Welcome to the second edition of my e-magazine style portfolio update. The idea of the magazine is to demonstrate the kind of projects I’ve been involved in recently and showcase the range of photography styles I can produce. The work is a mix of studio and location work from the last few months.

poses Pet retailer Pets at Home were updating all their pet insurance literature and advertising so commissioned me to create a library of new dog and cat portraits. As you can imagine, getting pets, especially cats to remain still for the shoot was no mean feat. With a few treats and their owners on hand, we managed to get some purrfect shots in the bag.

I recently made a trip to Bodrhyddan Hall in North Wales. They were hosting their first ‘No Man’s Land’ event involving over two hundred World War 1 and World War 2 re-enactors. Each society specialises in a division of one of the Allies or Axis armies. Their authenticity is incredible, right down to original uniforms, weapons and even maps and newspapers from the day. This attention to detail makes for a great photograph. These portraits are the WW2 re-enactors.

Createc are a specialists in advanced robotics and computer imaging. They wanted to update the companies head shot photography and commissioned me to head to their offices in Cumbria and Oxford to take these portraits. Their new branding features an aqua colour so I incorporated that into my lighting set up.

I always enjoy learning new lighting techniques and set ups and had the chance to try some of these out with model Markie. Coloured gels always add interest to an image and l love to include them on images when I can.

I was recently approached by new clothing brand Partisan to create all their product photography for their launch. We spent a day in the studio photographing a mix of model and still life images all with a consistent grey background colour. This gives their website and social media a uniform look and style and has help the launch to get off to a great start.

I love the colours and vibrancy of the circus and when I had the chance to photograph two different travelling circuses, I jumped at the chance. Planet Circus and Circus Rio are fantastic shows and a real joy to photograph, not only do the make great images, I’m entertained as I work!

The Crescent by CALA Homes is a selection of luxury apartments located in the heart of Edinburgh’s celebrated New Town. All the properties overlook a stunning Victorian property called Donaldson’s. I was commissioned to shoot a selection of lifestyle images in two of the developments show homes with the aim of capturing the light and space of the apartments as well as the stunning view.

A. E. Williams is an atmospheric place, the Birmingham based pewtersmiths have been in business since the end of the 18th century. I spent a day photographing their craftsmen at work, documenting all the stages of pewter manufacture. These artisans made fantastic portraits and it’s great to see that their skills will be kept alive for years to come.

Boadicea the Victorious are a luxury perfume brand who have a had an association with Harrods since 2008. They recently opened an exclusive new concession in the stores Salon de Parfums and Boadicea commissioned me to photograph the interior. The only opportunity I had was a night shoot when the store was closed, it was amazing to wander around such an iconic place without a soul in sight.

At Bodrhyddan Hall’s ‘No Man’s Land’ event I had the opportunity to photograph these portraits of World War 1 re-enactors. There were soldiers dressed as the British, German, French, Hungarian and Belgium armies. Each society prides themselves in their authenticity and aim to make the uniforms and camps as accurate as possible.

The biofuel company Aggregated Micro Power also invests in new clean energy projects. They required a set of images of the City of London that they could use for their investment arm of the business on brochures and digital. We spent an evening capturing all the landmarks of the City’s growing skyline.
