Billion dollar project for Brisbane BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL has approved a $1 billion industrial and business park on the former Sanananda Army Barracks site at Wacol , 18km south-west of the city. The 93ha Metroplex at Westgate project will be delivered by a company linked to Queensland-based developer Pradella.

Pradeila says the project will be a vital piece of infrastructure for Brisbane's western corridor.
The region is expected to accommodate 350,000 residents and 200,000 new workers by 2026. Construction on the first stage of the development is expected to start in 2012, with the first lots to be made available for lease and purchase in 2013. The entire project will be developed in stages over the next 10 years. With 250,000sqm of industrial floors pace and a 6000sqm retail and business precinct, Metroplex at Westgate will be almost double the size of its sister project Metroplex Gateway in Murrarie, also developed by Pradelia.
