WHAT IS RTC?

RTC stands for Region Training Conference! Key Clubbers from Regions 9, 15, and 17 (that’s us!) all gather together at this overnight conference to learn about PTP and the Eliminate Project, attend workshops about Key Club, meet new friends, and enjoy a night under the stars with a bonfire! Contact Caitlyn Catabay at caitlyn_catabay@yahoo.com for more information or to sign up! Cost for early registration is $60, and late registration is $70 per person! If you are interested in attending, please let us know as soon as possible!

June Car Wash!

June 8, 2013: Rinse, scrub, rinse again, dry! At the Home Church on June 8th, Westmont Key Club hosted their first car wash of the summer! Key Clubbers washed cars for donations, and over $300 was raised in one afternoon! This money will go toward future events and projects for Key Club and the Campbell Kiwanis Club. Thank you to everyone who participated in this event!

OTC 2013!

June 22, 2013: Officer Training Conference, or OTC, took place on Saturday, June 22, at Manresa State Beach! Key Clubbers attended workshops and learned more about Key Club while having fun in the sun! Regarding her experience at OTC, member Cammy Luong says, “OTC was really fun. I got to meet new people and learn how to be a better leader, role model, and Key Clubber. Overall, everyone had a great time at the beach attending workshops, building sandcastles, and meeting other Key Club members!

Other Summer Events... Other events that happened during the summer include:  June 22, 2013: June DCM!

The June Division Council Meeting took place at Manresa State Beach during OTC. The LTG discussed past events and introduced new and upcoming events!  June 20, 2013 (every Thursday): Campbell Summer Concert Series!

Every Thursday, the Campbell Historical Museum hosted a summer concert at the Orchard City Green in Campbell! Members sold and served hot dogs and drinks to concertgoers.  July 20, 2013: July DCM!

The Harker School Key Club hosted the July Division Council Meeting at Santa Clara Central Park. There, past events were discussed, and new events such as Fiesta d’Artes and the Second Harvest Food Bank were introduced. There was also free yogurt and a water-balloon fight!  August 10-11, 2013: Fiesta d’Artes!

At Fiesta d’Artes, which was held in downtown Los Gatos, Key Club members worked at a food booth, setting up tables and serving coffee. Historian Sarah Malone says that “attending Fiesta d’Artes was a great experience, and she met a lot of fun new people.”  August 16, 2013: August DCM!

At the August Division Council Meeting, members watched the movie The Croods at the Camden Community Center, and important notes such as the D12W t-shirt design and ideas to fundraise for charities were discussed.
