SUMMER TERM COMMUNITY GUIDE 2011

Welcome Dear Reader, Welcome to The Clere’s Summer Term Guide. Last term we were thrilled to establish the Messy Play Club. This is exactly as the title suggests….a club for the under 5s to come along with a grown up and indulge in all that is messy, be it foam, water, sand and paint. New Messy Players are welcome at any time. This term we are hoping to establish a Computer Club. Ok this doesn't sound quite as exciting as Messy Play but for those of you in the community on a bit of a learning curve with computers this could be a weekly treat. If you’re new to computing or have taken a beginners course but sometimes wish you had access to a little support then this is for you. Whatever your problem with computing we will endeavour to get you back on track. And finally, whilst not wishing to cast a shadow over the Summer we do need to mention that economic cuts affect us all and that the future of adult education programmes in a Community setting such as The Clere, are at risk without enrolments. So for the avoidance of doubt, we love early enrolments in The Community Office. We really do. They confirm whether a course runs or not. We’ve noticed that quite a few people peruse this brochure and mean to enrol but put off doing so. Then just at the point we’ve reluctantly decided to cancel a course...the phone rings.

PLEASE ENROL NOW BY TELEPHONING US ON 01635 278129. 2

If, for instance, you’ve taken a beginners course but still get a little frustrated at times and struggle to do whatever it is you’ve been wanting to do, then drop in and see us and we will try and help. It could just be a one off visit or you might enjoy the company of other like minded people and the routine of Computer Club. If at any time there seems to be a shared point of confusion then tutoring as a class may be a solution. This the perfect opportunity to pick up some helpful advice and tips in a friendly and informal setting. As one of the founding participants it is also a good time to influence how this club evolves.
