“A Bite of the Big Apple” was created to share recipes for creating a more equitable and sustainable New York City food system. By working with a variety of partners, we pulled together a plethora of narratives, theories, and solutions about food in NYC. The variety of partners and collaborators helped us to look at the diverse and distinct stories of food migration, ethnic tradition, and the role of family in food in NYC.
We hope our cookbook will be a resource for you to gain a better understanding of your food system, a glimpse into the amazing work that is already being done to create change, and an inspiration for creating action within your community.
