THIS IS THE
LORD’S DOING; IT IS
MARVELOUS IN OUR EYES. Psalm 118:23
YEAR END REPORT
LIFE IS SHORT. ETERNITY IS REAL. PEOPLE MATTER MOST.
DEAR CHURCH FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF CHURCH FOR THE CITY It is with excitement that we release our 2020 Year End Report. This report reflects what we can do as a church family during the worse conditions experienced in the USA during our generation. So, I say, THANK You! Your consistent giving, generosity in time, talent, & treasure has enabled 2020 to be the best year for Church for The City. We have seen an increase in tithing, savings, and expansion. Without question I can shout, “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:23). We are being prepared for a spirit empowered year in 2021. Last year, we were restricted from leading mission teams and being with our international churches.
However, our missions and outreach work were not restricted. Local impact and mission support was still strong, with multiple opportunities for our church family to serve our community. We believe in irrational generosity. Along with benevolence to those in need, we have well surpassed what we imagined during the pandemic. We have seen tremendous growth and significant WINS in every area of ministry. The new launch of City Recovery has already proven fruitful. Our Production Team has excelled in meeting the challenge of live streaming and all things digital. The Kidz Ministry is so excited for their new space; and they have more things coming that will raise the level of ministry and excellence. The City Leadership School has a wonderful, God-pursuing group of interns. In the last 18 months the CLS has produced 6 staff members. City Youth gathers 60-85 students for worship on Wednesday evenings. City Life Group’s, Women’s, Men’s, and our other support ministries have seen solid attendance and growth in the lives of those who attend. And the most wonderful thing for me to experience each Sunday is the dear people who share their testimony of life transformation before being baptized! It is all part of the reason we exist, to help people far from God find life in Christ! This report reflects our mission and values. You will also see why we believe we are positioned to continue to open new doors, and increase our influence and
impact in our city, and the world. You are the vital part of that! So, thank you for living for the bigger picture, investing in eternity, and making a difference in peoples lives. We love you much! In His Grip, Pastor Tyrone & Lady V

CARE & DISCIPLESHIP Bringing Biblical care and discipleship to the community and fostering hope and healing through the word of God During this 5-month program, each counselor developed a solid Biblical foundation for counseling others through the word of God. The 3level course was met with enthusiasm from the training counselors and facilitated great discussions in the training group sessions. Our hope is that this training will be a lifelong — equipping the church to provide Acts 2 care to
those hurting in our community.

WONDERFULLY MADE Taking a stand for the life of the unborn
MOTHERS AND BABIES SUPPORTED WITH “MOSES BASKETS”
We equip and train believers with a scriptural foundation for supporting life through participation in the Fearfully and Wonderfully Made and Making Life
Disciples curriculum. Once trained, team members serve as Life Disciples — supporting women and men who are facing an unplanned pregnancy or who have experienced the pain of abortion. Team members also speak within the community to share the message of
the sanctity of life. Women and men are supported with on-on-one ministry and prayer throughout the pregnancy decision process and after, through referral to local pregnancy support organizations and through our “Moses Basket” giving.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

THIN LINE Helping veterans and first responders come together and help each other discover their purpose through Christ
Thin line is a spiritual gathering that is outside of the walls from what one would consider a normal
church setting. It is a brotherhood of like-minded individuals where we can learn and grow from Biblical doctrine and personal experiences. It is an atmosphere where judgment is nonexistent.
Thin Line provides me with an outlet where I can discuss my daily struggles (both current and from the past). What’s said here stays here, and I would definitely recommend this ministry to anyone that has served in uniform. — Chad Lachance

PRAYER TEAM Praying and interceding for Church for the City
Prayer is the heartbeat of the Spirit underlying the church. Over the past year, the Intercessors have faithfully continued to pray and intercede for all of CTC. Sometimes people wonder if they will miss something not being in a service, but in the prayer room, the Lord meets us with His presence, power and anointing! Those who serve at the altar pray with understanding, humility, and insight. We are conduits of His heart. So many times, we hear how people have been strengthened, touched and blessed by those who have prayed for them.
It is an amazing blessing for all who serve on both the Altar Ministry and Intercessory Prayer Teams. I am grateful for all of them and their commitment throughout 2020.

I remember being such a nervous new mom, overprotective and worried about everything that could happen. I didn't let myself go to church for a long time after having Amelia because I didn't want to "expose" her.
When my relationship with Christ started to suffer from missing out on community, we knew it was time to go back. Taking her to the Nursery for the first time was so scary, but I was greeted and comforted by the amazing team. Each week the team put up with
ABOUT OUR SENSORY ROOM A new addition to our upstairs space is our Sensory Room. This area is designed to be a quiet retreat for children (or even adults) and their buddies to go if they need a break from the noise and activity of the classroom. This space is designed to facilitate peace and calm — helping rest and ready a child to return to their class. As we grow, and as renovations continue to be completed, we envision children with all types of needs finding a space to learn.
my constant check-in's, millions of
questions and Amelia's major poop bombs. The weeks got easier. Weeks became a year and when it was time for Amelia to transition from Nursery to the 2-yearold class, I was just so overwhelmed by love thinking how these amazing
people had helped us get to this point. I was so blessed. Amelia loves kids church and its part of her DNA!

Investing in young people
We have made it our priority to invest in young people as they set aside a season of their life to grow in leadership and their walk with the Lord. Our CLS students participated in Outreach at the Dream Center in LA, developed and served at Outpour Conference at CTC and attended Encounter Conference in Vacaville, California.
