ROLLING ON WITH RAMP BUILDING #242 – October 2nd - Civitans built a 5x5-foot deck and 36-foot ramp for Robert Taylor on North “T” Street. He is in poor health and uses a walker and a wheelchair. Friends of Mr. Taylor contributed $300 towards the ramp materials and our Club funded the balance of $253.

THANK YOU: Cindy Barrington, Gil Chase, Larry Coleman, Fred and Ron Knodel, and Andy & Karen Martin. This project was completed in less than 3 hours! #243 – October 16th – Civitans built a 32-foot ramp for 71-year old John Charley on Cutter Street. He has severe diabetes and other related health problems, and is confined to a wheelchair. Mrs. Sarah Charley and her brother contributed $300 towards the ramp materials and our Club will fund the balance ($43.75). THANK YOU: Mike Barrington, Cheryl Edwards, Fred and Ron Knodel, Karen Martin, Jack Peterson, Pat Remich, and Jim Smith.

Ramp project #244 took place on Saturday, October 23rd at the home of 62-year old Dora Marie Siebert on North “W” Street. Mrs. Siebert has diabetes, neuropathy of her legs and feet, and has had three strokes and a heart attack in the last two years. She needed a ramp to safely enter and exit her home. They stopped working on the ramp at noon, with just a few more boards needing to be nailed on, but they ran short on boards for the railings. Fred and Ron Knodel returned to complete the project the following Tuesday. October 23rd was “Make a Difference Day”. We had four students from Catholic High School help from start to finish (Kendra Davis, Beverly Olson, Dylon Williams, and Jordan Wood), as well as Lexy Perez and his dad, Felix, from Pensacola High, and Nicole Pugh from Washington High School. Mr. Doug Daughtry also helped build the large ramp. They built two decks and two 16-foot ramps, for a total of 46-feet of planking and railings! Left: Lexy (Jr. Civitan District Governor), Jordan, Kendra, Beverly, Dylon, and Nicole

Thank you, Civitans: Cindy Barrington, Gil Chase, Cheryl Edwards, Fred Knodel, Pat Remich, and Jim Smith.
