Description Means no frogs of a given species can be heard calling. Means individuals of a species can be heard; calls not overlapping, can easily count number of frogs calling. Means individual frogs can be heard to call; but some overlap, can estimate number of frogs present. Means numerous frogs can be heard; chorus is constant and overlapping.

CALM--smoke rises vertically.
LIGHT AIR--rising smoke drifts; weather vane inactive. LIGHT BREEZE--leaves rustle; can feel wind on face.
GENTLE BREEZE--leaves and twigs in constant motion; small flags extended. MODERATE BREEZE--moves small branches; raises dust and loose paper (too windy to monitor). FRESH BREEZE--small trees in leaf begin to sway (way too windy to monitor).
