Crew is a very physical sport that competes in three seasons throughout the year. Each season has specific types of competitions including head races, indoor races and regattas. We practice on the St. Joe/ St. Mary’s rivers as well as in surrounding lakes. CLHS has one of only two high school crew programs in the state. We also offer a camp during the summer!

The high school provides access to high-speed internet and a variety of apps required for courses and testing. Concordia provides training for any student who would like to have it. It is highly recommended that you get accidental damage protection on your computer.

Chapel

koi·no·ni·a noun Christian fellowship or communion, with God or, more commonly, with fellow Christians.

The whole school gathers once a week for a chapel service. This is a time for worship and to dig deeper into the Word. Our campus pastors, teachers, and guest speakers lead this time.

Chapel is required for all students.

The mission of the Koinonia ministry is to pursue a closer, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and your fellow classmates in a small group, interactive devotional time. Koinonia meets each week and is led by students. You get your group as a freshman and stay with that group through graduation. You pray, grow and serve together for four years. It’s your way to connect and learn from students in all areas and grades at the high school. Students also have the opportunity to be leaders in the group.

What We Believe: The Christ-centered education provided by CLHS is based upon the sincerely held religious beliefs of the Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) and the mission of the high school to pursue Christ-centered educational excellence that equips individuals for lifelong learning and service as disciples of Jesus Christ. Family, Career, & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA): Be part of FCCLA through our Culinary Department and gain hands-on cooking experience, leadership skills, and exciting travel opportunities.

Helping Hands Service Club: This is s a group that focuses on serving the community.

Praise 150: Students provide music for various chapels throughout the school year.

Cadets4Life: This group provides opportunities for members to develop an appreciation for human life.

Each January, students march on Washington D.C. SERVINGbowls: Student-powered service club to address hunger in the community. Students develop their ceramics skills on a wheel while making bowls to support the St. Mary's Soup Kitchen.

Student Council: Students are elected and represent their classes and the school on the student governance board.

Show your creativity on and off the stage Concordia's Drama Program gives students an outlet for expression. It teaches public speaking skills, builds character and lets them have a little fun along the way. Students have the opportunity to work in many performances throughout the year — both in front and behind the stage, as well as take classes related to their interests. We even have a 24-Hour Theatre Festival where students create their own plays!

Our students have built multiple arcade games!

Technology in the real world Whether you're a wiz at the computer or just dabble in programming, our computer science classes will help you take your skills to the next level while gaining creativity, problem solving and collaboration skills. Several computer science classes can be taken for dual credit for college through Purdue-Fort Wayne. Students can participate in area competitions, create their own apps or

build competitive robots. Students have access to our NAO humanoid robot, Raspberry Pi's, Lego EV3 robots, custom technology projects, and so much more.

Each year, students create projects using Raspberry Pi's (essentially mini computers). Projects ranged from building arcade gaming systems and websites to making digital pets and Magic Mirrors.

Music does more than just make sounds — it ­­ changes the way we think and act. In the music programs, students have the opportunity to participate in multiple instrumental and vocal groups, including Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Orchestra, A Cappella, Chamber Choir, and Men's and Women's Chorus. Our students are award-winning, with the marching band going to state finals more than 18 times, and multiple trips to state by our choir. Students also participate in a tour along with performances throughout the year.

Concordia Scholar

Awarded to students who exemplify and demonstrate integrity and good character at school, church, home, and in the community. A Concordia Scholar must maintain a 3.50 GPA or higher and maintain a record of positive behavior. Students must apply for admission during the priority application period of October 15 December 19 and they will be notified if they are qualified to apply. Scholarship renews automatically.

Congregation Scholarship

Those who are members in good standing at one of our Association churches (see list on opposite page).

Tuition Scholarship

Families must fill out our online application for need at www.clhscadets.com/financial-aid. The application must be completed by July 1. Priority deadline is December 19. Students only need to apply once. If your situation changes, please notify the financial aid office. This scholarship is awarded based on financial need.

Indiana School Choice Scholarship

For information about the School Choice program and its eligibility requirements, please give us a call. This scholarship is awarded based on state guidelines (see below).

Alumni Scholarship

Awarded to children of Concordia Lutheran High School alumni. Available first-year only.

Family Loyalty Award

This $500+ scholarship is awarded to families who have multiple current students at Concordia.

Priority Application & Financial Aid Deadline December 19 What does the priority deadline mean? It means that if you apply and get your financial aid application in for tuition assistance and scholarships by December 19, you will get your financial aid package by the middle of February. You can still apply after December 19.

Instructions for Admissions

Complete the Application for Admission form online at www.clhscadets.com/apply Submit a copy of the student’s birth certificate Submit a copy of the student’s most recent report card or unofficial high school transcript (for transfer students) Submit a copy of the student’s most recent standardized test scores (usually Math and English ILEARN scores) Submit a copy of your IEP/iSP/504 and Educational Evaluation, if applicable Submit the $50 Application Fee

If the student’s GPA is below a “C” or 2.0 average, then an appeal must be submitted (Students from feeder Lutheran schools are exempt). Please contact the CLHS Admissions Office.

All financial and other obligations to the student’s previous school must be completed prior to enrollment to CLHS. A student desiring to transfer to CLHS is expected to present a positive record of academic performance, attendance and behavior from the school he/she currently attends.

EPIC:

Our EPIC (Empowering and Preparing Incoming Cadets) program provides freshmen and transferring students with a mentor and a supportive environment that fosters a smooth transition to CLHS, both academically and socially. Our mentors work with new students to help them get settled at Concordia, including events during the summer like the Escape Room challenge and a pizza party.

If you would like to have a mentor, please let us know by filling out the online form at clhscadets.com/EPIC/ by May 31.

FRESHMAN RETREAT:

This is a time to bond with your new classmates. During the second week of school, we gather together for a day of active games and awesome activities to help you get to know other freshmen and your teachers.
