Welcome to the first issue of AJ 2013’s daily bulletin.

Activities start for everyone today. Jura and Mull should have activity tickets for the morning. Islay and Tiree should have activity tickets for the afternoon.

Service An ecumenical service will be held at 7pm in Marquee A and a warm welcome is extended to everyone on site to participate. Disco Our first disco of the week will be at 8.30pm in The Barn. Visitors today Each day, friends of Scouting will be visiting the site at Auchengillan. Today we are pleased to welcome George Walker, SHQ Commissioner for Scouts, Craig Turpie, Chairman of the European Scout Committee and Chris Brammer, Depute Chief Commissioner. AJ’s Got Talent The first heats for AJ’s Got Talent take place on Monday night. Entry forms have been distributed to all sub-Camps – please complete these ASAP. They must be returned to Graeme on the Islay sub-camp team, by 10.00 a.m. on Monday. Internet Café The internet café is open from 7.30pm until 9pm today. At busy times, we will limit how long each person can spend on a computer. Swap Shop If you are looking for an opportunity to swap activity tickets, you can try to swap on your sub-camp, between please come to the admin & activities office between 7pm and 7.30 pm. There will also be a Swap Shop outside the Admin office, between 8pm and 8.30pm.

Welcome to the second issue of AJ 2013’s daily bulletin. What’s happening? Jura sub-Camp are having their sub-Camp day today and Jon Dunbar and his team will be working with the sub-camp teams to run activities on site. Mull sub-Camp are heading off-site for the first of our Tours Days. This evening will see the first round of heat’s for AJ’s Got Talent. Adult programme At 2pm on Tuesday, there is both a visit to Glengoyne Distillery and also an opportunity to complete Safety update training. Please sign up for these today, in the Admin Office. On Tuesday evening, there is an opportunity for adults to go swimming at The Allander Pool in Milngavie and also to enjoy a craft evening. ID badges and neckies Please remember that everyone should be wearing their neckie and ID badge at all times. If you lose your badge, please pop into the admin office to see Tom, Morag, Rebecca, Lisa or Christine who will be pleased to help you. AJ’s Got Talent All entries should be handed in to Graeme on Islay sub-camp, by 10am on Monday morning and there should be no more than 6 acts per sub-Camp.

Can those Units who are on either Tiree or Mull sub-Camps let the AJ’s Got Talent team know if their acts are attending Camp in Camp so that they can be allocated a Monday heat. We’re also looking for some help to run the evenings. If you could:  

Help run the sound desk, or Help ‘look after’ acts before they go on stage.

Scout Network activity On Tuesday evening, 80 people of Scout Network age, 18 – 25 years old, are being offered the opportunity to participate in a water sports evening at Loch Lomond. Safety equipment gone missing

If you have signed up to go along, please meet in the top car park at 6.30pm.

Both the air horn and torch from the bar, which are part of the safety equipment have been ‘borrowed without permission.’ These must be returned ASAP – please simply leave them in the main hall of The Allander Chalet. What’s happening? Islay sub-Camp are having their sub-Camp day today and Jon Dunbar and his team will be working with the sub-camp teams to run activities on site. Bird Watching We have a leader on Tiree sub-Camp, from Sweden, who is very interested in bird watching. They are hoping that there might be other adults who share the same interest, please contact the Swedish Unit. Welcome to Wednesday’s issue of the AJ 2013 daily bulletin and as we go to print, the sun is shining ready for our friendship frenzy this afternoon. Pictures We’ve started uploading all of the pictures from AJ onto our Facebook page and to clydescouts.org.uk Visitors Today, we are looking forward to welcoming Wayne Bulpitt, UK Chief Commissioner, Phil Packer, UK Scouting Ambassador and Jim Duffy, Chief Executive, SHQ and Duncan Clark, Chairman of the Scottish Board. Welcome to Thursday’ issue of the AJ 2013 daily bulletin. AJ’s Got Talent Last night saw the final of AJ’s Got Talent and some great entertainment at Auchengillan. Congratulations to Aimee Mejury on winning and to Anna & The Bells who were runners up. Visitors Today, we are looking forward to welcoming Phil Packer, UK Scouting Ambassador and Jim Duffy, Chief Executive. At SHQ.

Roaming Gnomes Scott & Dougie the roaming gnomes are hiding somewhere on site. If you find them, follow the instructions on the back to win a prize, then take the gnomes to a new location. What’s happening? Today see’s Tiree sub-Camp having their subCamp Day and Islay sub-Camp heading off on their tours day. Closing Ceremony Tonight’s closing ceremony will start at 9.30pm. Your sub-Camp Leaders will arrange for you to gather and walk up to the closing ceremony together. Uniform is entirely optional. Staff should be wearing their polo shirts and AJ neckies. There will be a disco immediately after the closing ceremony, in The Barn.
