IPPA NEWS UPDATE IPPA European Team Championship. 16 – 18 March in Alicante At last, after the winter and three months without any Tournaments, it was time to celebrate the third IPPA European Team Championship at El Plantio Golf with its excellent nine hole course. First, it was with a great pleasure to meet the teams again and to see how they greeted and hugged each other. There were no sign of competitively and revality, no it was like a reunion of the Pitch and Putt family, as always. Friday 16 was the day for practice rounds, Captain meeting and the Gala Dinner with presentation of the teams. Saturday morning begun with blue sky, sun, pleasant temperature and little windy. First to tee off the fourballs match was the Italian Team with Gianpiero Brangero and Barbara Nejrotti and they did well with four under.

The first round was a competition between Team Portugal Hugo Espitito with 7 under par closely followed bu two Spanish Teams, Team Eustaquio with 6 under par and Team Juan P. Monjo with 5 under par. Second round in the afternoon became more difficult for all teams with higher scores. Team Portugal Hugo Espirito maintained their leading position followed by Team Spain Juan P. Monjo.

But at the end the Portugal team was the one who had the nerves under control and was in control of the match and finally had the victory and became the Champions of the third European Team Championship with 11 under par.
