REC CENTER/ HEARST CENTER NEW REGISTRATION SYSTEM A new activity registration system is in use at the Recreation Center and Hearst Center for the Arts. The system, Max Galaxy, offers additional functionality and convenience to both our customers and staff. Customers can research facility availability, register for programs, and maintain family account information from anywhere Internet access is available. Online calendars list daily events at each location, such as classes, workshops, movies and concerts, and an advanced search feature allows you to find activities that work with your family’s schedule.

A new land management system has replaced the city’s permit, inspection and code enforcement systems.

Memberships are still required to be purchased in person. If you prefer to register for activities in person, all receipts and rental confirmations are provided via email.

To be sure we have the most accurate customer information, we are gathering updated information for all of our patrons, regardless of whether registration is done online or in person. Online, first time users will need to create an account and add their family members. New membership cards are issued as memberships are renewed or newly purchased. The Max Galaxy system is also used to provide admittance to Holmes Pool and The Falls by scanning membership cards or by collecting the designated admittance fee for the facility. Online application can be made for many permits, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, sign, driveway, and fence permits. Additional online services include contractor registrations, inspection requests and payment of fees. Building permit applications will be a future addition to the online system. Registration is not required to use the system, but advanced search capabilities are available to those who choose to register. In addition to the online convenience provided to residents and contractors, the new system is GIS-based and makes use of the city’s existing GIS layers to provide support for future decision making.
