Summer Time News the Whole Family Can Look Forward To! This season, there is going to be some of the campground hosts that are going to schedule events and activities in the campgrounds for families and children. Melody Lane kicked off this effort on Memorial Day with a Homemade Ice Cream and Cookie event on Thursday, May 24th. It was held by the new pond at Melody and those who attended were very excited to see these events happening. The Outfitters supplied a water slide that was found in storage and with the help of some of Melody Lane campers and the Melody Camphosts, it stayed up all weekend and was enjoyed by many. You could drive down through Melody and see the parents sitting by the pond and the children sliding on any given day during the weekend. Pictures are on the Outfitter Facebook page, so if you haven’t been to the Facebook page, now is a good time to do it. The Melody Lane Camp-hosts, Wendell and Kadye Ward, announced that there would be many more activities throughout the season in the Common Area by the pond and hoped anyone that wanted to participate would come and enjoy what was being offered. Some of the activities planned are pony rides, petting zoo, Frisbee tournaments, pond activities including learning to bait a hook, cast and take a fish off the hook, craft times outdoors, New Member Orientation on Friday mornings, and Walking a Mile in Melody (two laps around the campground). There have been large rocks placed by the pond for anyone to come by and sit and enjoy the quiet, or bring your permit and your fishing pole and catch a few of the catfish. We are asking that the fishing in the pond this season be mostly catch and release so that we can build up the fish population. After the catfish were stocked (100 were put in a few weeks ago and all are thriving) Kadye is wanting to put a few more species of fish in the pond and is paying 25 cents to any child who catches up to eight small perch/bream from the Spring Hill pond that will bring them to her campsite. If they are swimming and healthy, she will pay you for them and then let you help put them in the Melody pond. Also, any children wanting to help Kadye and Wendell feed the fish in Melody Lane pond, just come by get a baggie of fish food. The fish food is located at their campsite Melody #38 by the pond. They usually feed them every morning around 9:00 a.m., so come by then if you want to see the fish feeding.

Letter to the Members I am writing this letter asking for your help. We have a great Ranch that is in one of the most beautiful parts of the country and it has a membership that is made up of some of the best people that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. We get to enjoy the clean fresh air, observe nature at its best, and for the most part enjoy a worry free and relaxing atmosphere. However there is a small group that just can't seem to respect the rights of others to enjoy their membership. They seem to think it is ok to trash the place, vandalize the property and steal from the Ranch and other members. This small group makes it harder for the employees to do their job of maintaining the Ranch for you, they cost the membership additional dollars every day in labor and materials to replace equipment and fix damage, and the fact that they steal from other members that are their family and friends makes absolutely no sense to me at all. I am asking for your help to put a stop to this, we as employees, the Rangers, and staff cannot be in all places at once, all the time. We are asking that you be our eyes and ears and let us know who is behind these crimes so we can try to put a stop to it. If you see someone or hear about these kinds of activities please report that information to the Rangers or a staff member. With your help we will be better able to reduce the cost to the membership and make Cloud 9 Ranch a more safe and secure place for all to enjoy. Thank you, Coy Jackson, General Manager.

Activities Committee Information The Activities Committee would like to get everyone involved this year with the July 4th King and Queen selection and the Grand Marshall selection. This year, the Activities Committee asked each of the six different Ranch committees to nominate people in which they felt had done outstanding work as volunteers for C9R. The next phase of the selection process is up to you as members. From the list of Candidates that have been selected, each membership can vote one time in each of the 3 categories. There are voting forms available in the accounting office or you can clip the ballot from below to cast your vote. Voting buckets are in the Trading Post and in the Club House. We hope that everyone gets involved with the selection process this year. Voting begins today and ends at 4PM June 25th. Winners will be notified and posted in the 9 Lines.
