eBooks – online to knowledge! We now have 3,229 eBooks available for you to use in or out of College, 24 hours a day. The range of subjects is vast, so if you need some information for the important assignment that’s due in tomorrow, give them a go! They’re fully searchable, never out on loan and can’t be late back – just a few reasons why they’re even better than real books!

More… Flip cameras
These books are the most popular with CoBC students so far this year:
The handy Flip video cameras are a doddle to use and have been a real hit with teaching staff. So we're buying another 50 for teaching staff to borrow from all the LRCs. LRC staff can always give you a short demo of how to use them.

Brand new LRCs This year we've opened two brand new LRCs, which are going down a treat. At SBSA the large, open LRC is at the heart of the building - spread over two floors, with over 200 laptops and the very popular peagreen ‘pods’ with plasma screens for group work. The new LRC at Orpen Park specialises in Transport Technology, and is already well used by aero and other students. The relocated and tastefully refurbished Soundwell LRC has attracted much admiration. As well as PCs, books and study facilities, there are also 20 new laptops for students to use.
More… LRC laptops At SBSA laptops are a way of life, with 59 for student use and 180 (one hundred and eighty) for staff to take into classrooms. At College Green too, students love our laptops, both for individual study and for groupwork. So we've now made them available at other LRCs - Soundwell, Ashley Down and Orpen Park have ten each for students to use. We’re also getting ten more at College Green due to demand!
Staff - don't forget our LRC workshops... Help your students to gain the skills they need to become independent learners - book them into the LRC for an information skills workshop, tailored to your subject. Make the most of eBooks, with an eBooks workshop. And a referencing and plagiarism workshop will help them avoid the dangers of plagiarism.
