Special Event Volunteer Opportunities Fall 2007 Ozarka Walk in the Park Sunday • September 9 Rangers Ballpark in Arlington This two-mile fun walk gets underway adjacent to Rangers Ballpark and concludes with a walk on the field! Volunteers are needed to assist with event day set-up and breakdown; registration and distribution of materials; and water stations. Registration opens at 10:30 am, with the walk beginning at 11:30 am. Caddy Shack Scramble Tuesday • September 11 Tierra Verde Golf Club This one-day tournament gets underway at 8:30 am with a shotgun start on the unique Audubon Signature course in south Arlington. Volunteers are needed to assemble goody bags and prepare materials the week before the event; to assist with event day set-up and breakdown; to monitor event day contests; and to assist with hospitality. Make a Splash Friday & Saturday • September 28 & 29 River Legacy Living Science Center Make a Splash with Project WET is the largest nationwide day of water education in the world. It is celebrated across the United States with water festivals where students explore a diversity of water-related topics. At the Living Science Center, Friday’s activities are reserved for school groups. On Saturday, the event is open to the public. Volunteers are needed for set-up and breakdown and to help facilitate festival activities. After Dark in the Park Thursday – Sunday • October 11 – 14 River Legacy Parks & Living Science Center This annual fall festival, which features entertainment, professional storytelling, crafts, activities, games, and festival fare, is designed for families with children ages 2 – 10. After Dark in the Park meets a need for family fun that’s not frightening during the Halloween season. Thursday evening is reserved for disabled and disadvantaged youth and their families. Volunteers are needed for set-up and breakdown; to prepare and sell concessions; and to help facilitate games, crafts and activities each of the four nights. Book Fair & Gift Wrap Extravaganza December 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24 Barnes & Noble Put your wrapping talents to work as you gift wrap for contributions to River Legacy Foundation. Volunteers are needed to wrap books, CD’s and small gifts, and to distribute information about River Legacy Foundation.

All event proceeds benefit River Legacy Parks, Living Science Center Programs and River Legacy Foundation.
