FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN!
hether you are here for business, vacation, or are looking to move to Jamestown, I would like to welcome you and share a little bit about the University of Jamestown. University of Jamestown is a private, Christian, liberal arts university that offers more than 40 areas of undergraduate study—available as bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, and bachelor of science in nursing degrees. We also grant master’s degrees in education, leadership, and clinical counseling, and a doctor of physical therapy degree on our campus in Fargo. Our unique approach to education, the Journey to Success, emphasizes not only preparing students in their chosen area of study, but also preparing students through an experience that is student centered and integrates the liberal arts with sound professional programs. This approach includes components of selfreflection, student service, diversity, and preparation for the student’s future career—resulting in graduates who are critical thinkers and can communicate in today’s diverse world.
Our average student-faculty ratio is 13:1, with students coming from 37 states and 17 foreign countries. Our beautiful campus includes 110 acres of wooded land, with both historic and new buildings. The state-of-the-art Harold Newman Arena seats 2000 fans for sporting events and is also available for conferences, wedding, and other events. The University of Jamestown Jimmies are part of the NAIA’s Great Plains Athletic Conference. We have 18 teams including a Division 1 Hockey team, as well as a Division 2 Hockey team, an e-sports team, and shooting sports. We are also home to the #4 Women’s Volleyball team in the nation! More than 50% of our full-time students participate in at least one sport. Other areas of activities for our students include band, choir, and musical and dramatic theatre, among more than 40 other student organizations. We encourage our entire campus to be supportive members of the Jamestown community and are proud of the contributions they have made, and continue to make, to our hometown.
I hope you enjoy your time in Jamestown and invite you to stop up and see us!
Sincerely, Dr. Polly Peterson President, University of Jamestown
