Rainy River CFA Newsletter DISTRICT NEWS
C-K President Jacques Tetreault presented the 2013 ChathamKent bursary award to Joshua Dreise.
About 20 people came out to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Rainy-River district as part of the Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario in the Emo CRC on Sept. 27. The evening began with a BBQ supper after which some of the past presidents reminisced about the past and the issues that were current at the time. CFFO president Lorne Small also spoke about current issues and the perspective that the federation comes from.
The CFFO convention is coming up soon, Wednesday Nov. 13th, the program looks very interesting with two significant speakers. The day is also a great social time to catch up with other members and see what is happening in their area. There is still plenty of room to attend.

FEDERATION NEWS Christian Farmers Federation of Comments on Bill 36, Local Food Act
The Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario (CFFO) wishes to thank the committee for considering the comments of our organization on Bill 36, Local Food Act, 2013. The Christian Farmers Federation represents over 4,300 farmers across the province of Ontario. The CFFO supports the approach being fostered by the current draft that seeks to encourage education, awareness, and promotion of Ontario grown food over a regulatory approach, yet we see the opportunity for the Local Food Act to do more to help create sustainable local food systems in this province. To read the entire document, go to the CFFO Policy Page on the website
