Future projec ts include a theatre work for solo piano and electronics and an ensemble piece for the ECM+. Javier Alvarez is one of the best-known Mexican composers of his generation and many of the works in his prolific oeuvre combine the intricacies of music technology with diverse instruments and influences from around the world. Parker Bert plays percussion, juggles, and cooks. Bryan Besant is a media artist w i t h e y e s f o r e ar s and h a s fantastic peripheral vision. Eliot Britton , accused of trying t o g e t p e o p l e t o s o u nd l ike computers, and computers to sound like people. Whether or not that is a problem has yet to be determined.

Extreme clavichordist Maximilian Fleischman is wanted by your local authorities for disturbing (at very low decibel levels) the hard-won complacency of an unsuspecting early music public. Please approach with caution.
Ingrid Gatin makes eclectic beautiful. One of Winnipeg's own up-and-coming singer/ s o n g w r i t e r/a r r a n g e r s ,w i t h accordion, piano, vocals, handclaps, foot-stomps, and tambourine, she is a little bit gypsy, a little bit soul, and a lot of passion. Maddy Hildebrand is a Winnipegbased pianist and bassist who lives on both side of the line between classical and jazz. Michael Matthews believes that the discovery of extraterrestrial life is imminent. He hopes it will turn out that they are managing things better than we are.
Gordon Fitzell + Gina Ryan + Expanded Performance Trio (Parker Bert + Eliot Britton + Erika Donald)
strength in numbers
Luke Nickel is a young composer (for now) who is interested in the concepts of organics, machinery, and alchemy. These interests lend themselves well to cooking, which he does to waste time. Freya Björg Olafson trained in the professional programs at both The Royal Winnipeg Ballet and School of Contemporary Dancers and subsequently she completed a MFA in New Media degree from the Transart Institute in Austria combining dance with video, audio and painting. Jamie Pham loves to hit inanimate objects with sticks. W he t he r i t i s at uni v e r si t y, concer ts, or spor ting events, playing drums is the way to go. Drumlove is all you need. Wendy Rondeau is fascinated by the vocal process and the many and profound things it can teach us about ourselves. She is involved in experimental improvisation and enjoys incorporating theatrical elements in her work.
Gina Ryan actively commissions and premieres works for solo percussion, several of have been recorded and nationally broadcast by the CBC. She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Canada, Japan, China, France, and the United States. She has appeared at the New found Music Festival, Pop Montreal International Music Festival, the Winnipeg New Music Festival and the Inter national Sound Symposium. Kaija Saariaho was born in Finland in 1952. Her studies at IRCAM have had a major influence on her compositional style, which focuses on "timbre and colour" with "expressive, fast melodic fluctuations". Örjan Sandred is a Swedish composer and an A s sociate Professor in Composition at the University of Manitoba in Canada. He is also deeply involved in research in Computer Assisted Composition.
Melina Stinson is a Montrealbased contemporar y dancer and choreographer. She has become inextricably drawn to the exploration and expression of the human body. Anthony Tan aims to write music inspired by somaticism, biological metaphors, auditory illusions, and non-western musical systems. Heidi Ugr in is a Winnipegbased composer and performer interested in the notion of possibility, recycling music, winefood pairings, and exploring the unknown. Unbridled enthusiasm is her best trait. Byron Wood is a percussionist, born and raised in Winnipeg. His main life goal is to hit things for a living, and his favourite colour is green.
