Hard to believe, but it’s already been a year since I came on as staff at Youth Unlimited. Time has flown by. At the beginning of the summer it had looked like we were going to be running another Earn-A-Bike cohort. This would have been a great opportunity to connect with some new kids. Unfortunately, the funding we had been expecting got delayed and we had to postpone the summer cohort. Though there was definitely some disappointment both on our part and the kids, God’s timing will always trump our own plans. For a while now, we have been toying with the idea of an “advanced” Earn-A-Bike course. What we envision is a course that teaches more in-depth bicycle mechanics with the teens. This would also provide us an opportunity to reconnect with those not involved in other aspects of our ministry and to go into deeper leadership development. We're hoping to do this course this Fall! “Charlie”, is one of the youth who would randomly stop by our home. Sometimes he’d come by to ask for help on his bike, sometimes he’d come just to hang out. Koon would describe him as cheerfully helpful. He would always have a smile on his face, always be willing to lend a hand. Recently, “Charlie” was diagnosed with Leukemia. He had been part of our second Earn-A-Bike cohort and a leader during our third cohort. He was actively involved with everything Revolution(s) was doing, coming out to Spring Garden’s youth group armed with lots of good questions about faith. As a way to help his family out and to show support for him, we are dedicating our upcoming “advanced” Earn-A-Bike program to him. The plan is to invite back all past participants to fix up the collection of donated bikes we have accumulated. These bikes would then be sold and the proceeds would go to help “Charlie” and his mom out with any needs during his treatment. Please pray for this new “advanced” Earn-a-Bike program. Pray that the youth will feel a desire to come and help out one of their friends. Pray that it will be a time of learning and community building. And most of all, please pray for “Charlie” and his family. Lastly, and very importantly, on November 7th Youth Unlimited is holding its biennial Reception of Friends. It’s a chance to celebrate God’s work and thank you for the support you’ve given me and YU. There’s a suggested cover charge but Koon and I would be happy to cover this cost and be blessed by your attendance. Please email me if you can join us at the Reception of Friends dessert night on November 7 . th

Thank you for your continued prayer support. Blessings. Clement
