PROJECT 01 FORM MAKING & DERIVATION

THE TWO MAQUETTES These are two maquattes that created based on the basic elements of points,lines and planes.

The satay sticks and strings are represent lines and the cardboards show as the planes.

THE NINE VOLUMES we need to come out with 9 forms, these forms need to be at the exact same place of plane in the second maquette . We could add planes in order to come out with volumes, the height of other planes are not limited as long as one of the plane reach the maximum height. The maximum height are 4cm, 8cm and 12cm for each row.

AN EXPERIMENT WITH SCALE PAPER OBJECTS ❏ Paper Chairs ❏ Paper Human ❏ Paper Trees

Description For this image, the model represents a building.

The people standing in the middle of the house in the image could easily enter the house as there still have some distance between the ceiling and the individual's head. The chair beside the individual is fit for him/her to sit. The plant beside is slightly higher than the chair which is almost reaching the salient roof.

Besides, the inner space on the right side of the house, we could see another individual who has half-height of the first person could fit in the space which has a lower ceiling, and beside the individual, there’s a chair which also has the same scale of him/her.

Description This model is represent a house which has a balcony. The people is standing on the balcony with the same scale of chair beside him/her.

The tree grows on the right side of the house is higher than the house which shows in the image.

On the left side of the image, there’s a tree that grows outside the house which has double the height of the house.

The right part on the image is explain in the first figure, the purpose to showing in this image is to compare the objects including the model and the difference scale objects with the new add on objects. As you can see, the biggest add on tree is double the scale of the tree behind the model and the person standing beside the tree together with the chair are having the same scale as the biggest tree. As you can see, the the chair is slightly higher the model.

I came out with a new layout for my paper objects together with the casting model. Since my casting model is not that big compare to others, I draw my casting model in the scale of 2:1 ( I requested and permitted by lecturer), but the paper objects I stay with their original physical size, which could say they are in the scale of 1:1.

PROJECT 03 TREE PAVILION

DESIGN STATEMENT My tree pavilion is built based on the almond tree, it created spaces that link to activities related to the almond tree. The roof of this pavilion is hollow which the almond will drop down from the tree and went through the polycarbonate curved roof, the almond will drop on a curve container, the user could eat the almond and enjoy the scenery of the blooming of almond tree as the polycarbonate curved roof is transparent and the flowers will drop on it and come out with very beautiful scenery which bring happiness to the user. The hull of almond will left and it could use as a biofuel, it help the campfire area light the fire.
