.

Oceanbrae Pepper Becca VG-85 now sits #3 for all-time Four Year Old fat production after producing 521 kgs of fat in 305 days last year. Becca is sired by Oceanbrae Bennett (Mocha x Jurist) from the accomplished “Pepper” cow family. Becca is bred and owned by Oceanbrae Farms of Belmont, Prince Edward Island.

Windknoll Wren GP-81 is now #2 on the all-time Milking Yearling protein production list after producing 299 kgs of protein in 305 days. Wren is sired by Semex sire Koopycrest Anecdote-P out of a cow family that traced back to River’s Edge Betty Anne, a past National Show Grand Champion for Lynmark Farms. Wren is owned by Windknoll Holsteins of Elora, Ontario, a relatively new herd to the breed.
