ANNUAL MEETING "On the first day there shall be a holy convocation . . . (Exodus 12:16)

When Old Testament Israel got together, they set apart themselves and the day for celebrating God and for having fellowship together. It is our privilege, as an Association of churches, to do the same. Morningside Baptist Church (Chris Harrington, Pastor) is hosting the AASBC Annual Meeting (September 9; 5 PM - 7 PM). Main presenter Dr. Dan Hayden is an international conference speaker, author, and Bible expositor. He is the director of biblical research and education at Sola Scriptura, a teaching ministry associated with The Scriptorium, Center for Biblical Antiquities and the Van Kampen Collection of biblical texts and artifacts. His workshops, seminars, and teaching ministries have enriched tens of thousands. Also the Annual Meeting features a business session (5 PM), the Praise Team of Christ Church of Metro Atlanta (6 PM, during the worship hour), and a time of fellowship with light refreshments (7 PM). The meeting is free to all who attend. Please see the attached flyer and Dr. Dan Hayden's biographical page for additional information. Dan's topic is Perilous Days from 2 Timothy 3. See you there!

NEXT EVENTS!!! SEPTEMBER 6 - ATLANTA PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER PASTOR'S TRAINING & BREAKFAST EVENT (Is there healing in the church for Post-abortion pain?): Thursday, September 6, 2012 (8:00 AM) at the APRC facility at 3983 Lavista Road #108 Tucker, GA 30084. Call ASAP to reserve your spot (770) 723-0772. From the APRC: "Grief, pain, and shame accompany abortion, and 1 of every 4 women sitting in church pews made the desperate decision to abort their child. Can these women turn to the church for answers and counsel? Is there hope, forgiveness and healing available in your church for women experiencing the aftermath of abortion? APRC invites you to gain greater understanding of the destructive spiritual after-effects of abortion. As a Pastor, you can create an atmosphere of openness and love for women and men who deeply grieve and regret the loss of their children through abortion." APRC will introduce Kim Ketola, author, speaker, and media communicator who personally knows the life-long results of abortion. She has recently published, "Cradle My Heart," a book that "With candid honesty helps readers heal from the suffering after abortion." (a statement by Georgette Forney, Co-founder of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign). Kim Ketola is a writer and broadcaster with more than thirty years of journalism experience in both the general market and for Christian radio. She is now dedicated to helping others connect in faith to God, especially after abortion. APRC will be serving a catered breakfast and providing a tour of APRC at 8 AM sharp. Register now for this event on Thursday morning, September 6th (from 8 AM-9AM). SEPTEMBER 9 - AASBC ANNUAL MEETING: At Morningside Baptist Church (5 PM - 8 PM). About Dan Hayden:

Dan Hayden's heartbeat is a deep desire to see people engage God's Word with their hearts and minds. A Word from the Word derives its purpose from that passion. Each power-packed feature helps us understand and more fully comprehend the full meaning of Scripture - by taking it word for word and applying it to our lives and experience. Dr. Hayden is among those whom you could call uniquely gifted of God. With the ability to communicate difficult biblical concepts in ways that are easy to follow, one comes away from his teaching with a broader, more complete understanding of biblical truths and themes. His keen intellect, down to earth humor, and clear speaking skills make him a joy to listen to and read. With endless enthusiasm for Bible study and ministry, he is always approachable, and his affable personality makes you an instant friend. Dan obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wheaton College in Illinois, and for a time worked as a surgical technician at Children's Hospital in Chicago. He planned to go on to medical school, but then felt the call to ministry and redirected his studies to Dallas Theological Seminary where he went on to earn a Master's in Theology. Additionally, Dan completed a Doctor of Ministries from Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. After many years of serving as a pastor and Bible college professor, Dan launched Truth in Grace Ministries and began producing the daily two-minute feature, A Word from the Word, which has aired on hundreds of radio stations and is a popular internet podcast. He has authored several books and has produced numerous audio and video Bible study resources. Dan Hayden is the director of biblical research and education at Sola Scriptura, a teaching ministry associated with The Scriptorium, Center for Biblical Antiquities and the Van Kampen Collection of biblical texts and artifacts. He and his wife, Karilee, have two grown children and eleven grandchildren. They live in Orlando, Florida.
