Dr. Carlos T. García Retired eye physician, after 25 years in private practice. Entrepreneur since a teenager with a deep background in business negotiations, marketing and production of major events. At age 14, he ran programming for a family owned FM radio station establishing a "Wolfman Jack" style live animation, a first in FM broadcasting then. Sold his interest at age 22 while graduating Magna Cum Laude from Medical School in 1982. At 29, organized and executive produced the largest mass-oriented water sports event in the Caribbean Sea, under the offshore boat racing banner, drawing more than 60,000 on site viewers, and hundreds of thousands over a syndicated tv production. A former multi engine-fixed wing and helicopter pilot, who survived a lifethreatening mechanical malfunction crash, fortunately with no casualties, in 1989. Since 1992 owned, invested and developed, with wife Frances, a large resort clothing, sports equipment and vehicle distribution company for Latin America, Bahamas and the Caribbean, selling their interests and retiring. Frances, his high school sweetheart, a partner in every venture, supported a decision in 2007, to move, part time, into Vizcaya and follow their two sons’ educational opportunities. Now the oldest, (Giancarlo-23), a movie industry special effects artist matte painter living in Hollywood, CA; and their youngest, (Fabian-19), a Taekwon Do Black Belt CIT, currently in college. Carlos is a philosophycal polyglot, "diplomatic individual”, who speaks fluent English, French, Spanish, Italian and learning Arabic. A watch collector, automobile, aircraft & boat advocate, a savy chess player, fine arts spectator, classic and popular music connoisseur, as well as good food & wine enthusiast. At the present time, Carlos serves as a consultant for various national & international boards in the financial, real estate, tourism and hospitality industry, as well as Director for Vizcaya Heights Condominium Association and President of the 2011 Board for the Vizcaya Master Homeowners Association, Inc. He is also a sporadic consultant for the private medical sector, medical staff volunteer for organized Major League Baseball, a Medical School associate staff, and an “on call” physician staff member for the U.S. Department of Defense. You can see Carlos and Frances strolling down THE ESPLANADE promenade almost daily, walking their two “adopted” baby sitting dogs, Canela, a BeagleDachshund crossbred blondie, and Susie, a puffy white toy Poodle.
