September 14, 2013: Westmont Key Club held their first car wash of the year! It was a huge success, raising over $447 in donations to the Eliminate Project! Many new members attended, and everyone had a blast washing cars, yelling to attract customers, and even having a huge water fight in the end. Thanks to everyone who came to help out!
I FEEL GOOD! OH I FEEL SO GOOD OH! I FEEL FINE ALL OF THE TIME! ABOOGA ABOOGA ABOOGA BOOGA BOOGA! September 20, 2013: “How do you feel?” “I FEEL GOOD! OH I FEEL SO GOOD OH! I FEEL FINE ALL OF THE TIME! ABOOGA ABOOGA ABOOGA BOOGA BOOGA!” echoed all throughout the quad of Westmont High School as Key Club members shouted and yelled to attract new members to their booth at club fair. The Key Club booth was one of the loudest and most exciting booths at club rush, and our enthusiasm and spirit attracted so many members that we ran out of membership forms! This was yet another year of Key Club’s continued success at club fair.
RTC! September 27-28, 2013: Regional Training Conference was on September 27-28! In this two day training camp, members learned more about Key Club while meeting new people and having fun! Activities included a bonfire at night, workshops in the daytime, icebreakers, and more! The theme of RTC was “Stars of Service”, so members created skits using movie genres! Says member Cammy Luong, “RTC was a great experience where I interacted with new people, learned about new opportunities and projects for Key Club, and developed more as a leader while building my confidence. Plus, the food was great!”
Club Meetings During the month of September, we held 2 club meetings, on September 13th and September 25th. Our meetings invited both new and old members. On our meeting on September 25th, our Kiwanis advisor, JR McKee, presented Caitlyn Catabay, our club president, with a check for $447 to be donated to the Eliminate Project! These funds were raised through the car wash earlier that month.
