For Chubb Life, Desmond Leung Kar Hao created seven 20-second videos based on traditional Chinese elements and celestial themes: the five elements (gold, wood, water, fire, earth), sunmoon, and star-dawn, integrating traditional Chinese cosmology with modern artistic expression. The rotation of these seven luminaries symbolizes the cycle of time and life’s progression, exploring rhythmic color vibrations to create meditative spaces that resonate with viewers’ body and mind, allowing them to experience life’s abundance and vitality, gaining strength to face this challenging and ever-changing era. Born on a Pacific island and growing up between Hong Kong and Australia, influenced by both Eastern and Western cultures, Leung’s art connects the natural world with digital technology, taking Earth and nature as his foundation to showcase infinite possibilities.

Growing up in Hong Kong, Stephen Wong Chun Hei’s artistic journey began with an unexpected turn. In 2011, a bicycle ride to Ma On Shan Pier changed his creative direction. There, he began to understand how sketching could record time, unknowingly drawing Pat Sin Leng in the distance, not even knowing

the mountain’s name at first. This experience led him to fall in love with outdoor sketching. Initially, he couldn’t appreciate Hong Kong’s urban landscape, but gradually learned to embrace Hong Kong’s unique mountains and waters, which connect different districts and different people, even more so than the familiar high-rises. Thus, Hong Kong’s distinctive landscape and urban environment became his unique language, layering modern human landscapes upon traditional mountain and water foundations. His exhibited work “It’s Another Day” not only points to life as a recurring cycle but also implies that regardless of how the day goes, sunlight will always shine anew tomorrow, bringing fresh hope.
