Editor’s Letter

Hey Ya’ll, Another week, Another Issue. Issue 20 that is and Cover Model and Co-Host Ryan Boyd Drake graces our cover and I could be more proud. I like a beaming dad right now and each issue to have all of my kids on the cover of each magazine. They make me proud to spell my name M-A-N, they make me proud. I haven’t had this much fun with an interview sense Eugene’s interview. I love when the people I interview make my job that much easier and bring humor, fun, and seriousness to the interview. I just can’t believe I have been doing this for almost a year. In this issue we have Nathan “Seven” Scott back with his wonderful advice. So keep on sending your letters to us here at the magazine and we will keep adding new things to the magazine and please tell all of your friends about us. Cordially,

Cleavester sglweeklymag@gmail.com

Ask Nathan

Dear Nathan, How do you let a friend that you want to be intimate with him without ruining the friendship? Sincerely, Nick Stephens Dear Nick Being intimate with friends can be tricky. You have to know your boundaries and theirs. What are your intentions for the intimacy? What does being intimate look and feel like to you? Is it that you want your relationship to go to another level? You both have to want it in order for anything to transpire. Talk about it with your friend. Don't allow outside sources to dictate how it "should go". You have the power to create what you ulitmately want. Life is Hot In Cracktown Based on the 1993 best-selling novel by Buddy Giovinazzo, Life is Hot in Cracktown shows the gritty, hard realities of a neighborhood, as well as the struggling, proud people who attempt to survive. The intertwining stories come together in a powerful climax of love and salvation, showing that despite the obstacles of life in the inner-city, humanity and hope can still prevail.

Sunshine Cleaning Desperate to get her son into a better school, single mom Rose (Amy Adams) persuades her slacker sister Norah (Emily Blunt) to join her in the crime scene cleanup business to make some quick cash. With the help of their ill-fated salesman father (Alan Arkin), they climb the ranks in a very dirty job, finding themselves up to their elbows in murders, suicides, and... specialized situations. But underneath the dust and grime they also come to discover a true respect for one another, and create a brighter future for the entire Lorkowski family.

Can You Get Too Close Too Soon? By: Zane

Dear Zane, You are my favorite author. I love the way that you put so much feeling and emotion into your writing. My favorite would have to be Addicted. To this day, that is the only book that I have read over and over without becoming tired of it. I met a guy about four months ago and now we are really good friends. I am confused because we have had sex and our chemistry is outstanding, but I cannot seem to see where this is going. I do not want to waste any time or emotion on something that really is not there. I feel so comfortable when I am around him and he has made it very easy for me to open up to him about everything. I feel like I cannot let him go completely because we have gotten so close. That may also be our downfall. Do you think that getting too close so soon is a bad thing? Lately, I feel as though he is drifting away. I must admit that I am a little worried. Could I possibly be suffocating him? Signed, Lost and Confused

Dear Lost and Confused, I believe that you have a commitment issue, even if you do not recognize it. You have probably been hurt in the past and are trying to invent an issue where one does not exist. If this man makes you feel good, if he makes you feel comfortable, and things are moving along great, you need to go with the flow. You gave no reason to believe that he feels suffocated. Unless his actions are saying that, do not make assumptions about his feelings. If you are really worried, ask him if you think things are moving too fast. Believe it or not, there are many men in this world who are ready to settle down and want to move quickly. If he wants to cut back, he will. If he wants to walk away, he will. Do not start acting differently to encourage that. He is feeling you. Feel him back. Blessings, Zane

Lights, Camera, Ryan! A Cleavester Brooks Interview

Photos By: Ryan B. Drake Everybody Loves Ryan. If you are a fan of the internet television show ADTV you will fall in love with him also. The world came to Know Ryan on the second season, after first season’s co-host Adam Benjamin Irby left the show. Then Auden Robinson join the show as Derrick Briggs Co-host. Then our favorite dark chocolate host came along about half way in and he has never left our minds and hearts. With his country accent and quick wit. I don’t think the show could go on without him. Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down and chat with him and he brought that loving spirit to this interview. Enjoy the read.

Cleavester: Hello, Ryan. How are you doing? I'm AMAZING!!! Trying to maintain in the hot and humid weather. LOL!!!

Cleavester: If you were a porn star what would be your name? Why? Hmmmm......well.......it would have to be something that is self-reflecting. Being that I'm a Gemini, I would have two different names: Juicy (for the softer side) and Cocoa Storm (because I'm a dark chocolate and you never know what to expect for storms now-a-days.

Cleavester: Who is Ryan Drake? Ryan Drake is a very complex individual. I've always been the type of person to say the first thing that comes to mind regardless of the outcome, because it's better out than in. I'm a very loving guy with a lot of dreams and ambitions.

Cleavester: Where are you from originally? I'm from Jackson, MS. but I live in New York now.

Cleavester: What was life like for you growing up in Mississippi? Life in Mississippi was pretty simple. I learned at an early age that there was more to life than Mississippi. Don't get me wrong, I love my hometown and the fact that I had an opportunity to experience a southern up-bringing, however; Mississippi could only have me for so long. The heavy prejudice in the air (whether it be a color issue or a sexual orientation issue) is what I didn't really like about living in Mississippi. It's hard enough being a black man, now you're shooting me down for being gay as well.........DAMN!!!

Cleavester: What is your guilty pleasure? PORN...PORN...PORN!!!! LMAO!!! But seriously I have a weakness for watching Sex and the City, The Golden Girls, and Ms. Paula Deen!!! BABYYYYYYY!!!!!!! I've gained so much weight watching Paula add more butter to a recipe......but I did that before she came along.

Cleavester: What is your favorite sport? Why? I really don't have a favorite sport. I'm the type that likes to go to games rather than watch them on television. It adds to the whole experience. But if I had to choose I would say basketball. Reason being, THE MEN ON THOSE TEAMS!!! AND ALL THAT PENIS MOVING LEFT TO RIGHT!!! OHHHHHH LORD JESUS!!! (can I say all that???) We have to stop this interview right now......

Cleavester: What is your role on ADTV?

My role on ADTV started off as just a guest host and blossomed into me being a permanent co-host and now Executive Producer of the show. I also do most of the editing for the show. I love the story telling process.

Cleavester: What is your dream for the show and life? Well for the show, I want ADTV to become a "How To Guide" for the gay culture. I mean it's all ready that in a sense but I want young individuals, as well as older LGBT people, to be able to refer to one of our many episodes and say "Oh this is how you do it...." or "Wow....I never knew that".

As far as life is concerned, I want to continue to be that voice for other men and/or women out there like me. Now-a-days it's so difficult to find someone who will tell you the TRUTH about what is going on. I want to be respected for my "tell IT like IT is" mentality. The community has been lied to enough so I want to do my best in helping advocate a genuine gay lifestyle.

Cleavester: You have tried out for “Making His Band", got called back for another round of auditions. What did you think about the tranny he choose? I actually thought he made a great choice with Jalia. Her voice is "sickening"!!! (That means amazing for all who don't know what I mean). I wish I would have made it further in the competition but I know everything happens for a reason and so many more things are getting ready to pop off for me.

Cleavester: Do you think you will tryout for another show? Hmmmmm.......that's kind of hard to say. As of right now, my main focus (as far as television is concerned) is my own show ADTV. Running a show is a lot of hard work and coming up with new things to talk about is draining. So anything else will have to wait.

Cleavester: If VH1 came calling today to give you a show to find love. Would you do it and Why? It depends on how much money they're talking about...LMAO!!! All jokes aside, I thought about it but I'm a little leery on reality show dating. It's like dating a fan. You just don't do it. Don't get me wrong I have some very attractive fans out there, but I personally feel that I want someone who wants just me and not the glamorous lifestyle that may come with the territory of fame. I know that people will feed me the "I'm not like that" notion, but ACTIONS speak louder than words.....

Cleavester: Is it true you want to go back to college? What do you want to be and study? Yes it is, and I'm actually starting school this fall. In a few days actually. I will be studying Communications and Accounting. Even though I have some college under my belt all ready, I just decided to start from scratch seeing as that I haven't been in school for 2 years now.

Cleavester: Do you see yourself with a husband and kids? You know what, I think about that quite often. I would LOVE to have the whole husband and kid’s scenario. That would be a dream. But I'm not the easiest person to form a relationship with. Not that I have commitment issues; I just have A LOT of different views on "relationship etiquette" which usually causes arguments.

Cleavester: What do you think of the twitter phenomenon? It took EVERYTHING in me to not join the Twitter phenomenon. I really didn't want to have ANOTHER avenue for social networking. But BABY, Twitter is something else. I LOVE IT!!!

Cleavester: What did you aspire to be as a child? Ooooooo soooooo many things. I use to want to be a Choreographer. Dancing my happy ass around the house every time I saw a Britney Spears VMA performance. (I still know a few of the routines and even make up videos in my head while riding on the train...LOL). I also wanted (and still do) to become a singer. Music is my LIFE!!! But I told myself that I will stack my money and do things the way I want to do it when the time is right.

Cleavester: In school, what subject did you enjoy most? Math. I loved showing everybody (the black and white kids) that I knew how to "plug and chug".

Cleavester: Stupidest thing you've done for attention? Probably lied about something that made no sense whatsoever. I don't do that anymore because I'm trying this whole "Tell Him The Truth" thing and I love being able to say I hate things and people just look at me with that crossed-eyed stare.

Cleavester: What is a day in the life of Ryan like? Wake up Submerge my ass on the couch Eat breakfast Watch Wendy Williams Check my favorite various blogs Play with my Twitter and Facebook PORN Play in my hair Take a shower Submerge my NAKED ASS back on the couch Watch The Golden Girls Put clothes on Find something to cook Talk to Mr...... That's about it. I know it sounds like a bum rather than me, but that's what the unemployed life is like. But thank GOD all that is changing in a week.

Cleavester: If you had free pass for a day, which celebrity would you do it to and Why? Maybe LL Cool J. I have a weakness for muscle men.....

Cleavester: What are you looking for in a mate? Too much!!! Intelligence. Someone who has "common sense". Someone who loves me and accepts all that I am. Someone who I am physically attracted to, who can give it just as good as they can take it (if you know what I mean....) a God fearing man. Lord there's sooooooo much I would shut down your magazine with the answer....

Cleavester: Have a guy every said to you "I can't date you, you are to skinny. I will break you?" No, but dudes have said they could break me, but it was me who ended up doing the breaking.....

Cleavester: How do you react to fan mail? What is the response like? It's a little surreal. I can't believe people really pay attention to half the things that I say. Maybe because I think that what I'm going through is just very trivial, who knows. A lot of the responses start off like this, "OMG I LOVE YOUR HAIR.....HOW DID YOU GET IT LIKE THAT???" But I love it. I make sure to respond to EVERY person who hits me up via Facebook, Twitter, or whatever. Because it lets them know that you care enough to take time out of your day to address whatever issue they maybe having.

Cleavester: What issues will you discuss on the 4th Season? Well we're constantly coming up with topics for the new season of ADTV. It's all in a matter of picking the best topics from the pile that we have. I can't say too much, but I can say that it will be very different as far as the look is concerned. We know what works and what doesn't so we're sticking to what works and turning up the volume.

Cleavester: How will it be different from all of the other seasons? It will be different. The topics are things that people just down talk about in the community. We're trying new techniques and treatments to make sure we produce a great product that we all can be proud of years from now.

Cleavester: Tell us about your co-host Derrick, Matthew, Bry'Nt and J'Nara? Derrick- (My partner in crime) I LOVE THAT MAN!!! I've never had a friend that cared so much about me to where they would give their last just to make sure I was ok. We've been through so much together

and it's only made me value our friendship even more. He's the type of person that would hug you and curse you out at the same time. Matthew- He's truly amazing. I feel like he's my brother from another mother. We vibe on so many levels, both professionally and personally. And it’s funny, the first time I met Mattie I thought "who is this white boy", but when he opened his mouth I was an instant fan. Bry'Nt- Where do I start? That's the one I cut up with the most besides Derrick. He is such a hood bitch at heart. And I don't know why EVERYONE thinks we're together or have messed around. Not saying I haven't thought about it......because he is a cutie!!! But I value our friendship and respect him far beyond what he would ever know. J'Nara- That my heart. She is like a breath of fresh air. Being a fellow southern, we clicked the moment we met. I was a little intimidated in the beginning because her personality is larger than life. Once I got a feel of who she was, that feeling went away. She doesn't know it but I really admire her and her work ethic.

Cleavester: Does it feel good to have a woman to bounce off of? I love it. It reminds me of my high school days; being the dude surrounded by beautiful women...LOL!!! But I love having a female around because I have someone else to identify with.

Cleavester: Thank you so much Ryan, Do you have any final words to say to your fans? Well I want to say thank you for all your support over the last year. It really means a lot to me. What’s The T?

Luenell is Next in Line to Get Reality We just discovered that the comedian known as Luenell may be the next comedian to be tapped for her own reality show and star in another new film. You may remember her from touring on the Katt Williams comedy tour several years ago and in last year’s comedy film Borat. Well, we discovered that Luenell is also going to be in the new film titled All About Steve starring Sandra Bullock which opens in theatres everywhere on September 4th. If you remember, Luenell was also seen in Californication, VH1's I Love The New Millennium, Reality Bites Back, performing on Martin Lawrence 1st Amendment Standup, Chocolate News, Spring Breakdown and Head Case, just to name a select few. No word yet on which network the reality show will be broadcast on but as soon as we find out we will let you know.

The Game coming to BET! The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Black Entertainment Television is in talks with CBS TV Studio (Producers of the former CW show The Game) about ordering a new season of the multicamera comedy show in May after three seasons. Series creator Mara Brock Akil in April pitched CW an hour long version of the show as a way of to keep it on the network, which was exiting the half-hour comedy business. Following the show's cancellation, BET began preliminary talks with CBS Studios about possibly taking in the series with new originals. The cable net already runs repeats of of the show. The options on the Game actors have lapsed, so if a deal is reached with BET, CBS Studios would have to make new pacts with them.
