Family, friends and co-workers gathered to watch as police officers Andrea Lindeen and Mike McCormick were officially promoted to the position of sergeant at the June 4 City Council meeting. During the swearing in ceremony they read their oath and had family members pin on their new badge. Sgt. Lindeen joined the Cottage Grove police department in 2002. Sgt. McCormick joined the Cottage Grove police department in 2003.

Memorial Day Ceremony Hundreds of people attended the inaugural Memorial Day ceremony at the Cottage Grove Veterans Memorial. The event was organized by the Cottage Grove Beyond the Yellow Ribbon (CGBYR) network. Speeches were made by retired Chief Master Sgt. Air Force, Steve Campos, and U.S. Senator Al Franken, D–Minn. Fourth of July Celebration

Play Ball!

A community celebration will take place at Kingston Park on the Fourth of July. The family–friendly event begins at 6:30 p.m. with a picnic–style dinner. Hotdogs, brats, pop and candy will be available for sale on– site. Activities throughout the evening with the fireworks display beginning at dusk. The event is sponsored by the Cottage Grove Lions Club.

From Aug. 1 to 4, baseball players from PHD Baseball Club will attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's longest continuous baseball game while raising money for a great cause. The game takes place at Park High School’s 9th grade baseball field. Spectators welcome. Details on our website.
