The NEXT Medical Offices have locations in the Norhwest region of the United States. This additional office is located in Seattle, WA, which is known for it’s great music scene. Some of the major themes of the Seattle music scene are promoting the toleration of differences, creating a positive atmosphere, and enthusiasm. Creating an environment that is tolerant of differences and promotes positivity is important in any healthcare space. In order to create an environment that embodies this, the style of this period will resonate throughout the space.

The education zone is multifuncional. Two walls are entirely made of white boards that one person can use by themselves, or multiple people can gather for a meeting. A media wall allows for doctors or employees to come together and present new information in a larger, more stimulating area. The step seating provides a more relaxed area for employees to get away from their desk during the day.

This booth is located off of the open office and workcafe. The purpose of it was to create more private spaces for the employees to work and focus on the task at hand. It faces the large windows on the exterior of the building bringing in daylight and giving the employees a view of downtown Seattle. NEXT Booth Elevation 18

Client:

Lyncoln Pearson was a fashion design student in her last semester at Iowa State working on her final senior project. As a designer, she was striving to create a fashion line that was derived from the term serenity-- “The state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled. An oasis of serenity amidst the bustling city. Her line was inspired by the sunset and nature, using her clothing pieces as a canvas with handmade images on them. She wanted to combine organic images with triangular shapes in the images on her clothing. In her store, she wanted her customers to feel comfortable and excited about the experience her clothing provides.

Shopper:

Zara Larson is 26 years old and is just beginning her career in Fashion Buying and Marketing. She loves shopping at stores like Urban Outfitters and Misguided. When shopping she looks for pieces that can be utilized in both her professional and social world. She also has a blog that expresses her style and personality which is important in her career. 19

Concept:

To create a design influenced by the serenity felt at the end of the day when in the stillness of the sunset and the transition experienced when going into a new day. Focusing on the transitional lifestyle the customer has, the way the world matures and evolves each day is representative of how a young woman matures into her professional career. These two will merge together to best connect with the customers of the store.

Mezzanine Level Floor Plan Incorporating the Pop Bar in our design was important to the concept of connecting our client’s old and new lifestyles in California and Rome. Pop Bars serve yogurt or gelato popsicles that can be dipped in chocolate along with other toppings.
