Hospitality Confidence Stabilises, But Small Operators Face Mounting Cost Pressures
Confidence among UK hospitality leaders is showing signs of recovery after a turbulent period, but escalating costs and widening disparities between large groups and independent operators are threatening to stall progress, according to new industry data.

This marks a significant rebound from a five-year low of 26% recorded in October 2025, buoyed by strong festive trading and improved economic stability. Optimism about the sector as a whole has also improved, rising from 13% in late 2025 to 31% in early 2026. However, both measures remain well below pre-pandemic levels, underlining the fragility of the recovery.
