THE PER F EC T M AT C H OBJECTIVE To rebrand a non-profit organization and tell their story through printed & digital materials SOLUTION Rocket Dog Rescue is a non-profit organization based in San Francisco that is dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned dogs from euthanasia, and high-kill shelters. I chose the title “Freddie Loves To Play” because it automatically makes you think, “Who the heck is Freddie?”. I wanted the overall tone and voice to be engaging, ambiguous, friendly with a bit of quirkiness. I chose interesting full bleed images to attract the eyes. The concept of my book was to have a companion service for people looking for dogs that fit to their needs. The book features success stories of perfect matches. Think of it like Match.com, only it’s not a dating service, obviously.

iPAD APPLICATION The idea behind the Rocket Rescue app is to make the viewers wonder what’s behind each word. Once the word of their choice is clicked, it will automatically show which dog shares the same interests.

WHO’S SI DE AR E Y OU ON? OBJECTIVE To create a brand of beer inspired by your favorite novel SOLUTION Rivalry is a beer beverage line inspired by one of my favorite novels called “The Outsiders” by S. E. Hinton. If you’re unfamiliar with this book, it follows two rival groups, the Greasers and the Socs, who are divided by their socioeconomic status. I wanted to find something that truly represented the two rival groups and also separated them from each other. That is where the detail of the two labels come into place. The background of the label for Socs Lager shows the textured fabric of a letterman jacket and the leather of a Greasers jacket. I chose a bold and audacious look to portray the recklessness of the characters from the book. The red color symbolizes power and aggression. Rivalry is directed towards men and women in their early 20’s that dare to be wild and reckless. Live fast, die young. Cheers! ALWAYS R EM EM B ER ED, NEV E R FO RGO T T E N OBJECTIVE To create an event poster for Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) SOLUTION Day of the Dead is a Mexican Holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and is acknowledged around the world in other cultures. It is a day to celebrate, remember and prepare special foods in honor of those who have departed. I wanted the overall look and feel to be spirited and charming. In the western culture, skulls usually depict, dark, macabre and gruesome death, but in Mexico, skulls symbolize death in a positive manner. Since this event is about celebrating lives, I wanted to use nice, vibrant colors to represent love and admiration. The type lockup was justified and implied for a clean look. The watercolor-like element gives it beautiful, vivid and expressive touch. Always remember those who’ve passed. Never forget. OBJECTIVE To rebrand an existing company identity SOLUTION I chose to create a new brand identity for Sony corporation. I wanted to design a new logo with a fresh new look. I chose a rounded typeface because I felt that the softness of the type makes it feel more inviting and friendly. The small circles play off the letter “O” in the word “Sony”. The top half of circles represent the consumers and the bottom half represent Sony. The idea behind the circles was to represent unity. The green and blue colors were chosen for a fresh and contemporary feeling. Let your imagination become your reality! OBJECTIVE To create a poster, brochure and tickets for an exposition SOLUTION ECOGLAM Cosmetics bridges the gap between natural and high fashion cosmetics and brings you a truly natural blend of bio-active mineral makeup with the fabulous, organic infused, highly pigmented color palette girls crave. For this project, I created a poster, brochure and CD for an ECOGLAM exposition. I chose a simplistic, elegant and feminine look to capture the essence of aesthetic appeal. The outlined mixture of overlapping typography and imagery create a clean, natural and delicate look which is what the brand is all about. Feel beautiful! FOR THE LOV E OF HI P HOP OBJECTIVE To create a magazine that caters to hip hop fans SOLUTION Hip Hop Realm is a magazine based on the world of hip hop, music, entertainment and it’s culture. It provides the fresh and latest music, trends, T.V, news/media and lifestyle in the hip-hop industry. The inspiration for this magazine came from my love for hip-hop music. For the overall look of the magazine, I wanted to capture the essence of hip-hop’s visual style. The sans serif type was chosen for a modern and direct look. Hip hop will never die, yo! I wanted the overall look of the book to be light-hearted, simple and clean. The color blue was chosen to represent the sky and meanings of trust, loyalty and faith, which is what relationships are all about. I wanted to keep the traditional atmosphere of the restaurant but also give it a more rugged and grungy feel. The logo has a fun, bold and lively personality to it, which was intended for energetic folks who enjoy sports, food and great quality beer. OBJECTIVE To create a branded house for a grocery store SOLUTION I wanted to create a modern and local urban grocery store that focuses on quality, loyalty and a unique shopping experience with environmentally-concious packaging design. Central is located in the heart of San Francisco. The idea behind the pinpoint was for this store to be the center of all your shopping needs. The sans serif type is thought to embody simplicity. I wanted the typeface to be direct and precise. The mood and feeling of the type also is associated with modern, friendly, clean and minimal. Living starts here!
