PREFACE

PORTFOLIO

preface

Hello, I'm an Interior Design student at Binus University. This portfolio will present about my design during the semester and other activities in art. I hope you will enjoy it, Thank you for your attention. " Design and Art has been my passion since I was a child. I started to learn drawing and creating art when I was 6 years old and I'd been in some competition that time. Also when I was in high school I took Life Skills Programme so that I could improve my skills in design and art. The programme that I chose were Architecture, Illustration, and Fashion Design. And after that I finally made a decision to move to Jakarta and took Interior Design major at Binus University. In Interior Design major, I've learned to express my ideas through spaces that can be useful and learn how to keep the balance between what the client wants and the designer's. I also started to pay attention to details in every works and appreciate the process in making a good design. "

NIRMANA

SENSE OF DESIGN SEMESTER 1

These works were done during the first semester in Interior Design Binus University. The Nirmana was made in 2D and some 3D shapes with various concept. Repetation patterns, some Arabesque motifs, ambience box and biomimicry concept are applied here. These works basically were individual projects except the biomimicry that was done in group of 6 people. Everything was made manually.

AMBIENCE BOX

BIOMIMICRY There are 2 projects about biomimicry. The first one ( up ) is a group assignment with the inspiration of "schooling fish". We applied their movement for the basic form of this model. And for the materials, we used a lot of DVD trash to make its shape and a triplex board (painted in black) for the base. The second one ( right ) is an individual project with the inspiration of an octopus. I used the tentacles to represent it. For the materials, I used copper wires to make its structure and some painted sticker dots for the decoration.

THE NEW CLASSIC This concept is the combination between Classic and Industrial. The Classic style is applied in some furniture, floor patterns, and exterior. While the Industrial style is much about the wall textures and materials. For the color scheme will use more neutral colors to make a relaxing ambience. Black and white are also used to make a classy and contrast looks. White is more applied in overall l and black.

INTERIOR DESIGN 2 SEMESTER 3

DJOURNAL COFFEE Djournal coffee is well known for its industrial, rustic, and classic style. For that reason I will use the same concept for this retail. For the color scheme will use more dark colors like brown, black, and grey to make it looks comfortable in the eye and more reflected the industrial itself. Also tosca color is applied for the focal point in this interior. For the furniture, I choose rustic materials with the domination of metal and wood, but still keep the classy looks. More over using the recycled materials to make the industrial and sustainable looks.

INTERIOR DESIGN 3 SEMESTER 4

GOJEK Gojek Headquarter with future office concept but still gives natural looks to make the interior fresh, and also green color to represent the Gojek itself. Gojek HQ is expected to make a difference but still adjust the development of the surrounding environment. I chose the theme "Diversity in Harmony" to resemble Indonesia that has so many diversities but still lives in harmony.

FURNITURE DESIGN 1 SEMESTER 2

ABOUT THE PRODUCT This stool is inspired from the modified triangular shape. The pad looks like a circle, but actually the shape of the pad is a triangular shape that is bent at the edge. On the leg joints is forming a triangular wedge in the middle. For the material I use sungkai wood. I chose sungkai because the wood fiber is clear and the color gives a clean looks. This stool is designed as a seat on the back porch, also can be used for side table.

FURNITURE DESIGN 2 SEMESTER 3

ABOUT THE PRODUCT This credenza is especially made for the living room with 70's Glam concept. The design goal is to make it looks classy but in the good proportion, and also added glamorous elements with gold color. The size is 148 x 89.5 x 48.5 cm. The material that's used are multiplex fancy, solid wood, and metal. For the side, the back, and the frame are using multiplex fancy mahogany with 'charcoal black' color finish. For the top table and the door frame are using multiplex fancy mahogany with 'clear' finish. Special for the drawer I use multiplex fancy teak - 'charcoal black' color finish to make the wood texture different. In the middle of the door there are solid wooden boards arrangement as decoration. For the knob, the handle, and the legs are using metal with brass chrome finish.
