In 1967 Peter Nichols black comedy A Day in the Death of Joe Egg premiered at the Citizens Theatre. It's content was highly scrutinised due to the 'controversial' comedic portrayal of a couple coping with their severely disabled daughter. In 2011 it returned to the Citizens main stage. This resource pack aims to give teachers and students an insight into the process of creating A Day in the Death of Joe Egg at the Citizens Theatre. The pack is particularly aimed at helping students of Higher Drama answer any question in the paper which asks the candidate to ‘write about a production you have recently seen by a Scottish theatre company’.
