Who Is This Boy Riding On The Horse? Oil on canvas 120 x 150 cm

“Alzheimer: My intimate research into this unknown void. Capturing light and harnessing it to my deepest feelings, to explore, creating a language, the calligraphy of my soul.” Profoundly inspired by the reflections from stained-glass windows in a chapel Chaplin started capturing them on canvas. The series Oxymorons is her way of feeling things in abstraction: becoming a metaphor for life, expressing her feelings towards her father suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, sadness, distress, frustration, questioning the very meaning of life.
