Picnic Shelters

Picnic shelters are a great option to host a birthday party, BBQ, or small celebration. Picnic shelter reservations are available April through September. 2019 reservations open January 2nd for Redmond residents. Half-Day Reservations: 9 am-2 pm, or 4 pm-Sunset Full-Day Reservations: 9 am-9 pm Picnic shelter options:

Garden Plot Rentals at Juel Park Community Garden Rent a 10’x20’plot at Juel Park! Plots open 1/17/19 (Residents) and 1/24/19 (NonResidents). Gardeners must contribute a minimum of 8 service hours towards the Juel Community Garden during the year and must be actively gardened 3/15/19 to 10/31/19. Drawing Dragons

Four weeks of painting fun! Explore different painting media and engaging themes. Students will express their personal style and learn a variety of art concepts and techniques. All materials provided.

Let your imagination take you to a fantasy land filled with dragons! You’ll learn drawing techniques and create your own amazing dragon. This is a one-day class offered four different days. All materials provided. Students will take home their finished drawing in a mat.

Urban Sketching Workshops

Fee: $50/$60N Intro to Sketching- Tips and Tricks: Learn the basics of urban sketching: picking a subject, looking for interesting angles, and composition. Imagination & The Senses Melanie Noel, author of The Monarchs, a book of poems, and the forthcoming chapbook The Ringing, is honored to serve as Redmond’s Poet Laureate. This three-week class explores memories and ideas through language and senses. Each meeting create new writings through prompts, inspired by other writers and artists.

Redmond Arts Studio: Intro To Clay Not sure where to start when working with clay? Unsure what tools are available to you at Open Art Studio or how to use them? This class is for you! An experienced instructor will provide step-by-step, interactive instruction to guide you through creating great art work. In this two-part course, all participants will get the chance to hand build and throw pottery on the wheel. All finished work will be fired and available for pickup 2-3 weeks after the conclusion of class. Come learn the basics of clay with us to enhance your Open Studio experience! Paint Night at the Community Center This easy step-by-step class will provide fun for all levels. Beginners will have a supportive environment to explore their creative potential, while experienced artists can share in the joy of painting with others. Beginning Pony This class is designed for younger riders who are ready to move beyond My Little Pony, but not quite ready for the longer, more intense classes in the JHA series. Junior Horse Master Trail Ride

Novice classes will continue developing important horsemanship skills, confidence while trotting, correct riding position, and working towards complete independence inside the arena. Riders should repeat this course until they can confidently perform; independent grooming and saddling techniques, successful reining off-lead, sitting the trot off-lead, and begin work on posting trot skills. Volunteer Opportunities at Farrel-McWhirter (Ages 12-17) Love animals? Need community service hours for NHS or college apps? Join the Farrel-McWhirter Volunteer Program and get hands on experience with horses and livestock, helping children learn about agriculture and the equestrian world. The Volunteer Program holds monthly meetings, offers horseback riding opportunities, educational outings, and hands-on animal trainings. Applications are accepted year-round; however, there are only two new member orientations. One in January, and one in Spring. Depending on the availability and openings, an additional orientation may be added. You must attend a New Volunteer Orientation prior to starting! Volunteer Program fees are $75 per year (not prorated). Interested individuals will receive information about registering after their application has been received. The Old Fire House (OFH) provides engaging activities with a focus on teens grades 9th through high school graduation. RYPAC - Redmond Youth Partnership Advisory Committee Redmond Youth Partnership Advisory Committee (RYPAC) is the City of Redmond's youth leadership board. Teens who join RYPAC have the opportunity to meet with LWSD & City of Redmond leadership on behalf of their schools and community. RYPAC meets twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Family Yoga

At a slightly higher intensity level this class will focus on building strength and fitness. With the use of weights, and resistance bands/tubing, you will work all the major muscle groups in your body. The Flex Fit Pass can be use to attend this class.
