Each of the 23 boldly appointed, spacious suites displays a different Dutch Masters painting recreated from the original in the nearby Rijksmuseum, while an additional oversized painting is inspired by magnified details of the same work. REFINED URBAN RETREATS Hoofdstad Brasserie offers a culinary masterclass from its open kitchen as the chef brigade prepares modern French cuisine with an Amsterdam twist. A favourite haunt of Alfred “Freddy” Heineken, Freddy’s Bar attracts the Amsterdam A-list who flock to its leather banquettes to savour Bloody Mary, cocktails, gourmet nibbles and live music. Adjacent, reminiscent of an old-world gentleman’s club, Freddy’s Fumoir presents a selection of fine cigars and cognacs.

The contemporary Dutch Masters Wing is home to 23 immaculate suites, while the timeless Rondeel Building houses 88 guestrooms and suites. Iconic Dutch Masters paintings have been meticulously replicated to enhance the décor and individuality of each room. At 40-50 sq m, with either an open floorplan or separate living area, Junior suites are reminiscent of a metropolitan apartment. At 65 to 85 sq m, Prestige One-bedroom suites are for guests seeking enhanced luxury and space. A separate living area includes a dining or conference table, while classic or modern designs create individual layouts and historical architectural details. Colours and patterns extend from the selected Dutch Masters painting into the room, and double-glazed windows offer picturesque views of Amsterdam’s historic city centre as well as romantic views of the Amstel River. Balconies are available in some Prestige suites.

Premium Deluxe rooms At 30 - 40 sq m, Premium Deluxe rooms combine work with relaxation by balancing luxury with space. The interiors blend classic design with modern amenities, while doubleglazed windows afford picturesque views of Amsterdam’s historic city centre as well as romantic vistas of the Amstel River. Some Premium Deluxe rooms also boast a private balcony.

Deluxe One-bedroom suites At 50 - 60 sq m, Deluxe Onebedroom suites offer the added comfort of a separate living area. Classic or modern designs offer unique layouts, historical architectural accents and picturesque city panoramas as well as enchanting Amstel River views. Balconies are available in some Deluxe suites.

Several suites, such as the Provocateur, are similar to loft apartments, while others are reminiscent of a modern piedà-terre, with sliding glass doors that separate the bedroom, living room and entry foyer for added privacy. Bold and vintage colours from each Dutch Masters painting fuse verve and panache with hints of history. Modern design aligns comfort with the latest technology, including an iPad, iPod docking station, Bose sound system, gently heated floors, subtle motion-detecting floor lighting and bath mirrors with built-in televisions. An oversized marble and mosaic bathtub and separate rain and hand-held shower heads complete the luxurious amenities.
