RETIREMENT Traditional employer-sponsored retirement plans (AKA “pension plans”) have all but vanished from the list of benefits most companies offer today. As a matter of fact, only about 7% of companies surveyed in recent years still offer traditional retirement plans to new employees. Our retirement plan is through the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI). Under PERSI both you and the city contribute to fund your retirement nest egg. In addition to PERSI retirement, you have the option of contributing to various deferred compensation plans, and we provide a match. How amazing is that?
