Just Walking

if you're already enjoying regular walks, that's fantastic. You're reducing your risk of developing certain illnesses and you're keeping yourself happy and healthy. A silent prayer while you walk will keep your soul happy and fill with joy and peace all over the day!

Brisk Walking All walking is good for you, but brisk is best - especially for your heart and lungs. Brisk walking makes your heart beat faster, makes your breathing deeper and gives you a warm glow. Lots of people start slowly and build up to a brisk pace as they go. Then they slow down towards the end and finish off with a gentle pace. Try taking the 'Talk Test' - you should still be able to have a conversation while you're walking. So take a friend for a walk!

Running becomes a routine when walking turns as one’s character. It requires lots of energy, consistency, preservarance. Because the track is stretched even to the horizons sometimes, that you can’t see the end. The tracks are sometimes straight, sometimes curved and bent, sometimes you have friends to run along, and parents and loved ones to run with, and sometimes you need to run the race alone. But remember, both the sides are green and the sun will cause no harm. The Master, Trainer, the Coach is crazy about you. His eyes are on you. He assures that His presence, His support, His lead is all along the race. So don’t get discouraged, don’t feel down, when there comes a steep inclination, where you need to toil, there also comes a declined track when you’ll enjoy the race, there are also plains to make you gain energy. Be assured the Master is watching your race. So never give up, never give in. Run, Run until the race is done!

“First, love what you like to do, and second, do what you love to do”, are the words of wisdom from Bill Gaither of the Gaither Music. No matter what the outcome may be. No matter no one listens, no one cares about your works; no one appreciates, nor considers your works to be in par with the so called Industry standards. Just do it. Do it because you love it. As you start to do what you want to do, you would be a novice. Don’t worry, learn the fundamentals, get formal education, and continue your works. As days, months and sometimes years go by, you’ll notice that you have improved a lot. Don’t forget to keep practicing, producing some prototypes, show them to your mentors, or likeminded friends, and get their suggestions. Sometimes, you’ll get worst feedbacks and criticisms. Don’t let them stop you. Do a little more research and continue to do better, this time. Above all keep around you honest people or friends who’ll think as you think, and who’ll truly wish you the best success in life. Keep them near you. Remember God is there watching what you do, looking deep into your hearts, your motives and your desires. If it all pleases Him, then success is yours. Gaither used to say “it is not as good as you thought it would be nor as bad as it was”. So cheer up, do what you love to do, right works in the right way.

Running Away Running To

&

Why should the younger son run away? Where did he run to? Is it not foolish to denounce the luxury of his father’s house? Can he have better happiness than what he finds at home? Criss Robert, a devotionalist, takes the stand of the son who ran away from his father. Yes he has enjoyed the comfort, the luxury of the house, and the love and care of his father’s home. All his year of childhood and youth has been happy and comfort. However, the lust of the flesh, the greed for wealth, the race for fame and many worldly hubs drove this boy crazy. He is smart, has a thirst to search what’s out there in the world, beyond his home, intelligence to question the authenticity and supremacy of his father’s mansion. The father is kind and gentle. He did not stop his son. The door is open to take the course of life, well beyond the father’s sight. He was let to go. More clearly, it is understood, that running away is easy, but the consequences are pathetic. Time, money, talents spent over, everything ran dry from his pockets and his health too. His condition is too ugly to neither accept nor comprehend to the status of being a human. If he chooses to live so, he is always let to live this ugly life. No preacher, no pastor, no singer, no musician, no mentor, none went to him told about his state. None preached him of his repentance. This younger son chooses to repent. It is his choice to rethink about his life in his father’s house. He realized it was his wrong, bad and incorrect decision to have run away from his Father He got up, and decided to go back to his home, his Father’s Home. But his sin-clad face, heart, revolting fleshy decisions, didn’t allow him to raise his eyes to look his Father. He felt sick in soul and in body. The eyes of the Father were fixed on the road awaiting His son’s return. “He will return someday soon”, was His hope. The act of love of the Father when He saw His son on the far end of the road was “He came running to His son.

What a gracious love of the Father! He kept running towards his son as fast as He could, to embrace him, kiss him, and to love him again. The Father did not care for the ugly rug, nor the thin face and dirty shoulders and hands. The Father didn’t wait for His son to reach the house and ask pardon and forgiveness. He just ran to him. Do we love like we are loved? Are we able to forgive those who rejected us and ran away from us? Are we the run away people and run to people? Let’s pray our dear Father to give us wisdom and strength to be like Him, to love as He loves us, to forgive and accept wholly our dear ones who have strayed, as He hurried to welcome us when we returned Home.

Registration Fee: It is a costly and a glorious Race. Definitely you've got to pay a price for it. But we are unworthy people deserving no good. Behold! Jesus has "Paid for ALL by shedding His precious blood for us to enter into this Christian Marathon Track. God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5.8)You were bought at a price (1 Cor :6.20).

Because the entry is free of cost, it doesn’t mean it is cheap. The Blood of Christ is the ultimate Mercy of God shown to mankind. Accepting Jesus (The Only Savior) and Accepting who you are (A Sinner) qualifies you for the Race..Those who don’t want to run this race have already decided doom to destruction. He who believes in Him (Jesus) is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already (John 3:18.). Be washed in the Blood! Get ready for the race! On your Mark! Get set! and Go!

Guidelines to reach the Goal:

Pre-Requisite to Run the Race

Do not disqualify by running into other man's track: God has a unique plan for every individual. Do not copy the decision and life style of others. This can lead to miss the will of God in your life. He has beautifully designed you in your mother's womb for a specific purpose.

Leave your burden: In Mathew 11:28 Jesus says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and i will give you rest”. Cast your burdens unto Him. Don’t carry them. If you carry it, you will not feel free to run. The son has set you free. You are free indeed! Never turn back: Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead is important in the race. Bygones are bygones. Don’t meddle with the past. Don’t allow the past to ruin your joy in Christ. Everything is New in the race. Dress Code: Wear godliness TIGHT; EXPOSE your INWARD BEAUTY!! 1 Peter 3:3 - 4 says ,Do not let your beauty be that outward but let it be the hidden person of the heart with incorruptible ornament of a gentle and quiet spirit which is very precious in the sight of God.

Know Your Co-runners Many runs with you, like..True Christians, so called Namesake Christians, Critic Christians, Hypocrite Christians, Cult Christians, Worldly Christians, Carnal Christians and not to forget the Servants of God true & false who are running the race with you..These corunners can benefit or be a stumbling block. Bad company corrupts good habit. They would distract and mislead to lose your track. Beware to chose your spiritual company! Know them by their fruits..Choose to be with people who can motivate, edify and inspire you to live a holier life.

Motto of the Race “I press on that I may lay hold of that for which Christ has also laid hold of me" - Philippians 3:12. “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus"- Philippians 3:14.

Follow the Rules and Regulations: II Timothy 2:5 says, "And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules". Today’s youngster funnily say "Rules are meant to Break"..But if you really Love God, you will find difficult to break His rule. His rule is a Commandment of love, it is the Word of God which warns you and protects you from the upcoming evil.If you break the commandment, and then it is to your devastation you do it.

Success is fulfilling willingly what He has planned for you. Look only to Jesus, the Author and the Finisher of your faith. No other role models other than Him who has laid down His footsteps before us to follow...The spirit of God will ensure that you are in the right track/path. Strengthen your Inner Man with daily doses of Spiritual Glucose in abundance without any side effects: Glucose A -Holy Spirit will inspire and energize you to run effectively, Glucose B -Meditate on the Word of God.

Marathon with a Torch Your torch is the testimony which should glow throughout the race. Just holding the torch is not enough. Being stagnant is very dangerous. Stagnant water stinks; stagnant life kills. Run for Jesus against the tides. This light in you will draw many who dwell in the darkness to the Glorious light (Jesus). Pull people with your life style. Actions speak louder than words. The fire in the torch should shine till the end. Do not quench it with the cares of this world, deceitfulness of riches, lust of the eye, lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Let your light/testimony so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Mathew 5:16). Winner of the Race is not the first comer, but who he reaches. All who reaches the finish line are the winners! Mathew 24:13 says, "But the one who endures to the end will be saved". Let us run with patience and endurance, the race that is set before us! Game is all about surviving till the end! "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him."-James 1:12.

Run the Race The creator of heaven and earth, who created us in His image, wants us to run the spiritual race according to His will and with perseverance. Are we running in the track the Lord has set for us? Are we able to maintain the pace? Do we feed our inner man regularly to clear the obstacles? In this article, let us see how we can run steadily throughout the race. We’ll throw light on five points…

Justin A. Raj is working with Infosys Ltd,

Run with perseverance (Hebrews 12:1-3) Since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Let us analyze what are things that hinder us to run this journey steadily. Is it job/ studies/ materials/ money / etc.? Are our eyes fixed on Jesus? If not, let us reset our focus on Jesus, know the will of God and run.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world (Romans 12:2) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. The target- crown of life can be realized only if the runner completes the race according to the will of God. Then only hurdles can be overthrown during the race. Jesus submitted himself to the will of God and gave His life to redeem us. He ran the race successfully that was set by the heavenly Father and has been waiting to crown us in heaven. Are we prepared to receive the crown?

Run the race with Spirit( 2 Corin. 4: 8-10) Paul says - We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. Do not lose your heart at the time of troubles. Surrender yourself to the Holy Spirit who renews your heart and mind with new strength and helps you in running the race set for you steadily.

Listen closely when you run (Proverbs 4:20-23) My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight; keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart for everything you do flows from it. Maintain good spiritual health by meditating and following the word of God every day.

Wear the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-17) Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Let us run the race with Jesus and Holy Spirit and receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised. As Philippians 3:14-15 says, please keep this verse in heart during the race “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”.

C-Talk Justus talks with Shri. Retnamony about his life and his run. Know how he runs the race to serve the society

Dear Uncle, Warm greetings to you from all of us at Chordiels Music. Thank you. Welcome to all of you from Chordiels Music.

It’s our pleasure to invite you to C-talk for this issue of the Chordials Music. I am happy to meet your readers through this talk.

Shri. Retnamony Daniel, we call him Uncle Retnamony, was introduced to us by our dear friend Jerald. One evening they came for a recording to Handel Studios. It was a voice recording for Vincent D’Paul Society. We were moved to tears when Uncle enthusiastically climbed through the steps to our Studios in the first floor. His legs from below the hip are completely functionless. It was by an accident, he was hurt on the spine, paralyzing his legs. The best part is his motivation, his enthusiasm in running for others, for the people around him in his society. He is the real athlete. Know more about him from C-Talk. Really encouraging.

Where did your journey ‘to serve ‘started?. Tell us about your early years and how you started loving what you are doing now. “To serve” Mark 10:45 says “For the Son of man did not come to be served but to serve”. He taught us to follow Him. These words touched me late. Till the year 1984 just like some ordinary people I would do my job and care my family. For any problem, official or personal I would visit the Blessed Sacrament and pray to the Lord. In the year 1984 I was transferred to Thirunelveli and my family was in Chennai. As usual I was praying before the Blessed Sacrament for a specific favor, that is, transfer to Chennai. In a serene atmosphere of the church I heard a voice in my innermost heart “what you have you done for me? “This question repeatedly echoed in me. Yes. Till that time I was thinking about me and my family and not others. When I was thinking on these lines, an announcement in the church by the parish priest made me to become a member of the society of St. Vincent De Paul. We started visiting the poor and the marginalized people at their place of residence mostly thatched homes, we seldom use the word huts, providing them with food, clothing, shelter, education of the children, medical assistance. Through marital counseling broken families are united. In short none of the service to humanity is alien to our society.

What do you say this? A call from God or a call from the cries of the society? Surely and with no doubt, it is the call from God during my prayer before the Blessed Sacrament in the church.

Tell us about your family. Without their support you couldn’t be doing this better. My family consists of my wife and two children. Mother Teresa used to say the merit of the charity/service is that it should pinch you. My sailing was also not smooth in the initial years.

How did this accident happen to you?

As our children were young my wife had some reservation on this service. She did not show openly. On my agenda, Sunday is allotted for the church and service to the poor. Every Sunday morning we used to go to church in my motorcycle. After Holy Mass my wife and my children return home by walk. We the members of the society attend a meeting after the Holy Mass in the church, which may last for 45 minutes, start visiting homes till 1 PM One Sunday it so happened that my wife forgot to take the home key, which she realized only on return from the church. One key was with me. No cell phone, she had no chance of contacting me till I return home after 1 PM. Children are hungry and crying, neighborhood not familiar in those days. She has not taken the purse as well so as to get something eatable from shop; all this put her in frustration. From 10.30 AM to 1pm she imagined so many things. Finally she got an idea of telling me like this on my return. “You people why do you get married, have wife and children?. I shall get you five meters of white cloth, stitch a cassock, go and stay with the priests in the church. Don’t think of home and family” Exactly at 1PM somebody was knocking the gate. A girl was standing there, first my wife could not recognize her. The girl introduced her as the past student of my wife. The girl told her mother’s desire to give good food to her teachers family on a special occasion as a gratitude. The basket was filled with delicious food, plantain, sweet, papad etc. Children started eating. My wife’s originally coined words were melting away so to say forever. When I returned by 1.15PM my wife welcomed me with a hug and smilingly said “God did a miracle today. When you go for the cause of God’s children, God takes care of all His children “. Her perception on life was totally changed.. Now my children are settled. My wife accompanies me where ever I go.

This is another miracle, otherwise I would not have been here to see you, and God sent people. On 31st July 1996 morning I was rushing to my office in an auto. The auto clashed with a bull and capsized, I fell face downward and the auto was seated on my back. The auto driver ran away. I was motionless; people thought I was dead and waiting for the police to take for postmortem. I was immersing and a thought of my wife and children came and I felt I was leaving them. People said they heard a sound came from me calling “Amma”. Then they removed the auto from my back and rushed me to a nearby hospital. On knowing the impact of the accident, doctor wondered how my chest ribs were saved. When I fell face downward the Cross in the Rosary, I was wearing, was touching my chest near the heart and it was blood stained with no other sign of external injuries. The MRI showed no damage. The love and compassion of our Lord Jesus on the Cross saved my life, so to say extended my life. After two years, my body symptoms and conditions proved that the accident was no ordinary. After I recovered from the accident, I lost the functionality in my legs, but God has saved my life to serve the people around me and tell His love to everyone I meet. The parish priest offered me the chance of preaching a relevant portion of the encyclical letter every Sunday before the Holy Mass in our parish church. I also preached about the miracle for fifty two Sundays without any break, in-spite of my official outstation works and engagements. One of the miracles says that the Queen of France gave her daughter a Rosary as the only jewel that helped her to save her chastity and life from the evil one. On that day onwards I started wearing a Rosary and I believe that miracle also worked for me to save my life. My remaining life is only for Him.

We are so encouraged when we see you run ahead of us, to accomplish your missions. We are all running and do not know who is running ahead. Can anyone dare to say as St. Paul said “I have completed my run?”

Tell us about some of your works contributed to the church and the congregation. Training on Vatican Counsel II, emphasizing the role of Laity in the church was given to selected believers in the Madras and Mylapore `Diocese for a period of two years. I had the opportunity to undergo the training, which resulted in the formation of parish counsels in the churches. I served as vice president and secretary on different periods. Then basic communities called Anbiams were started in the parishes by which sharing and fellowships flourished in the parish churches.

Your works for the society… Empowering women is the priority issue. Better changes in the Society can be achieved by empowering women. Alcoholism is the greatest menace in families. Family relationships are disintegrated. In order to protect and guide women, groups are formed. This is gaining momentum. We are planning to organize rally in and around Tambaram and Chingleput shortly.

You are associated with St. Vincent De Paul society also. Tell us about that Sir. Society of St. Vincent De Paul was started in the year 1833 in Paris by Blessed Antony Frederic Ozanam, a law college student, at the age of twenty along with five youngsters.. It is an international lay organization spreading over 150 countries, helping the needy by providing food, clothing, housing, education, medical assistance etc. No service to humanity is alien to the society of St. Vincent De Paul.

What is your message to our readers, in the “run your race “perception? How can we, the citizens of the society run? We live to serve. Serve to whom? Serve the Lord. He is present in the suffering humanity. When we open up our hearts we can hear His voice in our soul. Let us practice to see things through the eyes of our soul. Every moment God is speaking to us. He is showing the way where we have to go; what we have to do. This is personal encounter with Jesus Christ. Look the passion of Christ and strictly follow what is said in Luke 6 : 27—38; if anything could not do, ask His Grace. We can do nothing without Him.

We are so happy to learn from your shared experiences and have a friend who is there to motivate us to keep running in the race. Yes… Friend in need is friend indeed! Jesus is our motivator, friend and philosopher. He called us to follow Him daily with our cross. Without cross we cannot follow Him. Cross is not a burden but a pleasure; cross is the symbol of victory.

Chordiels Music is pleased to having talked with you and wishing to join with you in your society works. We welcome all of you to join us in the society’s work to find out the different dimensions of poverty and try to eliminate them. Values of life eroded, join us to teach the infants and children the values of life.

Thank you very much, Sir. Thank you all very much for choosing me to be with you.

“ Loving God and loving each other “ is what Jesus taught us. You live this Sir. Yes. These are the short and sweet two commandments of God. Unless we love our neighbor we cannot love God. Loving neighbor should be seen in action and not simply on words.

Warm-ups and Warm-Downs SPORT: Warm ups are very important for any games or sport. The body tissues, muscles, blood flow and bones are slowly strengthened and prepared for a good play. It also prepares the mind psychologically to get focused on the game. Warm downs are also equally important to calm down the body to normal state after the game. Make it relaxed

MUSIC: Warm ups in vocal, or any instrument playing are vital. It makes the vocal cords, larynx, diaphragm, and abdomen grow in strength and prepares them for a great singing. Pianists, Guitarists, Violinists and any instrumentalists also do warm-ups. Warm-downs are often neglected in music. Specific vocal warm-downs are available and practicing them will keep your voice healthy

Perfection SPORT: A 100-meter track even measures just only 100 meters, not more or less. A javelin throw measure is accurate. A gymnastics exercises are clean and perfect. Perfect landing, perfect snatch in weight-lifting, perfect shot in cricket, and so many perfects in sports are flawlessly appreciated.

MUSIC: A perfect pitch, perfect rhythm, perfect timing of rests, and perfect music performance. These are not attained overnight. Practice brings perfection. Musicians, vocalists, instrumentalists work hard for perfectionisms in all their works. And that gets a great applause, and lasts in the hearts.

Regular Practice SPORT: One cannot play a sport or a game after a six-month vacation or a break. Your mind and your body would have forgotten the skills you have developed over the years in that break. So practice, practice regularly

MUSIC: You even cannot hum a tune after a week’s break. Your vocals and your brain would restrict to respond to the instructions. To be back on track, you need more than a week’s time. So practice, practice regularly.

Balanced Diet SPORT: Eat well and healthy. Food product containing proteins, carbohydrates, calcium, and vitamins all balanced in everyday’s diet is the best advice from dieticians to Sportspersons. This provides necessary stamina, perseverance and consistency in their performance.

MUSIC: Eat well, but be sensible. Your dishes should contain a balanced share of everything from apple to water, but make sure that your esophagus or your stomach is not acidic, nor burning, leading you to uncomfortable posture while performing. Can chew a gum before a concert, to make relax your larynx and neck muscles, and to keep to smell good.

Run with Assurance

As told by Shri. N. Jothipandian to his Kids and Grandkids. He is a retired Southern Railway Engineer, now lives with his family, kids and grandkids, teaching and guiding them in the light of the Lord.

Don’t forget to “obey your Parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.” Col 3:20. Dear Children, I have seen you run here and there and play around the house when you were kids. You fall down, get hurt and cry. Me and your Mom would come hurriedly to you to lift you up and apply medicines to your wounds and calm you down. We have also strengthened you to run again. Now you are grownups, we see that you run after your kids, and run your own race of life. Here are a few thoughts I would like to help you strengthen when you halt or fall while you run your race of life. Run with Temperament: Run leaving all your belongings behind. Belongings are your worldly affections, lust, greed, jealous, and all characters that are bad and have bad intentions. Observe any athlete, they will run without taking anything in your hands or over their shoulders. They are disciplined. We also are supposed to run this race with Christian discipline, in the foot-steps of Christ. So run with temperament the race assigned for you. Gal 5:24 25 says “And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passion and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit”. Run over the Obstacles: Sure you will have obstacles on your way. Financial problems, family issues, health problems, education needs, home needs, personal war with the flesh, neighbors, and many more will come your way to stop you from running. Don’t loose heart. Run over them. Ask God to help you overcome these problems, and give you strength and make you strong to run through these weaknesses and obstacles. Also the Word is your strength, read it every day and night.

Run with assurance: Be assured that the Lord is with you in your journey. He knows your strengths and weaknesses, so He is strengthening you by His commands. Psalmist says “I run this: not with uncertainty but assuredly. I will run the way of your commandments”. Psalms 119:30. Understand the commandments of the Lord before your start your race, so that you shall run and not be weary. Isa 40:31. Run with loving each other, forgiving each other, and encouraging each other: this is the true practical Christian way of life. Run to Win: Let your race be not in vain. Run with an objective, with focus, and with perseverance. Everyone is running for the prize, and you are also called to win the prize, the Eternal life crowned with glory. Run till the end, and that is eligibility to get a prize. Don’t waver, don’t settle down for less, don’t compromise, let your race be pleasing to everyone around you and to the Lord. In that way you win hearts and souls, and your eternal crown. “Lest by any means I might run, or had run in vain” Gal 2:2. We must have revelation to preach the Gospel, and do all things without murmuring or complaining. Do this without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as light in the world, holding fast the Word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain nor labored in vain. Phil 2:14-16. May God Bless you all, and the grace of God enriches you to be blessed in all our races we run through Christ. – Amen.

When we started Chordiels, we didn’t think of publishing these many Music Works. God granted us everything we wanted, we sang, recorded our favorites, wrote some music books, helped our co-artists to record , and set them to the audiences. We knew “they are all blessed”. We thank God for using as His instrument of blessings to others, as we run this race of music. We foresee the coming years would bring many more great songs and great music.

From Unforgiveness to

Forgiveness

Today all of us have depression, anxiety, sadness, anger, hopelessness, fatigue, negative emotional effects of experiences of hurt. Some of us might experience child sexual abuse, verbal abuse, hurts from spouses, relatives, neighbors. Even from these things will happen thru some unknown people in the society. The outcome of all these is “Unforgiveness” and “hatred”.

Side effects of Unforgiveness / hatred Unforgiveness is the single most popular poison that the enemy uses against God's people, and it is one of the deadliest poisons a person can take spiritually. It causes everything from mental depression, to health problems such as cancer and arthritis. According to studies, scientists have found that there is a huge relationship between forgiveness and health. Unforgiveness may be directed at someone else or by not forgiving yourself. It is always accompanied by anger and resentment and is a leading cause of many physical ailments, including hypertension, ulcerative colitis, and toxic goiters. Better Health Research shows that resentment and a general lack of forgiveness raises blood pressure, depletes immune systems, and makes you more easily depressed, causing stress to the body.

You Who Stand‌ Prof. V. Immanuel is a Professor of English at Christ University, Bangalore. He is heading the Word for the Winners of Chordiels Music

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he may not fall. The Bible warns us from I Cor.10:12

The victory that we attain during the time of salvation is both permanent and temporary. Do not be confused with this. We are again warned from Mat. 24:13 “But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” To preserve salvation is the duty of every Christian. The tragedy with our lives is that we know that there is a great fall ahead of us, but we just don’t know how to react to an impending failure. It is an undeniable fact that failure is not sudden. It is conceived, nurtured and allowed so much space for. The more a Christian keeps himself close to temptation, the more he is far from God. Consider the gravity of the phrase, “he who thinks he stands...” Is it right to feel good about your strength? But the moment we think that we stand, there are greater possibilities to fall. In a way, it is but pride and “God opposes the proud”. James 4 Constancy in spirituality is lost by two things at least. Prayerlessness and pride. Both are dreadful, subtle, but, everyone denies the both. Prayerlessness is a serious problem. There is a sure failure in it. We believe that we can pray when we walk, when we drive, when we eat or when we are in the restroom and calculate those bits and pieces to satisfy our mind. The mind is satisfied, but the heart is not nourished. Those who really don't find time, ask the Lord to give you a job that will allow you to pray .Ask the Lord to give you a good, isolated place to pray. You can stay in a good house and not pray. It seems o.k as long as we pray while we travel, eat or jog. When you actually sit down to read God’s word and pray, then is the spirit of prayer tested. Jesus said, “Watch and Pray so that you will not fall into temptation” (Mat.26.14) Disappointments are another element that stultifies our spiritual growth. Even sin causes disappointments and guilt. The following chapters have been of tremendous help to me. Romans 8, Isaiah 53, John 17 and II Samuel 22. Just keep reading these chapters and you shall be strengthened again. Ps. 107:20 says , He sent his word and healed them. C.S.Lewis said, it is because of pride that the devil became the devil. Pride offers some sense of buoyancy. It makes us feel so elated. Christians are to be more cautious particularly after a victory. The moment we are ecstatic, then we are not spiritual. Prophesies can be an expression of you personal desire. God's will becomes your perverted interpretation. Visions and dreams and all sorts of extra-terrestrial experiences can be attained if there is subtle pride at heart. God desires that we do not fall. But we do. Ask the Lord to give you a spirit of prayer that you might stand in the day of trouble.
