“So it’s not gonna be easy. It’s going to be really hard; we’re gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me... everyday.”

Unlike the Notebook, relationships in high school are different by how technology has impacted on them. In this era, many relationships start and unfortunately end due to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Cell phones also play a big role by giving people the chance to keep in touch without having to be right there with them. Even though the love has modernize from the “Notebook” relationships are still influence by though the internet or cell phones it all still adds up to the love that two people have for each other. “Love is spontaneous and beautiful; once you have loved someone you feel like you can’t live without them,” said senior Elizabeth Montes. Love came into Elizabeth’s life unexpectedly and turned her whole world around. “It all happened by accident during the homecoming parade last year. Ricardo dropped some flags that I had just organized. After that I would have never imagined that we would talk or see each other again”. Said Montes But Fate had different plans for them. Days later Ricardo added Elizabeth on Facebook. From there a great friendship develop which turned out to be a relationship that has lasted a years and three months. “It wasn’t love at first sight, but as time passed and we started talking and getting to know each other better. Then it became love,” said Montes. One of the main pillars that have made this relationship strong is the trust they have for each other. “Trust is one of the most important components of a good relationship, without it I wouldn’t call it a relationship” Montes. That doesn’t mean that with trust you have a perfect relationship with no problems. It just means that there is respect between you two. Relationships are like rollercoasters they have their ups and downs: There are moments that we wish that lasted forever; there are also moments where we wish that we didn’t even exist.

Even though it all started through Facebook, the steps that came after resulted in a relationship between Elizabeth and Ricardo. Therefore that is what these two stories have in common neither “ The Notebook” nor Elizabeth’s and Ricardo’s relationships were love at first sight but after letting time pass and started knowing each other better then a relationship was made.
