Saturday, May 4th and Sunday, May 5th.

Air With Flair Turns the Ordinary Extraordinary Jennifer Strohl is a domestic goddess who is both grateful and blessed to stay at home and play with her paints. After receiving an airbrush on her 2011 birthday she began painting on various mediums. Her friend suggested she paint on Adirondack chairs thus “Air With Flair” was born. Airbrushing allows painting any design or style on any medium. Her chairs are foldable, making them easy to transport. Special orders are welcome. She also enjoys painting on recycled cabinet doors, screens, old windows, stools, basically anything wood. Jennifer and her extraordinary chairs can be found in Tent A booth 12.

Old World Jewelry with New World Accents Larisa Zimin now lives in Wixom, Michigan but is originally from Ukraine. She credits her success as a jewelry artist to her artistic mother who taught her beading using wooden beads. Larisa embellishes her beads with amber, turquoise, sea shells and other natural materials. For more than 20 years she has been busy perfecting her craft, and her earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and mirrors reflect that. Meet with Larisa in building B booth 6 where she will be happy to assist you in selecting just the right piece to add to your jewelry collection.

Natural Mediums Used In An Unusual Way to Create Natural Artwork

Trudy Martin uses natural feathers and barks in a very unusual way she paints them with realistic scenes which are then matted and framed to add beauty to your home. Trudy's talent is evident whether you see them from far away or take the time to study them up close to see the intricate detail. Your guests will be surprised to learn that feathers or bark are the foundation of your artwork. Come meet with Trudy in Building C, Booth 14.

Gracefully Woven Baskets Will Add Charm to Your Home Grace Hovenour began weaving baskets by accident 24 years ago when a basket weaving class was offered at her workplace. She hadn't planned to attend but over half of the people were sick that day and she attended so the instructor wouldn't be disappointed. That basket led to others and the rest is history. She custom dyes her reed to create just the right colors and mixes her own stains to put a special finish on each basket. No two are alike because each is woven without a form. Creating heirloom pieces gives her joy. Constantly on the hunt for new ideas that can come from a customer's suggestion or browsing a shop and discovering a shape that inspires a new basket. That is how she got the idea for her trademark pottery baskets. This led her to a local potter that could custom throw her pieces so she can weave the basket directly into pottery. She also stumbled on the adorable plates she uses, turning them into lids and creating baskets to fit each one. Building B, Booth 1 is the place to meet with Grace and let her assist you in selecting your very own heirloom!

“…everything nice” is Lovely to Look At, Lovely to Own

“…and everything nice” is aptly named by artist, Jennifer Kamm, Findlay, Ohio. You will understand the name when you visit her Outside, Space F where you will see her beautiful mosaic like designs on frames, mirrors, trays, jewelry and other items. Jennifer grew up with a mother and grandmother who were always creating and selling their creations. She has spent the past 30 or more years also crafting and creating. Her husband calls her a piddler. She says she doesn't consider herself an artist, just someone who enjoys creating and bringing joy to others with those creations. Her inspiration comes from nature, the glass itself and other geometric designs. The work she creates with glass deviates from true mosaic in that she doesn't always use small pieces to create a picture. She enjoys using art glass in larger pieces with old jewelry, wire, beads, and other materials used to embellish the piece. The glass is glued onto a surface and then grouted and sealed for a truly unique piece of art.

The Moving Story Behind “Wind Beneath My Wings” Dan Denniston, artist at Wind Beneath My Wings, started his business after losing his father to cancer. The nurses that helped him and his brother care for their father in his final months sent a wind chime in his memory to the funeral. Less than a year later he lost his mother to diabetes complications. Dan began making his own wind chimes to keep alive the spirit of loved ones. Evident in Dan's work is a heart for color, design, melody and workmanship. Building on a framework of natural materials such as deer antlers and driftwood, Dan uses decorative art glass from Kokomo Opalescent Glass of Kokomo, Indiana, the oldest continuously operating manufacturer of decorative art glass products in North America and supplier to Tiffany, LaFarge, McCully and Miles. The glass is hand cut and ground to make beautiful tones and sounds that will add to the beauty of a summer's night. The summer sun will change the colors and reflect the sunlight to make a summer day even more beautiful. Browse his offerings in Building I, Booth 24 at Springtime in Ohio. Dan will be honored to work with you on custom orders to remember special days, events or people.

Always in Loving Memory of my dad, Daniel Buser What a winter we had! Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a beach girl at heart and love summer! I can honestly say, I am ready for it! Much of the winter was spent with Dean and being inside. Got a couple of long weekends of fun in there, but for the most part, helping Dean get better was my job. Dean's road to recovery is moving forward. At last report his cancer had not gotten worse. We just now start the healing process from all the chemo and radiation to his lung. The education we have gotten on this journey is some I hope I never need again. A recent trip to the Cleveland Clinic was met with highs and lows. The high being, Dean has done incredibly well through all of this. The low, he now has to heal and he remains very strong and we will get through this. The grandbabies (they will always be my babies) are now 10, 3, 2, and 1. I am fortunate to have two that are close by and two within driving distance when time permits. Evan, the oldest, is now busy with sports and finishing the 4th grade. He is keeping Heather very busy and between her full time job, his schedule and what time she puts in here, there is very little Heather time! I am thankful for all she does here, and I know she appreciates some down time with a friend. (aka, Bill!)

Danielle's little ones, Mackenzie and Maddison are now 3 and 2. With a birthday just celebrated, there were Princess' everywhere. These two just have to smile to make a bad day good! I am so thankful they are just a short drive south. Cliff and Danielle are both in the corporate world and enjoying the suburbs of Columbus. Dustin's little one, Austin, is now 1. Dustin and Amber recently became engaged, so they will be planning a wedding in the near future.

Mackenzie & Maddison

Ken is now busy working in Dayton, OH. He is working for Booz Allen Hamilton, a Strategy and Technology consulting firm. He keeps busy officiating high school football and basketball. He makes it home when he can, but there is not much time for longer visits. Although we talk frequently, I do miss seeing him and Maddi.

Now for my beautiful mother, Elaine, she has finally gotten settled into her new place and gets to enjoy time with my two sisters and their families. I visit when I can and she still comes to help with the shows. With Springtime in Ohio being the weekend before Mother's Day, I will get to spend Mother's Day with my mother this year! I am very thankful for all she has done, does, and will do. I Ken am forever appreciative of her! She has been my sounding board through this rough patch we have had recently. Thank you Elaine! And finally, the reason this paper continues, is the unending devotion of my late father, Dan. When I sometimes look at this entire production and ask myself why, his voice is ALWAYS there reminding me! Even though he is gone, I still find myself asking him questions as if to get answers. Thank you D.B., you always know how to keep me motivated and remind me why. You, the crafters and customers, share the reason that I continue. This little hiccup that life has thrown us has showed me the magnitude of your caring and understanding, and I truly can not thank you all enough. I will continue to produce the best shows possible, both here in Ohio and those in Indiana. If you have not attended a show in Indiana, I invite you to come on over and see what amazing talent is there. Or if you haven't been to an Ohio show, come on out as we would love to see you. Thank you for letting me share a little piece of my life, it is who I am. And, thank you for the support you have shown not only me, but my entire family as it is recognized and appreciated! I hope to see you all at the two day, Springtime in Ohio show at the Hancock County Fairgrounds!

Dan Davenport began working with metal and the art of repousee' while in high school and was inspired by his shop teacher early on. Repousse' literally means shaped or ornamented with patterns in relief made by hammering or pressing on the reverse side. After retiring in 2004, American Forging was created and Dan now has a full-time endeavor doing sometime he loves. Using recycled aluminum made to look like pewter, this is handcrafting at its best. Unlike pewter, the piece contains no hard metals, making it safer to use and easier to clean. With the help of his son, molds are designed and created and the process begins. Dan started with four designs and is now up to sixty designs and fifteen different shapes. He continues to add new designs yearly! Start your collection today, by visiting Dan in building A booth 67.

I would like to call it beautification, but it's really just construction! With the recent storms and damage from them, the Hancock County Fairboard has decided to remove a few buildings. The replacement building will be bigger and better! There may be some minor changes to the maps and listings (due to the late notice of when this was happening), so be flexible and enjoy seeing vendors in Building J and perhaps in an additional big top tent. You can always stop by the Show Office, in front of Building A, for information where your favorite vendor has been moved to. We are sorry for any confusion and we will be happy to assist you with any questions. We look forward to some new facilities to use in the fall.
