招生成績斐然

Outstanding Admission Results

隨著 105 學年度少子化海嘯向大學逼近, 高等教育市場已進入白熱化的競爭。本校學 生數近三年仍持續穩定,實屬難得。截至 105 學年度,學生總人數為 10,582 人,新生註冊 率逾八成,105 學年度甄選入學第二階段預計 錄取 1,298 人,共 3,339 人次報名,較去年 成長 15.7%,招生成績斐然。

With the sudden and rapid drop of the number of incoming students for the 2016 Academic Year, competition in the higher education market has become fiercer than ever. However, CJCU has been able to maintain our student enrollment at the same level for nearly three consecutive years. As of the 2016 Academic Year, the total student population is 10,582 with a freshman enrollment rate of over 80 percent. In addition, our recruitment also achieved great success with 3339 applicants entering the second stage of admission by recommendation and screening; the school intends to offer admissions to 1298 applicants, which represents a growth of 15.7 percent compared to the previous academic year.

營造優質學習環境 為能充分符合全體教職員生的教學和學 習需求,近一年來,總務處啟動各項整建與整 修工程,包括校園馬路柏油重新鋪設 ( 第一教 學大樓北、西側及圓環向東、向南至生態池 段 ),提供學生安全之學習環境;第一教學大 樓西側廁所改建,增建第三教學大樓地下室空 調冷氣。同時,更新第二宿舍寢室書桌及床 組,並汰換第三宿舍東棟空調主機,提升宿舍 生活機能。 在校園的規劃方面,今年完成校門意象 建築建置,及四十米路的入口意象工程,嶄新 的 CJCU 標誌形成日夜清晰可見的地標,創造 入口的新氣象,引導師生平安進出長大。行政 大樓前的萬福之泉,經過調整和維修能夠定時 噴水,象徵全能真神萬福恩源,主賜恩典湧流 不斷。

Create an Excellent Learning Environment In order to meet the demands of faculty, staff, and students for teaching and learning, the Office of General Affairs has launched various new construction and remodeling projects, including repaving the asphalt roads on campus (north and west sides of the First Academic Building, east and south of roundabout to the pond), to provide a safer learning environment for our students. Other projects include renovation of restrooms on the west side of the First Academic Building and installment of air conditioners in the basement of the Third Academic Building. At the same time, desks and beds in the Second Student Dormitory have been renovated, and the air conditioners in the east hall of the Third Student Dormitory have been replaced to enhance the accommodation condition. In terms of campus planning, imagery architecture has been added to the campus gate and entrance area, which became visible landmarks of the school, day or night. These landmarks represent safe entry and growth for our faculty and students. After adjustment and renovation, the fountain in front of the Administrative Building now pours water on a routine basis, which symbolizes continuous blessings from our Almighty God. Nighttime lightings have been enhanced for the two passageways between the Third Academic Building and Activity Center. The passageways are also decorated with artworks made by students from the Fine Arts Department, which represent the artistic skills of our students. In addition, passageways near the Ecological Lake and Gymnasium have been rebuilt to improve convenience. 真理必叫你得以自由 ( 約翰 8:32) The Truth Shall Make You Free(John 8:32)

環境教育推動成績豐碩 長榮大學對環境維護與生態保育的投入 不遺餘力,多年來累積豐碩的成果與經驗,包 括成立河川保育中心、推動監控二仁溪水質、 建立河川志工監測及巡守制度以及促進社區 居民與公部門代表晤談等業務。 2016 年長榮大學與國際珍古德教育及保 育協會合作,成立環境教育國際實驗學院,下 設國際珍古德根與芽生態教育中心及永續發 展國際學位學程。透過未來大學彈性學制,讓 學生以行動學習、問題導向方式進行環保實作 專題、專題與流域發展議題、環保協力造屋、 社區參與、綠色大學推動結合,使教育具有實 用與社會性。 2015 榮獲台南市推動環境教育績優獎肯 定後,2016 年再獲國家級環境教育獎學校組 特優,本校積極推動環境教育,落實行動學 習,分別從復育二仁溪、通識課程創新發展、 校園環境改造、建置節能計畫、產學合作發展 節能耕水機、推動社區環境教育、積極參與氣 候變遷與教育知能推廣等方面實踐環境保育 的社會責任,朝國際綠色大學目標邁進。

Environmental Education Yields Great Achievement CJCU has devoted a great deal of energy to protecting our environment and ecology, and we have accumulated much experience and achievements. In recent years, we established the River Restoration Center, promoted water quality monitoring of Er-ren River, constructed a monitoring and patrol system by river volunteers, and facilitated meetings between community members and government officials. In 2014, we founded the ECO-Center and implemented eco-environmental education into our service learning and general education courses. In 2016, CJCU cooperated with the Jane Goodall Institute Taiwan to establish the International College of Practice and Education for the Environment. The International Jane Goodall Roots & Shoots Center and an international bachelor's degree program in Sustainable Development were set up under the same college. Through a more flexible educational system, students are able to use mobile learning and a problem-based method to work on topics related to environmental protection, watershed development, eco house building, community participation, and integration with eco universities, which offer more practicality and sociality to our education. After receiving an award from Tainan City for promoting environmental education in 2015, CJCU received the National Environmental Education Award (School Group) in 2016. We actively promote environmental education and implement mobile learning. We fulfill our social responsibilities for environmental protection through cleaning the Er-ren River, innovation of general education courses, renovation of campus environment, implementation of energy-saving projects, introduction of biofan via industry- academia cooperation, promotion of community environmental education, as well as active participation in discussions related to climate change and education knowledge. Our goal is to become an international eco university one day.

長榮大學與國際珍古德教育及保育協會合作,成立環境教 育國際實驗學院,下設國際珍古德根與芽生態教育中心及 永續發展國際學位學程。 Using environmental education and protection as a basis, CJCU managed to integrate resources from mobile learning, eco-environment education, and watershed development to establish the International College of Practice and Education for the Environment, the International Jane Goodall Roots & Shoots Eco-Center and an international bachelor's degree program in Sustainable Development with support from the Jane Goodall .

社會責任表現出眾 本校以邁向永續經營為最重要的承諾與 使命,於 2016 年首度公開發行第一本永續報 告書,參與「2016TCSA 台灣企業永續獎」, 榮獲企業永續報告類 - 非營利組織金獎。發行 目的是向所有關心長榮的利害關係人傳達長 榮在治校理念、教學研究、社會責任、環境永 續,以及教職生關懷上的努力與績效表現,並 揭露在經營管理的推動成果與策略目標。 為能彰顯教會辦學的社會責任,李泳龍 校長率領管理學院林傑毓院長及多位主管於 11 月 28 日拜訪尤努斯基金會,並與基金會 簽署合作備忘錄,雙方將在本校成立全台灣第 二所、南台灣第一所「長榮大學尤努斯社會型 企業中心」,期能整合本校教學與研究資源, 提供社會企業營運具體管理建議,推展社會企 業理念,達成解決社會問題的目標。 此外,每年配合聖誕月的各項慶祝活動, 與大潭社區結合,辦理聯合點燈、社區報佳 音、聖誕感恩禮拜、二仁溪根與芽動物嘉年華 會,透過社區營造與參與,將本校的辦學理念 以行動方式分享社區,並拉近彼此關係,讓社 區居民與本校的教職員生能相互交流學習彼 此相互關心,創造良好的學習環境。

Outstanding Demonstration of Social Responsibilities Sustainable management of the university is our most important promise and mission. CJCU published its first ever Sustainability Report in 2016, and participated in the 2016 TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards, winning the NPO Gold Award in the Corporate Sustainability Report. The purpose of publication is to allow our stakeholders to understand our management concept, academic research, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability, as well as the efforts and achievements made by our faculty, staff, and students. Through this Sustainability Report, CJCU can also disclose our management achievements and strategic targets. In order to demonstrate our social responsibility as a Christian university, President Yung-Lung Lee and Dr. Chieh-Yu Lin, Dean of the College of Management, visited the Foundation for Yunus Social Business with many school supervisors on November 28th to sign an MOU. Both parties agreed to establish a CJCU Yunus Social Business Research Center on campus, which will be the second in Taiwan and the first in Southern Taiwan. We also hope to integrate our education and research resources by providing concrete management advice to social enterprises, and promote concepts of social enterprise to achieve our ultimate goal of solving various social problems. In addition, every December, the school works closely with Da-tan Community to host various Christmas activities, such as Christmas lighting, Christmas carols, Christmas worship, and Er-ren River Roots & Shoots Animal Festival. Through these types of community participation, CJCU hopes to share our school mission with the local community and bring us closer to our neighbors. We encourage our faculty, staff, and students to interact with local residents and show concern for each other in order to establish a positive learning environment.

本校成立全台灣第二所、南台灣第一所「長榮大學尤努斯 社會型企業中心」,期能整合本校教學與研究資源,提供 社會企業營運具體管理建議,推展社會企業理念,達成解 決社會問題的目標。 The CJCU Yunus Social Business Center is the second of its kind in Taiwan, and the first in Southern Taiwan. The Center integrates teaching and research resources, and provides suggestions regarding how to manage a social enterprise. The Center will promote the spirit of social entrepreneurship to achieve the goal of solving social problems.

Excellence in Teaching

大學的高等教育必須落實在教學品質的 保證,教務處教學品保中心努力建立卓越的自 我改進機制,向世界的品質標準邁進,希望能 以自我克責的態度,讓長大學生的學習可以持 續改進,並能達到學用合一的目標。

College education should emphasize teaching quality. The Teaching Quality Assurance Center endeavors to establish an excellent self-improvement system in order to allow the university to comply with global quality standards. We expect all faculty and staff to demonstrate self-responsibility so that the learning experience of our students can continue to evolve, while achieving the goal of practicing what one learns.

本校之校務研究中心,積極以科學研究 的精神,建立大數據的探索架構,以學生學習 為中心,整合投入與成果資訊,作為教學自我 改進的重要驅動力,冀望成為卓越的高等教育 典範。自 104 年起本校屢獲教育部肯定,總 計通過 7 個專案計畫,包括增能計畫、起飛 計畫 (300 萬元 )、高中優質計畫 (45 萬元 )、 區域計畫 (45 萬元 )、大學提升校務專業管理 能力計畫 (1,500 萬元 )、教育部補助辦理大學 學習生態系統創新計劃 (70 萬元 ) 和智慧生活 整合性人才培育特色大學計畫 (400 萬元 ), 總補助經費為 2,360 萬元。另外,本校 105 年度獲教育部獎勵私立大學校務發展經費為 6,530 萬元,較去年增加 530 萬元。

Our campus affairs research center attempts to follow the spirit of scientific research to construct a framework to explore big data, and integrate input and outcome information centered on student learning, as this would act as a critical driver behind teaching self-improvement. CJCU's goal is to be a model of excellent higher education. Starting 2015, we have been recognized by the Ministry of Education on several occasions and received funding for seven projects worth 23.6 million NT dollars. The projects include the ability enhancement project, the take-off project (3 million NT), the high school excellence project (0.45 million NT), the regional project (0.45 million NT), the campus affairs professional management ability improvement project (15 million NT), the MOE-subsidized ecological system innovation project (0.7 million NT), and the smart life integrative talent cultivating university project (4 million NT). In addition, the Ministry of Education has awarded 65.3 million NT to CJCU as funding to encourage private universities to develop their campus affairs, which represents a 5.3 million NT increase from last year.

積極投入研究

Active Research Participation

在研究表現部份,有效整合校內研究資 源,教師積極投入跨領域研究,包括已獲得科 技部補助 104 學年度「全球架構下的台灣發 展:典範與挑戰」跨學門二年期整合性計畫; 同時,也獲得經濟部補助 104 年度捐助公民 營機構設置中小企業創新育成中心計畫,本 年度也招募 7 家進駐廠商。此外,為輔導本 校學生創業,除建置宿舍創業基地(Eureka) 外,更於台南市民生路原大圓鐵工廠舊址建置 「Big O 長大夢想空間」和新營區南瀛綠都心 設置「台南青年創業基地 BIG O2」,今年度 成立「O PLUS 創新設計工坊」,提供青年創 意製造與創業實習的場域。本校亦成立「新創 事業籌備處」,邀請傑出校友小鎮文創有限公 司負責人何培鈞先生擔任籌備處執行長,共同 推動校園新創事業。

In the area of research, CJCU effectively integrates research resources and encourages our faculty to take part in interdisciplinary researches. We have received a subsidy for the 2015 Academic Year from the Ministry of Science and Technology to implement a 2-year integrated interdisciplinary project known as “Taiwan Under Global Framework: Model and Challenge.” At the same time, CJCU has also received a subsidy from the Ministry of Economic Affairs to implement a project to establish an SME Innovation and Incubation Center in Public/ Private Enterprises for the 2015 Academic Year, and we have successfully attracted 7 companies. In addition, to assist our students in starting their own businesses, we have built a Dormitory Business Startup Base known as Eureka, the “Big O Growth and Dream Space” at the former site of Dayuan Iron Factory on Min-sheng Road in Tainan City, and the “Tainan Youth Business Startup Base BIG O2” at Nan-ying Green New City in Sinying District. CJCU also plans to establish the “O PLUS Innovation Design Workshop” during this academic year to offer our youth a place for innovative product and business startup internship. Lastly, our University will also establish a “Venture Business Preparatory Office”; we have invited one of our outstanding alumni, Mr. Pei-Jun He, the founder of Townway Corporation to serve as the CEO of the preparatory office and to promote venture business startups on campus.

長榮大學管理學院於 2016 年 1 月正式加入國際商管學院促 進協會 (AACSB) 會員,2016 年 8 月成立「AACSB 認證辦 公室」,並於 2 月 9 日於美國紐奧良的 IAC 會議後,IAC 委 員投票通過長榮大學管理學院初步認證資格審查。 The College of Management officially became a member of AACSB in January 2016. An AACSB Accreditation Officewas set up in August 2016. After the IAC Meeting in New Orleans on February 9th, IAC Members voted in favor of approving the Eligibility Application from the CJCU College of Management.

辦學成果獲肯定 為能有效扎根高中教育夥伴的關係,目 前入學服務中心服務超過全台 144 所高中, 本校更扮演重要的教育資源分享的角色,無論 高中連接高等教育學習所需的各項資源,我們 都能盡全力支援,創造合作學習的共同平台, 嘉惠更多學子。除了辦學績效在國內獲得肯定 外,本校更積極拓展國際交流,目前已與 78 所國際知名高等教育學校締結姊妹校,分布於 美國、加拿大、法國、奧地利、德國、日本、 韓國、泰國、馬來西亞、印尼、印度、菲律賓、 澳洲、中國及香港,提供學生交換學生、海外 實習、雙聯學制、暑期遊學、短期文化參訪研 習等學習機會。今年境外學位生新生 99 人, 新舊生數達 290 人,較 104 學年度 248 人成 長 17%;另今年來校交換學生 27 人,總計國 際學生人數共 317 人。在此同時,我們也積 極與國際知名大學合作,包括資訊暨設計學 院與澳洲昆士蘭科技大學簽訂雙聯學制協議, 學生可以透過兩階段學習,取得兩校的學士學 位,管理學院也與該校商學院簽訂相同雙聯學 制協議,積極創造本校學生前往國際學習的機 會。 更好的消息是,資設院各學系全數取得 IEET 國際認證,更能強化國際交流的實力, 而管理學院於今年已通過 ACCSB 華文商管學 院認證,並積極進行 AACSB 國際商學院促進 協會認證的申請作業,目前已通過第一階段前 導認證申請 EA(Eligibility Application)。系所 評鑑部份,本校系所已全數通過大學校院系所 第二週期評鑑,顯示本校的課程規劃、學術研 究、教學方式與學生學習成效等方面獲得評鑑 委員認同,辦學成果獲教育部肯定。我們深具 信心,用最好的辦學態度與品質,自我克責通 過評鑑,符合社會的期待。

Our University Achievements are Recognized In order to develop a close relationship with secondary education, our Admission Office now serves 144 high schools in Taiwan. CJCU also plays an important role of sharing educational resources; we endeavor to provide resources needed for high schools to connect with higher education. Such action will lead to a larger platform for joint learning and benefit more students. In addition to being recognized domestically for the way we run our University, we also work hard to expand our exchange with foreign institutions. CJCU currently has sister-school agreements with 78 higher education institutions well known around the world. We have sister schools in the United States, Canada, France, Austria, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, the Philippines, Australia, China, and Hong Kong. Our university provides learning opportunities, such as exchange students, overseas internship, dual degree, summer session, and shortterm cultural visit to our students. This year, CJCU just welcomed 99 new international students; the number of our international students now stands at 290, which represents 17% growth compared to the 2015 Academic Year when the number of international students was 248. In addition, we also have 27 exchange students at our university this year, which brings the total of international students to 317. At the same time, CJCU also works closely with world-renown institutions. For example, the dual-degree program between our College of Information and Design and Queensland University of Technology allows students to obtain a bachelor's degree from both universities through a 2-step learning program. Our College of Management also plans to sign similar agreement with QUT's Business School, which will give our students more opportunities to study abroad. Furthermore, all academic departments under the College of Information and Design have received IEET Accreditation, which enables CJCU to strengthen its international exchanges. Our College of Management has joined AACSB, and is applying for the AACSB Accreditation. Currently, the College of Management has already passed the first stage of Eligibility Application. In terms of departmental evaluation, all academic departments of CJCU have passed the second cycle of university evaluation. This signifies that the evaluation committee members and the Ministry of Education approve our curriculum planning, academic research, teaching methods, and student learning achievements. We are fully confident that we have met the expectations of society, and that our managing attitude and the quality of our University played a key role in helping CJCU to pass the evaluation.

發展基根穩固 為能因應未來高等教育的激烈競爭,本 校 103~107 年度中長程校務發展計畫,以學 生為學習中心,培養專業能力與正確態度,並 以六大策略目標,包括全人牧育,適性揚才, 教研精實,國際參與,校園永續,社會責任來 建立學生學習的優良環境。我們透過策略規劃 並尋求獨創的解決方案,鼓勵教師致力教研精 實,更著重基督教大學的全人牧育,致力學生 的國際移動力,豐富本國與外國學生的交流環 境,同時長期對 30 公頃校園投入基礎建設, 落實永續校園的目標。最重要的是面對社會責 任,擴大師生社會參與,推動全體教職員生合 一整合與合作,落實大學的普世價值,我們堅 信長榮大學必能成為國際卓越的基督教大學。

Stabilizing our Roots In response to the fierce competition of higher education in the future, our Mid- and Long-Term Academic Affairs Development Plan for the 2014~2018 Academic Year concentrates on student learning, in order to foster professional skills with a proper attitude. The plan includes six strategic goals to construct an excellent learning environment for our students, such as holistic pastoral education, talent development, refined research and teaching, global participation, sustainable development of campus, and social responsibilities. Through strategic planning and a unique problem-solving process, we encourage our faculty to refine their teaching and research skills, and emphasize the holistic pastoral education approach taken by Christian universities. At the same time, we also encourage students to expand their global mobility by providing a rich exchange environment for our domestic and international students. CJCU will continue to invest in campus infrastructure to achieve our goal of sustainable development. Social responsibility is our most critical task. We encourage our faculty, staff, and students to work together in promoting our universal values. 全人牧育 ‧ 長榮永續 面對全球化、經濟、科技、社會及人口 結構之迅速變遷,高等教育環境所形成的競爭 壓力日益增長,因此如何調整現有資源條件, 繼往開來、穩健務實的達成辦校之教育宗旨、 願景與使命,進而規劃出具前瞻性及系統性的 「校務發展計畫」,已成為目前大學卓越營運 及永續發展的必然趨勢。 長榮大學創校至今屆滿 23 年,在上帝的 恩典帶領和創校前輩的努力下,渡過蓽路藍 縷、萬種艱辛的日子。學生人數從 130 多人 發展,到現在 1 萬餘人,計有 6 個學院及 1 個學部,其中包含 41 個學系 ( 學程 )、19 個 碩士班、及 1 個博士班。本校財務健全、辦 學績效卓著,105 學年度大學部新生註冊率達 81.25%,不受少子化的衝擊與影響。而在畢 業生表現部分,2013 年商業週刊及 104 人力 銀行調查全國私立大學就業率,本校獲南部 私立大學第 1 名、全國大學第 16 名;Cheers 雜誌公布 2016 年 3000 大企業經理人 EMBA 評 價 調 查, 長 榮 大 學 EMBA 榮 登 南 部 地 區 Top 5。

Holistic Education and Sustainability Due to rapid changes of globalization, the economy, technology, society, and population structure, there are more and more competition and pressure in higher education. Consequently, it has become a trend for universities nowadays to joggle existing resources and carry forward the purpose, vision, and mission of the school. Meanwhile, a school development plan that is both visionary and systematic is also necessary in terms of management and sustainable development of a university. 23 years have passed since the founding of CJCU. Under the grace of God and the effort made by many school pioneers, the school has experienced many ups and downs. Our student population went from 130 students to over 10,000 students, with 6 colleges and 1 faculty, which include 41 academic departments (degree programs), 19 master's programs, and 1 doctoral program. CJCU is an excellent university both financially and academically. Our college freshmen registration rate for the 2016 Academic Year reached 81.25%, which shows a minimal impact caused by the declining birth rate. Regarding the achievements by our graduates, according to Business Weekly and a survey conducted by 104 Job Bank, CJCU placed first in employment rate among all private universities in Southern Taiwan, and 16th among all universities in Taiwan; according to the 2016 Cheers Magazine 3000 Manager EMBA Rating, our EMBA program placed in the top 5 spot in Southern Taiwan.

Progress ● Starting from the 2016 Academic Year, CJCU has implemented a warning and care system for students who are likely to apply for suspension of study or dropping out. This warning model received the Best Thesis Award at the Florida Association for Institutional Research Conference, and was invited to present the system at the 2017 Association for Institutional Research (AIR) Conference.

● The CJCU River Patrol Team received Outstanding Recognition at the 2016 Tainan City Water Environmental Protection Volunteer Contest (School Group) and the 2016 Water Quality Check Contest (School Group) in Tainan. ● Starting from the 2015 Academic Year, CJCU has participated in the Ministry of Education Takeoff Project. We are recognized by the MOE for offering a financial aid program, additional tutorial program, and a team of specialists for distressed or underprivileged students. ● For the 2015 Academic Year, the Teacher Development Division of the Teaching Resource Center received a grant from the Ministry of Education to promote MOOCs (massive open online courses). Professor Ping-Yuan Chen from the Department of Engineering & Management of Advanced Technology taught Intro to Electronics I, and Professor I-Ting Hsieh from the General Education Center taught Environmental Protection – The Root and Shoots of Formosa using the MOOC platform; 885 students enrolled in the two courses online. ● For the 2015 Academic Year, CJCU has internship agreements with 542 companies, an increase of 37.2% compared to 395 companies during the 2014 Academic Year; 1,336 students participated in the internship, which represents 59.57% of a graduating class of 2,243 students. Internship provides opportunities for students to take a sneak peek at the job market, and reduce the time it takes for a graduate to find a job after graduation. ● On June 6, 2016, the Environmental Protection Agency issued the 4th National Environmental Education Award and Environmental Protection Special Designation. CJCU received an outstanding score in the University Group, and was the only university to receive such recognition. We have become a true “Waterfront Green University.”

● 104 學年度 7 月統計之大學部英文畢業門 檻通過率為 68%,較去年成長 3%。 ●本校於 105 年 8 月 11 日再次榮獲「大專校 院健康促進學校實施計畫」整體績優獎, 連續兩年榮獲教育部肯定。 ●本校與法務部矯正署臺南監獄,於 2016 年 8 月 23 日簽署合作意向書,長榮大學首創 全國大學先例,於獄所開設學分班,雙方 為收容人教化工作共同努力。 ● 105 年 8 月本校首次發行企業社會責任報 告書,參與財團法人台灣永續能源研究基 金會舉辦「2016TCSA 台灣企業永續獎」 評選活動,榮獲企業永續報告類 - 非營利組 織金獎。 ●本校於學生第一宿舍設置「O PLUS 創新設 計工坊」,並於 105 年 11 月 28 日開幕, 適合青年進行創意製造與創業實習的場域, 並作為一個兼具實作教學與展演功能場域, 將校內各項資源作更便利的整合規劃。

● A statistic collected in July of the 2015 Academic Year showed that 68% of students have satisfied their English graduation requirement, a growth of 3% compared to last year. ● CJCU received an outstanding award from the “University Health Promotion & Implementation Project”, and has been recognized by the Ministry of Education for two consecutive years. ● CJCU signed an MOU on August 23, 2016 with Tainan Prison, Agency of Corrections, Ministry of Justice and became the first university in Taiwan to offer credit courses in prison. Both CJCU and the Ministry of Justice are working hard to achieve prisoner rehabilitation. ● In August, 2016, CJCU published a CSR report for the first time, and participated in the “2016 TCSA Taiwanese Enterprise Sustainability Award” hosted by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), in which CJCU took the Corporate Sustainability Report – NPO Division Gold Prize. ● CJCU set up the “O PLUS Innovative Design Workshop” at the First Student Dormitory on November 28, 2016. It is an ideal location for young people to carry out creative manufacturing and business startup internships. It is also a site that is capable of both trials and demonstrations, which facilitate a better integration of on-campus resources.

Important Achievements 管理學院 2016 年管理學院同學於校外競賽及證照 考取方面表現大放異彩,總計 205 人次獲得 地區性、全國性及國際性等重要比賽獎項,例 如經管所莊立民副教授指導謝瑩瑩碩士生論 文榮獲「2016 崇越論文大賞管理論文碩士組 優等論文獎」、EMBA 畢業生謝宗憲等 3 人 榮獲經理人月刊「2016 年第九屆 100 MVP 經理人」、國企系柯品瑜等 18 位同學參加 「2016 第六屆全國大專校院倫理個案分析暨 微電影競賽」榮獲全國第一名和優勝獎殊榮 等。 證照考試部分,通過人數達 748 人次, 包括 ERP 規劃師與軟體應用師認證、TBSA 商 務企劃檢定、IPMA 國際專案管理師、105 年 專門職業及技術人員普通考試華語領隊與導 遊認證等商管領域重要證照。 另外,經管所博士班陳亭妃同學高票當 選「中華民國第 9 屆立法委員」、經管所博 士班陳威仁同學及王正坤所友獲聘為「中華民 國行政院政務顧問」。

College of Management Our students demonstrated excellent achievements in the area of off-campus competitions and certification exams; 205 students won various prizes from regional, national, and international competitions. For example, Ying-Ying Hsieh from the Graduate School of Business and Operations Management received the “2016 TSC Thesis Symposium - Excellent Master's Thesis in Management” with the supervision of Professor Li-Ming Chuang, and EMBA graduate Tsung-Hsien Hsieh and two students received the “2016 9th 100 MVP Managers” from the magazine Manager Today. In addition, Ping-Yu Ko and 17 students from the Department of International Business received 1st Prize and Outstanding Award from the “2016 6th Intercollegiate Ethic Case Study Analysis and Microfilm Competition.” In the area of certification exams, 748 students obtained important certifications related to business and management, such as ERP and Software Application Certification, TBSA Business Planner Certification, IPMA International Project Manager Certification, and the 2016 Junior Examination for Professional and Technical Personnel: Chinese Tour Guide and Tour Manager. In addition, Ting-Fei Chen, doctoral student from the Graduate School of Business and Operations Management, was elected to the 9th Legislative Yuan, while doctoral student Wei-Jen Chen and ChengKun Wang from the Graduate School of Business and Operations Management were hired as Executive Yuan Consultants.

Competitions

2016 年健康科學學院同學在考取證照部 份成績斐然,通過包括甲級職業安全管理證 照、甲級廢棄物處理專業技術人員證照、乙級 職業安全衛生管理證照」、專門職業及技術人 員高等考試營養師考試、食品安全管制系統 HACCP 認證、烘焙食品證照 ( 蛋糕丙級、麵 包丙級 )、台灣病歷資訊管理學會和醫學資訊 管理師等證照考試人次達 274 人。競賽部份, 保健營養學系同學參加「第 15 屆國立台北教 育大學全國硬筆書法比賽」,分別榮獲大專組 楷書第二名及大專組行書優選,醫管系榮獲 「2016 年健康照護聯合學術研討會」研究風 氣獎殊榮。

In 2016, students from the College of Health Sciences demonstrated excellent performance in their certification exams. 274 students passed exams, such as: Class A Occupational Safety Management Certification, Class A Waste Management Professional Specialist Certification, Class B Occupational Safety and Hygiene Management Certification, Nutritionist Certification, HACCP Certification, Bakery Certification (Class C for Cake and Bread), Taiwan Medical and Health Information Management Association and Medical Information Manager Certification. In the area of competition, students from the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences participated in the 15th NTUE Intercollegiate Calligraphy Competition and won 2nd Place in the Regular Script Group (University Division) and Honorable Mention in the SemiCursive Script Group. The Department of Health Care Administration also received a Special Mention Award for research environment at the “2016 Health Care United Academic Research.

人文社會學院 2016 年人文社會學院學生在地區性、全 國性及國際性重要競賽亦屢創佳績,共計 76 人次獲得重要獎項,包括媒體系吳郁姍參加 「臺北 2016 世界郵展同畫獲得同人漫畫創 作比賽」平信組第一名、媒體系陳秉凱參加 「2016 第 4 屆 MAKAPAH 美 術 獎 」 獲 得 攝 影類決選首獎、大傳系鄭如娟等 5 人參加「第 18 屆金傳獎廣播公益廣告獎」獲得優勝等。 取得證照人數達 161 人,例如通過日語檢定 N1 等級 5 人,N2 等級 32 人、通過企業倫理 認證及溝通談判策略分析師證照共 32 人、通 過市場行銷策略分析師共 38 人。另總計 22 人次通過 105 年公務人員高等考試三級考試 公職社會工作師、105 年專門職業及技術人員 高等考試取得社會工作師資格及 105 年衛生 福利部專科社會工作師等國家考試。

College of Humanities and Social Sciences Students from College of Humanities and Social Sciences demonstrated excellent achievements at regional, national, and international competitions in 2016; 76 students received important prizes, such as Yu-Shan Wu from the Department of Computer Aided Media Design winning the first prize in the Ordinary Mail Group at the “Phila Taipei 2016 World Stamp Championship Exhibition Doujinshi Manga Competition.” In addition, Ping-Kai Chen from the same department won the top prize in photography at the “2016 4th MAKAPAH Arts Award,” and JuChuan Cheng and 4 other students won the top prize for public service announcement at the “18th Golden Broadcast Award.” In addition, 161 students passed various certification exams. Among them, five students passed level N1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, 32 students passed level N2, 32 students passed the Business Ethics and Communication, and the Negotiation Strategic Analyst Certification Test, and 38 students passed the Marketing Strategy Analyst Certification Test. In addition, 22 students passed various national exams for social worker, such as: the 2016 Civil Service Exam for Social Workers, the 2016 Senior Examination for Professional and Technical Personnel: Social Worker, as well as the 2016 Ministry of Health and Welfare Social Worker Exam.

School of Theology

台灣唯一設置在大學學府中的神學教育, 提供給有志於基督教聖經與神學研究者,享有 自由的學術研究交流機會以及跨領域學科對 話的學習環境。本系目前有神學學士學位及神 學碩士學位等學制,以堅守 " 宣揚主愛、裝備 門徒、實踐真理 " 作為我們努力的異象。

We offer the only school of theology on a university campus in Taiwan and provide a learning environment that emphasizes liberal academic research and interdisciplinary communication for prospective Christian Bible and theological researchers. We offer a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in theology; the goal of the program is to “promote the love of God, train church laymen, and follow the Truth.”

在學生的團體靈修生活方面,每學期舉 辦期初靈修會、泰澤禮拜、敬拜讚美講座、夕 陽禮拜等不同型態禮拜的參與和學習。

Regarding group spiritual activities, we offer a wide range of worshiping activities every semester, such as the new semester spiritual gathering, Taizé worship, worship and praise lecture, sunset worship, etc., for our students to participate and learn.

強健體魄的運動比賽以及與台南神學院 學生會的球賽聯誼。 學生熱心參與服務社區的活動,例如聖 誕報佳音以及老人養護中心的關懷服務等。 學生周末前往地方教會參與主日學、青 少年團契等事工實習。 學術研究與提升 神 學 碩 士 班 每 周 舉 辦「 神 學 圓 桌 研 討 會」,邀請校內外老師、講員等分享研究成 果,也提供給碩士生做為論文計畫發表與學術 交流的平台。 與南華大學輪流舉辦宗教對話研究研討 會,2016 年在本校舉辦的主題是「苦難的宗 教意涵之探討」。

We also host sports competitions to allow our students to stay fit, as well as friendship games with the students' union of Tainan Theological College and Seminary. Our students also participate in various types of community services, such as Christmas caroling and care visits to seniors' homes. Students can also visit local churches on weekends to participate in various ministry internships, such as Sunday school and youth fellowship. Academic Research and Advancement: Our graduate program in theology hosts the weekly “theological roundtable seminar,” where teachers and lecturers from CJCU or other schools are invited to share their researches. Graduate students may also use the occasion to present their theses or conduct academic exchanges. CJCU and Nanhua University take turns to host a seminar on religious dialogue researches. The theme for the 2016 seminar at CJCU was “Explore the religious connotation of suffering.”

2016 年 本 校 學 生 通 過 英 文 證 照 達 CEF B1( 含以上 ) 共 1,926 人次,取得國內外的證 照為 2,645 人次和獲獎為 366 人次,以及通 過公職考試為 16 人。顯示學生在校學習後, 透過證照、競賽和考試展現本校學生的儲備就 業競爭力。

In 2016, 1926 students passed the CEF B1 (or above) English certification exam, 2645 students received various domestic/overseas certificates, 366 students received various awards, and 16 students passed the Civil Service Exam. These achievements illustrate the hardworking effort by our students in honing their professional competitiveness through these certifications, competitions, and exams.

在教學政策上落實「教學品保機制」的 品質管理,提升基礎學科能力,尊重個別差 異、適性適才,形塑學生就業即戰力,如英文 培力 (Empowerment)、資訊培力、專業實作 培力等項,並提供相關輔導補救措施。透過資 訊平台整合三級教育目標與核心能力,並追蹤 開設課程對應三級核心能力獲取情形,同時搭 配 UCAN 所建立之完整的共同與專業職能架 構,學生可自行檢視各階段學習軌跡,找出 需增能與修課的方向,導師亦可檢視學生各 階段、校內外學習成效及參與各項活動情形, 協助確認學生所學符合校、院、系預期目標。 學生從入學階段即啟動「長榮大學學生英語能 力追蹤計畫」、「長大職涯網」、「活動歷程 系統」、「TQC 資訊技能檢定」、「專業實 作力檢核」等作業,將大學各階段學習活動成 果彙整至學生學習履歷系統。

As part of our teaching policies, CJCU implements a “teaching quality assurance system” to improve basic subject abilities, respect differences, customize the curriculum based on the characteristics and talents of students, and enhance their job-seeking abilities, such as empowerment in English, information, professional practicality, etc., while offering students relevant counseling and tutoring measures. We integrate the goals and core values of tertiary education through an information platform, and conduct follow-ups to ensure that the courses we offer can match the targets of tertiary education. At the same time, we also take advantage of common and professional skills framework established by UCAN, and offer students opportunities to review their learning track and receive advice on how to increase their abilities and guide their future course enrollment direction. Homeroom teachers can also monitor students' learning condition and activity participation at each stage on or off-campus to make sure they can achieve the expected targets of the department, school, and university. The “CJCU Student English Ability Tracking Plan,” “Job-Seeking Network”, “Activity Participation Record System”, “TQC Information Skills Certification,” and “Professional Practicality Check-sheet” are activated upon students' admission, and these results will then be uploaded onto a student's learning record system.

In terms of curriculum structure, all the academic departments are implementing curriculum reform known as “three outcome-based” modes of curriculum construction, which are modularization, curricularization, and specialization. Our curriculum is profession-oriented, as we offer a series of courses under a professional module. Interdisciplinary curricularizationis complemented by specialization. To cultivate a wide range of different talents, we split these professional modules into academic-type and practical-type. In the practical-type modules, we offer a variety of internship courses while hiring instructors with professional experience, to heighten students' understanding of the professional world. At the same time, we also encourage our own faculty to obtain similar professional experience during their available time. To strengthen the learning environment for our students, we have established a “student-centered” counseling mechanism capable of enhancing their learning motivation and effects through deep coursework counseling. The mechanism also offers a variety of self-learning activities for students to enhance their competitiveness, as well as complete electronic coursework counseling, career planning, and care mechanism. These systems integrate consultation with care actions, which allow us to track, monitor, and facilitate students' learning progress in order to implement appropriate counseling that can stimulate learning motivation and enable education to become part of our lives. To improve the learning environment of our students, we have already completed various construction works, such as the university gate, ecological teaching center, and new classrooms, in addition to the renovation of existing equipment. We will also add a church in the future to make the study space better. In addition, to improve a “student-centered” counseling mechanism, CJCU will integrate lifestyle, coursework, and job consultation to establish a program that allows specialists such as the homeroom teacher, life teacher, class teacher, pastor, psychologist, health experts (nurse, nutritionist, physical education teacher), professional counselor, and job support teacher to look after our students. We will merge this project with the MOE Take-Off Project and supply comprehensive assistance and care for students from their admission to graduation. We would like our students to possess future employment abilities, and create more numerous diverse opportunities.

為順應世界研究潮流─跨領域創新,鼓勵 教師發展第二專長、發展多元教師升,本校規 劃引導跨領域的完善流程,包含教師研究發 展社群推廣、跨域整合計畫執行、研究生論文 研究及儀器硬體設備之獎勵補助,強化同儕 專業激盪、增進教師研究能量,提升教學成 效,引領師生共同創造實務之研發成果。本校 於 2016 年遴選出 24 名教學優良獎、2 名教 學特優獎、1 名教學卓越獎。教師之專業成長 社群跨領域及跨校社群持續成長,教師創作獎 助、學生獲獎獎勵及師生參與國際研討會頻繁 且踴躍。

In response to a new global trend in research; interdisciplinary innovation, CJCU encourages faculty members to develop a second specialization and promote multiple promotion tracks. We have a complete flow chart for interdisciplinary planning, including promotion of faculty research development social groups, execution of interdisciplinary integration projects, and establishment of financial aid for graduate thesis research, and instruments and hardware. Our goals are to strengthen professional stimulation among colleagues, increase faculty research capacity, and enhance teaching effects so that faculty and students can join hands in creating practical research achievements together. 24 faculty members were chosen to receive the Superior Teaching Award, two were chosen to receive the Outstanding Teaching Award, and one was chosen to receive the Excellent Teaching Award in 2016. Interdisciplinary and intercollegiate social groups for faculty development continue to thrive, while more and more faculty members and students apply to receive subsidies for faculty publishing or receiving a prize at a competition. Furthermore, faculty members and students' participation in international conferences also became more active and frequent.

全英專業授課認證 確保教學品質 為控管本校全英文學程之教學品質,增 進教師全英授課職能,提供師資認證機會, 並且因應國際財務與商務管理學院學程之成 立,本校於 104 學年度辦理「全英專業授課 認證」,以本校健康科學領域和資訊暨設計領 域教師為主要認證對象,共計 26 位教師通過 認證。參與教師除須參加座談會、工作坊外, 尚須通過教學實作 ( 試教 ),符合篩選標準者, 方授予認證研習證書。

All-English Course Certification to Guarantee Teaching Quality To manage the teaching quality of all-English courses at CJCU and to enhance our faculty members' abilities to teach courses in an all-English environment, we offer opportunities for faculty members to be certified. In response to the establishment of a Bachelor Degree Program of International Finance and Business Management, we began the process of “All-English Course Certification” starting from the 2015 Academic Year, with faculty members from Health Sciences and Information & Design as main targets; 26 faculty members were certified. These faculty members had to participate in various forums and workshops, while receiving a passing grade for trial teaching. Only faculty members who have received satisfactory results may receive the certificate.

To strengthen creation, innovation, and entrepreneurship on campus, we actively train instructors to be proficient in these areas. In addition to theory, trends, and concepts, we also use demonstration of actual examples to create a greater number of excellent seed instructors among our innovative and creative teaching resource. In order to cultivate students capable of the entrepreneur spirit, we encourage students to participate in various topic discussions and innovative & entrepreneurship competitions.

We have established a creation-innovationentrepreneurship program and hired professional instructors. We also host business startup seminars for young people, entrepreneurship coach consultation, certification exam seminar, and internship visits. Companies we have visited include: solar energy industry, photoelectric industry, biotech companies, Southern Taiwan Science Park, transportation industry, pharmaceutical companies, mass media, banking and insurance companies, national training centers, and department stores. We also offer courses related to environmental protection. To improve “self-learning,” and “deep learning,” we offer courses with micro units and deep-bowl courses. Students can choose courses they are interested in through a theme-centered learning method to obtain the units they need. In addition, through an innovative curriculum design, we hope our students can learn to a greater depth. To accommodate environmental policies, such as environmental protection and resource sustainability, we offer courses in these areas to raise our students' awareness and responsibilities towards protecting the environment. We have also created a radar chart illustrating students' core abilities, and refined our course map and career path chart. Our curriculum meets the global trend and demands of the job market. With training of core abilities in relevant fields, our students can enter the job market immediately upon graduation and become citizens that can adapt to any world market.

In response to globalization and internationalization, we are actively promoting international exchanges. Currently, we cooperate with many schools located all over Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania. By 2016, CJCU had 78 sister schools, providing our students with many learning opportunities, such as exchange student program, overseas internship, dual degree program, summer session, and short-term cultural visit, etc.

採用財團法人語言訓練中心極具公信力 之大專生英語能力測驗(CSEPT);依測驗結 果調整英語授課方式,協助學生於畢業前取得 相當於多益 700 分之認證,提高學生職場競 爭力。

We also encourage our students to participate in the credible CSEPT exam designed by LTTC; we adjust our teaching method based on exam scores and assist our students to reach the same level equivalent to 700 points from TOEIC before graduation, to increase students' professional competitiveness.

「台南青年創業基地 BIG O2」,透過創業群聚效益,協助青年提升職能、促進就業、多元創業培力之發展。 "Tainan Youth Business Startup Base BIG O2" is a place that gathers people interested in starting a business. The base assists young people in increasing their professional abilities, promotes employment, and fosters empowerment of diverse entrepreneurship.

台南青年創業基地 BIG O2 為協助青年實踐創業夢想,同時讓他們 在台南發光發熱,進而促進台南地區在地經濟 發展,本校於 104 年 9 月於台南市新營區南 瀛綠都心地下層閒置空間設置第二間校外基 地「台南青年創業基地 BIG O2」。 藉由舉辦手作工作坊及創業練工坊等系 列活動,聚集青年創業家及當地民眾在基地內 共同創作及分享創業心得,並透過聚會活動找 尋志同道合之夥伴,凝聚空間之創業氛圍。

Tainan Youth Business Startup Base BIG O2 In order to assist young people to achieve their dream of starting a business and inject more vitality in Tainan to promote local economic development, CJCU established a second off-campus base known as the “Tainan Youth Business Startup Base BIG O2” in the basement of Nanying Green Metropolis in Sinying District. By hosting workshops and seminars, the base offers a place for young entrepreneurs and local residents to create and share business stories with one another, while looking for new business partners through such gatherings.

CJCU's Innovation and Incubation Center was established merely 4 years ago. Although our Center is less experienced compared to other incubation centers in Taiwan, the position of our Center is nonetheless clear, and we have demonstrated outstanding performance in the area of social entrepreneurship incubation. We have successfully incubated various social enterprises and gradually established a settlement for social enterprises. In addition, we have ignited the passion of those young people who are willing to start a social enterprise and become an important driving force behind the development of social enterprises in Taiwan.

To support the successful development of social enterprises originated from Taiwan, CJCU hosted the “2016 ISE Talks” on November 18, 2016 to foster business opportunities. We invited 11 new social enterprise groups, 38 resource resources organizations, and 86 guests to attend.

為提供更全方位、更有力道的發展資源 支持社會企業,該活動亦兼具 B2B 的社企倡 議效益,讓更多企業團隊更了解社會企業,進 而支持社會企業。

三創教育 本校創新育成中心透過三創活動 ( 創意、 創新及創業 ) 與課程學習培育學生創意思考、 解決問題能力,進而鼓勵其自主提案,嘗試以 現有資源舉辦校內活動,藉此瞭解創業流程並 實踐心中理念。 此外,三創教育除了課程、系列講座、 戰鬥營與工作坊之外,營造學生自主學習風氣 並增加校內學生跨域交流機會與創新技能培 養,育成中心運用學生放假期間開設課程,課 程內容包括攝影技術、3D 列印技術、雷雕機 操作與各機台軟體操作。

To provide an all-around and stronger development resource to support social entrepreneurship, the event also served as a B2B Social Enterprise Initiation to allow more companies and enterprises to understand about social enterprises, in order to obtain their support.

Creation, Innovation, Entrepreneurship Activities Our Innovation and Incubation Center trains students in developing their creative thinking and problem solving skills through CIE (Creation, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship) activities and courses. Our goal is to encourage students to come up with their own proposals and conduct on-campus activities using existing resources. By so doing, students will be able to understand the SOP behind starting a business and achieve the goals in their minds. In addition, CIE Education includes courses, lectures, boot camps, and workshops. The goal is to foster a self-learning environment to increase interdisciplinary exchange opportunities and innovative skills cultivation for CJCU students. The Incubation Center offers courses during summer and winter vacations, such as Photography, 3D Printing, Laser Engraving Machine Operation, and Software Application.

O Plus Innovative Design Workshop CJCU O Plus Innovative Design Workshop is a large-scale comprehensive workshop that integrates the manpower and resources from the College of Information and Design and the Office of Research and Development. The workshop includes a stage for speech delivery, exhibition space with 3D printer and scanner, laser engraving machine, VR interactive installation research area, and trial manufacturing space for bamboo handicrafts and metalwork. In order to allow the creators to advertise themselves during the process of innovation and commercialization, we have set up a digital photo studio that facilitates marketing and promotion of these creative products. In the future, we hope to offer services such as experience courses and workshop rental in order to expand the scope of our services.

為提升本校學術研究風氣、開闊師生視 野,並促進與外界學術交流,除原訂之教師 「學術研究獎 ( 補 ) 助辦法」、「學生學術研 究獎補助辦法」、「學術專題講座實施要點」、 「舉辦學術活動補助辦法」、「教師研究發展 社群實施要點」等辦法之外,另新訂「跨領域 整合型研究計畫獎補助辦法」、「新進教師研 究補助辦法」及「國際合作研究計畫補助辦 法」,致力於研究啟航與跨域整合雙軌併行, 鼓勵教師進行研究。

In order to elevate the general mood of academic research on campus, broaden the perspective of faculty members and students, and foster academic exchanges with the outside world, we have made the following regulation changes. In addition to the “Faculty Academic Research Incentive/Subsidy Regulation”, “Student Academic Research Incentive/Subsidy Regulation”, “Implementation Directions for Academic Lectures”, “Regulation for Subsidizing Academic Activities”, and “Implementation Directions for Faculty Research Development Social Groups,” we have also added the “Regulation for Subsidizing Interdisciplinary Integrative Research Project”, “New Faculty Research Subsidy Regulation,” and “Regulation for Subsidizing International Cooperative Research.” The goal is to proceed with research and interdisciplinary integration at the same time in order to encourage faculty members to conduct research.

In 2016, CJCU gathered a team of researchers and received a grant from the Ministry of Science and Technology for an interdisciplinary integrative project worth 2,028,500 NT on the “Effect Analysis and Adaptation Strategies on the Impact of Climate Change towards the Tribal Environment of Indigenous People in Southern Taiwan.”

為鼓勵師生共同合作,增加學生創造力與學習樂趣,由生 物科技學系系主任黃琮濱及蚊蟲生態與防治專家陳錦生教 授,帶領學生成功研發「加綠利天然香氛凝凍」。

職達外語與本校於 9 月開始進行產學合作,共同製作「外 語通」APP,雙方於 12 月 28 日簽訂企業家族合作備忘錄, 公開發表研發成果。

To encourage joint cooperation between faculty and students and to promote student creativity and learning, Professor Chih-Chao Chang, Chair of the Department of Biotechnology, and mosquito ecology and prevention specialist Professor Ching-Shen Chen assisted the students in developing a natural mosquito repellent.

CJCU signed an Industry-Academic cooperative agreement with JEDA in September to create the app “Language Tongue.” The MOU was officially signed on December 28 and the app was jointly introduced by both parties.

本校產學合作總中心負責產學合作之推 動、協助教師專利之申請與研發技術推廣等業 務,提供教師與各研究中心研發技術交流平 台,邀請校內外專家學者進行成果分享、交流 與腦力激盪,強化溝通及交流管道,並持續整 合校內研究中心與教學單位研發能量,透過企 業家族體系與產學協會推廣本校研發特色,以 協助產業技術升級、促進產學資源整合共享。

CJCU's Industry-Academia Cooperation Center is responsible for the promotion of Industry-Academia cooperation, and assists faculty members in patent application and promotion of R&D technology. The Center provides an exchange platform for faculty members and research centers to work on R&D. On and off-campus specialists and scholars are invited to share their achievements, conduct exchanges, brainstorm, and strengthen communication and exchange channels, while integrating the R&D energy between research centers and academic departments. With the help of entrepreneurs and industrial association, the Center can offer assistance in upgrading industrial technology, and promote integration and sharing of industry-academia resources.

Our mission is to solve local problems, restore core values, such as the friendly relationship between humankind and the environment, application of innovative technology, creation of brand value, etc. In order to integrate on and off-campus resources through interdisciplinary cooperation, we started to promote the establishment of new businesses in 2016, to accommodate the industrial development trend and achieve our development targets.

舉辦 Research Café 活動,邀請校外專家 學者與校內各專業教師或研究社群進行分 享,以促進教師間互相了解研究專長,並 協助組成團隊進行整合型研究及產學合作 計畫,帶動跨領域合作以增進研發能量。 We host Research Café and invite off-campus experts and scholars to share their research with faculty members or research social groups. Such events allow faculty members to understand each other's research strengths, which is critical in conducting integrative research and industryacademia cooperation agreements. Research Café can also stimulate interdisciplinary cooperation to boost R&D energy.

長榮大學是奉耶穌基督的聖名所設立的 基督教大學,隸屬具 150 年歷史「台灣基督 長老教會」之教育機構。以「全人牧育、長 榮永續」為基礎,透過五大教育設計(專業、 通識、生命、品格、生活),以及透過校務發 展策略之實踐,矢志邁向國際頂尖的基督教 大學。基督教大學的有限性在於沒有財團作 為經濟支持,也不像公立大學有政府的幫助, 但學校可以沒有壓力的把經費用在學生身上。 鑒於基督教教育講求教育平權,視供應有心讀 書的孩子「求學的權利」為一項很重要的辦學 責任。本校擬從教育本身肩負起社會責任,希 冀所牧育的每一位學生,均能成為打造公義社 會的種子,並將社會公義理念及行為散播到社 區、生態環境甚至國際上的每一個角落。

CJCU is a Christian university named after the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. We are an educational institution under the 150-year old “Presbyterian Church in Taiwan.” The university was established based on the idea of “holistic pastoral education, and everlasting glory.” Our eventual goal is to become one of the top Christian universities in the world through the Five Educational Emphases (Professionalism, General Education, Life, Character and Lifestyle) and our university affairs developmental strategies. The limitation of a Christian university is that we do not have financial groups behind us to offer financial support, and we do not enjoy the same governmental support like public universities do. Nonetheless, we have very little pressure to spend all our money on our students. Christian education emphasizes the importance of equal rights, and one of the social responsibilities for CJCU is to offer students who wish to study their studying rights. We will shoulder our social responsibilities through education, and hope that every student can become a seed for creating a just society. It is our hope to spread the ideas and actions related to social justice to every community, every ecological environment, and every corner of this world.

本校長年協助推動民眾參與河川守護工 作,並積極發展「水岸大學」的構想。對內推 行廚餘與水資源回收,規劃校園自然保護區、 擴大綠地,致力於環境保育,並參與「國際珍 古德協會」積極推動的「國際珍古德根與芽生 態教育中心」教育計畫,藉由國際生態教育中 心 (ECO-center) 的設立,提倡保育觀念、落 實保育計畫、推動環境教育「根與芽」(Roots & Shoots),105 年進一步成立「環境教育國 際實驗學院」,由珍古德博士擔任榮譽院長, 將環境教育之豐碩成果與經驗推廣至其他國 家,共同培育國際環保菁英人才,使本校成為 推動環境教育的重要基地,並串連世界其他參 與根與芽計畫的學校,增進學生及流域居民的 環境關懷與國際移動力。

CJCU has long been promoting the public's engagement in river protection works and developing the goal of becoming a “waterfront university.” We have been pushing for the recycling of kitchen waste and water resources, planning on-campus natural protection zones, expanding green areas, promoting environmental protection, and participating in the "International Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots EcoCenter" project backed by the Jane Goodall Institute. Through the establishment of an ECO-Center on campus, we hope to promote environmental protection thinking, implement protection plans, and promote the Roots and Shoots environmental education. In 2016, we established the International College of Practice and Education for the Environment with Dr. Jane Goodall serving as the Honorary Dean. We hope the College will promote our abundant achievements and experience on environmental education in other countries and cultivate elites in international environmental protection. CJCU wants to become an important base for the promotion of environmental education and work with other Roots and Shoots institutions to foster the care of nearby residents towards our environment, as well as our students' international mobility.

本校於二仁溪復育成果堪稱國內河川整 治典範,透過發展流域保育相關課程、以二仁 溪動物為主題舉辦動物嘉年華、辦理二仁溪流 域專題研究環境人文營、推動社區環境教育、 積極參與氣候變遷與教育知能推廣等方式實 踐環境保育之社會責任。

Our works on the restoration of Er-ren River can be used as a model for river restoration in Taiwan. In addition to offering courses related to river protection, we also host an animal carnival based on the wildlife found near Er-ren River, and a research and environment camp on Er-ren River, promote community environmental education, and actively engage in promotion of climate change educational knowledge to achieve our social responsibility to protect the environment.

11 月 20 日由本校與台南市政府、國際珍古德教育及保育協會、新豐高中等共同主辦「2016 根與芽動物嘉年 華」,並以河廊動物為創作主題,把垃圾變藝術。 On November 20th, CJCU co-hosted the 2016 Roots and Shoots Animal Carnival with Tainan City Government, the Jane Goodall Institute and Hsin-Feng Senior High School. The theme of the carnival was to turn garbage into art using the illustration of animals living near the river.

社會責任是本校積極推動的校務發展計 畫,透過美化校園,並與當地社區結合,讓學 校及鄰近地區成為充滿人文氣質的藝術社區, 邁向具有人文、休閒、環保特色的綠能大學城 願景。

Social responsibility is part of the university affairs development plan that we have been actively promoting. Through a beautified campus that integrates the local community, CJCU and its neighboring community have become an art community and a humanistic environment. Our vision is to become a green university town emphasizing the humanities, recreation, and environmental protection.

以藝術、人文導入社區,辦理多樣多元 公共合作活動。從校內外的公共藝術至尋找社 區的歷史人文故事,辦理大潭社區牆壁彩繪、 歸仁區彩繪圍籬活動,公共藝術由學校師生一 同聯手打造,除提供學生發揮所學、激發創意 的機會外,亦深入在地文化風情,增添歸屬感 和師生情誼。 本校亦向市政府申請自行車道延伸到二 仁溪,建置二仁溪文物館,與當地農民合作舉 辦農夫市集,節慶活動規劃,開設旅館英文 班,協助建置國際民宿網頁,打造背包客學習 中心。除此之外,本校亦接受台南市政府委 託,多次辦理推廣社區參與及社區培力育成活 動,包括辦理社區公民審議、能量學堂、在地 國小識讀及社區計畫成果展、社區體適能等活 動,實踐在地之社區共好並建構各社區之合作 網絡。

By introducing art and humanities into the local community, we are able to host various public events. From on and off-campus public artwork to history and community stories, we have hosted a wall painting event at Da-tan Community and fence painting event in Guiren District. Pubic artworks are jointly designed by our faculty and students, allowing students to apply what they have learned to their creative ideas. At the same time, the artworks can also enhance the local culture and create a sense of belonging, while enhancing the relationship between faculty and students. We have applied to Tainan City Government to extend the bicycle trail to Er-ren River. We will also set up an Er-ren River Museum, work with local farmers to host a farmers' market, plan events and activities, open hotel-related English courses, help B&Bs in setting up an international website, and establish a backpacker learning center. In addition, we have been appointed by Tainan City Government several times to host activities that promote community participation and community empowerment, such as hosting civic talk, energy academy, literacy class for elementary students, community project exhibition, and community physical fitness activities. The goal is to achieve common good in the community and establish a cooperative network.

本校於 4 月 21 日與高雄市茄萣舢筏協會舉行「長榮大 學環境行動學堂」(ECO-01)揭牌儀式,雙方並簽署 合作意向書,將協助規劃高雄市茄萣舢筏協會成為環境 行動學堂。 On April 21st, we hosted the unveiling ceremony for the CJCU Environmental Action Academy (ECO-01) along with the Qieding Association for Boats and Rafts in Kaohsiung City. Both parties signed an MOU, which will turn the Qieding Association for Boats and Rats into an academy for environmental action.

本校教育秉持「牧羊人精神」,尋找迷 羊有教無類及愛心關懷;以洗腳精神,待人處 世,謙卑服事、虛心學習,心靈改革的態度不 放棄任何一隻羊,特別照顧弱勢及迷失的孩 子。

Education at CJCU follows the spirit of the shepherd as we seek out lost sheep and offer education, love, and care for everyone. We devote ourselves to the foot washing spirit, self-cultivation, humble service, modesty, and spiritual reform. We do not give up on any sheep and we pay special care to those who are underprivileged or lost.

為發展校園多元文化特色,尊重多元文 化以及照顧少數族群,設置「原住民族學生資 源中心」及「原住民文物館」,落實服務於各 原住民族學生之工作,加強原住民學生在生活 與學習上的適應,達到提升學生的學習成效、 品質及發揮潛能,為社會、部落培育優秀人 才。

To encourage a diverse campus culture, we respect multi-culture and look after the minority groups. Our “Indigenous Student Resource Center” and “Indigenous Cultural Museum” offer services to indigenous students, especially in the area of life and learning adaptation. We believe this would improve the learning performance, quality, and potential of students and that these excellent talents will benefit society and their tribes as well.

針對身心障礙學生個別需求,校內設置 盲人與陪同愛心座、擴視機座位及愛心標示等 設施,提供相關資源以促進其學習及人際互動 適應,並辦理如混合障礙運動會等共融活動, 透過階段性的認識弱勢族群,加強校內教職員 生對身心障礙同學的認識與互動空間,將被動 式服務體驗提升為主動性服務,增加身心障礙 學生對生命之關懷及貢獻一己之力。

Regarding students with special needs, we have set up special seats for students who are blind or visually impaired as well as their partners. We also have a video magnifier and facilities designated for these students. In addition, we offer necessary resources to foster learning and interpersonal interaction, and host many activities such as sports festivals so that faculty and students can have more opportunities to learn, meet, and interact with these underprivileged students. We want to transform our services from passive to active, and allow students with special needs to show care towards life and make their own contribution.

本校特設立校牧室推動生命教育、關懷 服務、團契成長等,並設有仁愛基金幫助遭遇 急難的師生(每年編列獎助學金超過五千萬 元)。

Our Chaplain's Office offers life education, care service, worship, etc., and a grant is available to faculty and students who urgently need the money.(over 50 million NT of scholarship and grant per year).

本校訂定「長榮大學以學代工牧羊助學 計畫」,請學生運用課餘時間到校唸書並支 給工讀金,不必花大量時間跟體力在打工上, 不但能提升學業表現,也能紓解經濟壓力,另 外亦提供清寒救助、護羊計畫、與企業合作設 立助學獎助學金,為了讓更多弱勢學生受到照 顧,並於 104 學年度擴大鐵道 TA 課業輔導等, 讓經濟弱勢學生得以安心就學無後顧之憂。 最後,本校成立全台僅有的教職員工關 懷網,提供教職同仁 (1) 健康諮詢、(2) 家庭 親子關係、(3) 生活困擾、(4) 工作壓力、(5) 職場衝突、(6) 信仰靈命等方面的關懷諮詢, 藉由安排適當的專業人員來提供需要協助的 教職同仁相關諮詢建議。

The “CJCU Study for Work Shepherd Financial Aid Project” allows students to use their spare time to study at school and get paid, so that they do not need to spend a great deal of time and energy on their parttime job. This not only improves students' academic performance, but also relieves their economic pressure. In addition, we also offer financial aid to low-income students, Protect-the-Sheep Project, and encourage companies to set up scholarships so that underprivileged students can take advantage of them. We also expanded our TA school counseling program, which allows economically underprivileged students to study without concern. Lastly, CJCU is the only university in Taiwan that offers a comprehensive care network for our faculty and staff. We offer our faculty and staff consultation services for the following: (1) health, (2) parent-child relationship, (3) life troubles, (4) work pressure, (5) occupational conflict, and (6) faith and spirituality. We arrange specialists to assist faculty and staff who require necessary consultation.

國際處與入學服務處致力於本校師生國 際化,努力拓展境外學生生源,積極參與國際 組織,提升本校國際知名度,並與姊妹校師生 往來交流,拓展師生國際觀,並實施「國際青 年旅遊服務網計畫」開拓跨文化溝通視野,以 及推動國際日及國際週「築異世界 (Wonders of the World)」以延伸本校校園生活國際化 的動力,「GlobEEs 跨國教育體驗」更深入 體驗文化交流。

The Office of International Affairs and the Admission Office endeavor to internationalize our faculty and student body. We work hard to recruit more overseas students, actively participate in various international organizations, and increase our global visibility. We also encourage exchanges with faculty and students from our sister schools to expand the global mindset of our own faculty and students. We have established the “International Youth Travel Service Network Project” to explore cross- cultural communication, and promote International Day and International Week “Wonders of the World” to demonstrate the vitality of our internationalized campus life. We also offer “GlobEEs Global Education Experiences Program” for students who wish to engage in deeper cultural exchanges.

2016 Farewell Party.

一步一腳印 ‧ 境外在成長 本校自 102 學年第 30 次校務推動討論會 (2014.01.21) 議決辦理海外高中學校拜訪任務 起,開啟了本校海外招生新的一頁。105 學年 度起將僑生業務自國際事務處移轉至入學服 務處,使所有境外生 ( 含僑生、外籍生、陸生 及交換生 ) 行政業務整合於入學服務處。 ”一步一腳印”是本校近年在境外招生 的最佳寫照,延續 2015 年海外學校拜訪的努 力,2016 年本校多次前進馬來西亞、香港與 印尼棉蘭拜訪,並與當地的留台同學會建立聯 結;至 2016 年 12 月,累計拜訪馬來西亞 57 所中學、香港 29 所及印尼 13 所中學。期盼 藉由拜訪能將本校招收優秀海外學生的用心 及營造一個充滿尊重、愛與承擔社會責任的校 園文化,傳達至海外中學校園中。 2016 年 除 了 是 國 外 學 校 努 力 拓 展 的 一 年,也是本校積極參與華人教育的一年。於 2016 年 10 月底時,因應棉蘭榮耀堂華語事 工的需要,本校與榮耀堂簽訂合作協定,派遣 人力進駐,積極規畫在該教會設立華語文中 心。未來期待該處成為本校海外據點的典範哨 頭站。另外,本校也在馬來西亞留台聯總設立 「留台聯總長榮大學貸學金」,幫助有心來本 校就讀的馬來西亞華裔同學,減輕其經濟上的 困難。藉由這二項具體服務於境外同學母國的 教育需求,期待更多境外同學來到本校圓夢。

One Step at a Time, International Student Body The 30th University Affairs Promoting Meeting (1/21/2014) in the 2013 Academic Year decided to launch visiting high schools around the world, and opened a new page for our overseas recruitment and admission. Starting from the 2016 Academic Year, affairs related to overseas Chinese students have been transferred from the Office of International Affairs to the Admission Office, which now assumes all administrative affairs pertaining to international students (including overseas Chinese, foreign, mainland China, and exchange students). The phrase “One Step at a Time” best describes our efforts in recruiting international students. Continuing our effort in visiting overseas schools in 2015, CJCU embarked on a journey to visit schools in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Kota Medan in Indonesia, and connected with Indonesian alumni associations. Until December 2016, we visited 57 junior high schools in Malaysia, 29 in Hong Kong, and 13 in Indonesia. We hope to convey our desire to attract excellent overseas students to study at CJCU with a campus culture that values respect, love, and social responsibility to schools around the world. In addition to being a critical year for CJCU to explore possible connections with overseas schools, 2016 was also a year in which we actively engaged in education for the Ethnic Chinese. At the end of October 2016, in response to the demand of Chinese-speaking ministers from GKI Medan, CJCU signed a cooperative agreement with GKI Medan and dispatched personnel to Indonesia, while assisting in the establishment of a Chinese Center. In the future, we expect the Chinese Center to serve as a model and a beacon for our overseas presence. In addition, CJCU has also set up a “FAATUM CJCU Loan” program with the Federation of Alumni Associations of Taiwan Universities in Malaysia to lower the economic burden of Ethnic Chinese students who wish to study at CJCU. Through these two activities that cater towards the education of our international students at their country of origin, we hope to attract more international students to study at CJCU.

2016 年本校境外學位學生數已由 2012 年的 88 人,成長至 291 人;境外學位生來自 於 22 個國家,分佈於本校五個學院 25 個系 所。而 2016 年亦是國外夥伴學校與機構來訪 相當熱鬧與頻繁的一年,由「馬來西亞砂勞越 詩巫拿督張泰卿市長與團隊」、「 馬來西亞華 校董事聯合會總會 」 等 13 個海外學校與團體 來訪,帶來對本校的殷切期盼。希望經由本校 各單位的共同努力,能讓更多境外學生來校就 讀,讓本校學生來源更多元,積極促進校園國 際化發展,開擴本校同學國際視野,同時也讓 境外學生與台灣同學能夠自由自在的悠遊學 習於校園中,建構一個優質有質感的國際化校 園。 Christmas Farewell Party 2016.

In 2016, the number of international students increased from 88 in 2012 to 291. Our international students came from 22 countries and are studying at 25 different academic departments across 5 colleges. 2016 was also a year where a total of 13 schools and groups from overseas visited CJCU, including: “Mr. Yang Berhormat, Chairman of Sibu City Countil from Sarawak, Malysia” and “United Chinese School Committees' Association of Malaysia.” Through joint efforts by every organization at CJCU, we hope to admit more international students in the future and create a more diverse study body in order to transform the campus into a more internationalized environment. By doing so, we can enhance the global mindset of our students and allow international students and local students to study freely in an enjoyable learning environment. Our eventual goal is to create an outstandin.

Active Participation in International Organizations to Gain Visibility CJCU participates actively in various international organizations, such as the Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA), and the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UB). The 2016 ACUCA Biennial Meeting and the 21st ACUCA Meeting took place between the 13th and 16th of October, 2016 at DhyanaPura University in Bali, Indonesia. CJCU participants included: President YungLung Lee, Vice President Po-Ho Huang, and Professor Hye Kyung Park, Executive Secretary from the Office of International Affairs. During the meeting, President Lee and Vice President Huang discussed possible sister-school and exchange student agreements with seven ACUCA member schools, such as the University of PelitaHarapan (Indonesia). Through exchanges between students and faculty members from both sides at each other's campus, we hope to offer CJCU students more opportunities for global mobility and thereby increase our global competitiveness as we march towards the goal of an internationalized Christian university.

與姊妹校師生往來交流 拓展師生國際觀 102-104 學年度學生出席參與國際研討 會、座談會或工作坊等活動為 177 人次。本 校並接待來自國外之大學及其他學術團體, 104 學年度共計接待來訪外賓及團體共計 37 團 330 人。此外,新生從踏入長榮大學校門 開始,隨即展開「長大人」國際化與國際交流 的第一步,透過多元豐富的國際化學習環境 和師資,激勵大一新生對於外語學習的動機, 與未來參與交換生計畫的啟蒙。2016 年 8 月 21 日至 8 月 28 日與語言教育中心共同辦理 2016 新生暑期國際文化體驗夏令營 (Summer Camp),共計 6 國 11 所姊妹校 29 位國際學 生及 76 位本校學生參加。 透過辦理華語文化體驗營,國際師生造 訪本校進行國際文化交流活動,本校學生藉由 接待海外來賓並擔任寄宿家庭招待國際友人, 觸發學生瞭解多元差異的可貴,以提升進行海 外移動之意願與動機。

Exchanges with Sister-School Visitors to Expand our International Perspective Between the 2013 and 2015 Academic Years, a total of 177 students participated in various international conferences, seminars, or workshops. CJCU also hosted many universities and academic groups from overseas. In the 2015 Academic Year, we hosted 37 groups and 330 guests from overseas. In addition, starting from the day our freshmen enter our campus, they will take their first step in internationalization and international exchanges. Our diverse and abundant internationalized learning environment and faculty will stimulate freshmen's desire to study a foreign language and inspire them to participate in an exchange program in the future. From the 21st to 28th of August 2016, CJCU and the Language Education Center jointly hosted the 2016 Freshmen International Culture Summer Camp. A total of 29 international students from 11 sister schools from 6 different countries participated in the summer camp, along with 76 CJCU students. Our students can learn about diversity and differences through a variety of activities, such as the Chinese Culture Camp, International Cultural Exchange by overseas scholars and students, hosting overseas guests for homestay experience, etc. These activities prove valuable in stimulating students' desire and motivation to go abroad in the future.

105 年本校「CJ SEE U 國際青年旅遊 Tour Buddy 服務網」,旅遊學伴志工將負責為有意到台南旅行的國際青年做 導覽服務及旅遊規劃。 The “CJ SEE U International Youth Travel Tour Buddy Service” project was launched in the 2016 Academic Year. Tour guide volunteers provide guided tours and travel planning guidance to overseas youth who are visiting Tainan.

Extend Campus Internationalization through the International Youth Traveler Service Project

105 學年度長榮大學「CJ SEE U 國際青 年旅遊 Tour Buddy 服務網」計畫,由 20 位 報名學員中,經過課程培訓與最後的測驗,選 出 14 位志工。

In the 2016 Academic Year, CJCU launched the “CJ SEE U International Youth Traveler Tour Buddy Service” project. There were 20 applicants, and 14 were chosen to serve as Tour Buddy volunteers after successfully completing their training and exam.

這 14 位旅遊志工除提供定點導覽解說 外,也協助旅遊規劃導覽活動,本年度共出 勤 66 次,服務國內外前來台南旅遊的青年旅 客 213 人次。本年度被導覽的外國旅客包括 英國、法國、美國、德國、新加坡、馬來西亞、 香港、日本、韓國、越南等十個國家旅客。 14 位旅遊志工中有 11 位服務 20 小時,獲得 教育部青年發署頒發證書,並在 2016 年 11 月 20 日由教育部潘文忠部長頒獎。

These 14 travel volunteers provided pinpoint tour guidance and assisted in travel planning activities. The volunteers were dispatched 66 times during this academic year; they served 213 domestic and overseas youth travelers who came to Tainan. Overseas travelers who received tour guide services came from 10 countries (and regions) such as the UK, France, the US, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. 11 out of the 14 volunteers served 20 hours and received a certificate issued by the Youth Development Administration, Ministry of Education. The certificates were presented by Minister of Education Pan Wen-chung on November 20, 2016.

Tour Buddy 旅遊學伴志工除了駐點、電 話聯繫所接觸的青年旅客外,也為前來長榮大 學參訪的高中生、大學生或是來賓,進行台南 市旅遊導覽服務,為學校盡心盡力,成為長榮 大學的一項特色。

In addition to reaching out to youth travelers on-site or by phone, Tour Buddy volunteers also provided guided tours of Tainan City to high school/university students or guests visiting CJCU. These volunteers have worked hard for the University and became a unique feature of CJCU.

推動築異世界 開拓跨文化溝通視野 105 學年度國際日及國際週活動,是以 「住」為主題 -「築異世界 (Wonders of the World)」。活動包含海報靜態展與四場演講。 海報靜態展計有中國、宏都拉斯 、 香港、印 度、印尼、日本、韓國、澳門、墨西哥、緬甸、 馬來西亞、蒙古、巴拿馬、南非及台灣等 15 個國家同學參加展出;另外四場演講,其中三 場是由來自於中國、印度、蒙古、馬來西亞、 香港與澳門的境外生擔任講者,介紹他們本國 的建築特色。最後一場演講,則由馬來西亞培 風中學黃雪萊校長主講- 「 烙印在屋簷的璀 璨:看麻六甲“英荷葡•華巫印”的綜合建築 文化 」,經由「麻六甲的建築」,瞭解馬來西 亞麻六甲地區的文化融合與包容。透過境外生 及師長親身介紹母國文化,學生們都覺得十分 有趣、收穫滿滿。 國 際 週 的 開 幕 式 於 2016 年 11 月 28 日 於 圖 書 館 前 舉 行, 來 賓 包 括 印 尼 副 代 表 Siswadi 先生、印尼代表處旅遊與交通部主 任 AgungSepande 先生、菲律賓聖保羅大學 Dr.Connie、馬來西亞培風中學黃雪萊校長。 開幕式由馬來西亞學生表演「24 節令鼓」、 管樂團表演樂曲,來賓與同學們共同為國際 週揭開序幕,本次國際週總共參與人數為 500 人次。

Fostering Cultural Communication and Mindset through “Wonders of the World” The theme for the 2016 International Day and International Week was “housing”. The “Wonders of the World” event included a poster exhibition and four keynote speeches. The poster exhibition included posters designed by students from China, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Mexico, Myanmar, Malaysia, Mongolia, Panama, South Africa, and Taiwan. Three of the four keynote speeches were given by international students from China, India, Mongolia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Macau, in which they talked about the unique features of the architecture in their home country. The last keynote speech was presented by Dr. Huang Xue-lai, principal of Pay Fong Middle School in Malaysia. Her keynote speech was titled “Glories on the Eaves: A Glance of “British, Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, Malay, Indian”inspired Architectural Culture in Malacca,” in which Dr. Huang talked about the cultural fusion and inclusion in Malacca, Malaysia. Our students truly enjoyed her speech and learned a great deal from these speeches given by their international classmates and overseas guests. The opening ceremony of the International Week took place on November 28, 2016 in front of the University Library. Guests included: Mr. Siswadi, Deputy Representative of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office to Taipei, Mr. ArungSepande, Travel and Transportation Director of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office to Taipei, Dr. Connie from St. Paul University in the Philippines, and Dr. Huang Xue-lai, principal of Pay Fong Middle School in Malaysia. The highlights of the opening ceremony included a performance of the “24 Festive Drums” by the Malaysian students and wind instrument concert. The guests and CJCU students jointly announced the opening of the International Week. A total of 500 visitors participated in this year's International Week.

GlobEEs 跨國教育體驗 本校國際姊妹校每年辦理跨國教育體 驗 GlobEEs (Global Education Experiences Program),兩校的青年學子將透過一系列精 心策劃的課程、參訪與活動,提昇兩校學生 對彼此學校、國家與文化的認識,在面對全 球化挑戰時,跨國與跨文化的認知將成為個 人的成功之鑰。2016 年 4 月辦理印尼 Satya Wacana Christian University 來 校 文 化 交 流 參訪,8 月本校赴德國 BBS 1&2 進行為期 10 天的文化交流參訪。

GlobEEs Global Education Experiences Program CJCU and our sister schools host GlobEEs (Global Education Experiences Program) every year. Students from both sides can experience a series of carefully designed courses, visits, and activities to improve mutual understanding of each other's school, country, and culture. In the age of globalization, cross-country and cross-cultural understanding will become the key to success. In April 2016, Satya Wacana Christian University from Indonesia visited CJCU for a cultural exchange visit. In August, we will visit BBS1 & 2 in Germany for a 10-day cultural exchange visit.

本校依據 103~107 學年度中長程校務發 展計畫,以「效法耶穌濟世救人精神,成為世 界一流的基督教大學」為願景。其次,本校以 「敬天、愛人、惜物與力行」為核心價值 (Core Value)。同時以「全人牧育,長榮永續」為校 務發展使命。 在 103~107 年度中長程校務發展目標設 定方面為「放眼世界,深耕在地,成為南臺灣 最好的私立大學」,期能在中長期內成為南台 灣地區不論教學品質、研究質量、國際化程 度、產學合作規模、畢業生就業率、學輔成 果、校園永續等指標均能名列前茅。最後在學 校發展定位上,本校於 103 年 1 月 2 日,由 第 7 任校長李泳龍教授召開「校務推動討論 會議」,會中決議,長榮大學之自我定位為 「以教學為主研究為輔之教學型大學」。茲將 本校願景、核心價值、使命、目標與定位圖列 示於下圖。

CJCU continues to carry out the 2014~2018 Academic Year Mid- and Long-Term University Affairs Development Plan with the slogan of “following the salvation spirit of Jesus Christ to become a top Christian university in the world” and core values that include “revere the divine, love the human, treasure the things around us, and practice diligently.” At the same time, our mission is to pursue “holistic pastoral education and everlasting glory.” Our target for the 2014~2018 Academic Year Mid- and Long-Term University Affairs Development Plan is to “think globally, act locally in order to become the best private university in Southern Taiwan.” Whether it is teaching quality, research quality, internationalization, scale of industry-academia cooperation, graduate employment rate, student counseling, or campus sustainability, CJCU is expected to become a university in Southern Taiwan that excels in these areas. Lastly, regarding future development, it was decided by the university affairs promotion meeting on January 2, 2014 led by our 7th president, Dr. Lee Yung-long that the position of our University is to be an “educational university with primary focus on teaching and secondary focus on research.” Our vision, core values, mission, target, and position are listed in the chart below.

本校「103-107 學年中長程校務發展計 畫」之規劃,從計畫之擬訂、執行與管考,乃 依 PDCA 的管理模式次第進行。

The planning for the “2014~2018 Academic Year Midand Long-Term University Affairs Development Plan” followed the PDCA management model from drafting to implementation and evaluation.

在擬定過程方面,首先依據教育部人才 培育白皮書、國家發展計畫、及本校校務發展 願景、核心價值與使命,獲取 103-107 學年 中長程校務發展計畫之初步彙編資料方向,同 時召開校務諮詢會議,邀請校內外專家及學者 擬定出本校校務發展目標「南臺灣最好的私立 大學」。

During the drafting process, the direction of the midand long-term plan was decided based on the Talent Cultivation White Paper from the Ministry of Education, National Development Plan, university development vision, core values, and mission. At the same time, we also hosted a consultation meeting and invited on and off-campus experts and scholars to draft the objective of “becoming the best university in Southern Taiwan.”

再者經由本校校務推動委員會、主管共 識營及教師共識營擬定出本校未來五年之發 展六大策略,分別為「全人牧育」、「適性揚 才」、「教研精實」、「國際參與」、「校園 永續」、及「社會責任」之策略主軸,策略規 劃架構圖如下。

The next step was to decide on the six major strategies for the University development over the next five years through our university affairs promotion committee, supervisors, and faculty members. Our six major strategies are: “holistic pastoral education”, “talent nurturing”, “refined academic research”, “international participation”, “campus sustainability”, and “social responsibility.” Our strategy planning is listed in the chart below.

接續再藉由計畫時程分析、利害關係人 分 析、TOWS 策 略 矩 陣 分 析 擬 定 本 校 103107 學年中長程校務發展執行方案與計畫。 最後藉由編列編列、擬定關鍵績效指標 (Key Performance Indicator, KPI)、執行,並經每 年實際狀況作細部修正之管考機制,形成計畫 之滾動式修正。

It was then followed by plan schedule analysis, stakeholder analysis, and TOWS strategic matrix analysis to solidify the action plan and steps. Finally, we conducted KPI study and established an evaluation mechanism that offers minor modification to the details of the plan based on actual situation.
