| CIUDADLAB_Brazil: The form of desire

Architect Assistant Internship work with the architects developing presentation drawings for a housing project in Puerto Rico.

This workshop took on the task of studying the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Sao Paulo in Brazil. The research was organized into three analytical lenses: the Imagined city, the Ideological city and the Informal city, and worked with the hypothesis that in Brazil the imaginary of desire is employed to promulgate the worshipping of the body and the architectural object.

This workshop collaborated with Madrid based collective Basurama. The research was based on identifying the urban characteristics of Ponce de León Avenue in San Juan Puerto Rico with the objective of creating urban mobile structures that were made using solid waste. A three-month Urban Design workshop in Barcelona, Spain, involved the development of a proposal for the informal-industrial district of Torre Baró located on the outskirts of Barcelona. A two-month Architectural workshop with Cornell University around Spains’ Iberian Peninsula.
