Data Only a small section of the North Campus Duderstadt Library, which provides data for the Art, Engineering, and various other schools on campus, offers useful information available for the architecture students and faculty. Additional research space is located at a remote facility on Central Campus miles from the architecture building. Objective This is an individual studio project to provide accessible data library and additional studio space to the University of Michigan architecture building. The project site on the northeastern corner of the building is a barren courtyard, therefore is rarely occupied.

DOUBLE GLAZED FACADE

ARCH427

Data With the aid of CRL US Aluminum Curtain Wall Series 3150 and Series 3250 details, a new mullion design is generated to structurally withstand the dead load of glazing and to produce desired aesthetic qualities. The design achieves an illusion of vertically accentuated glazing to the exterior and horizontally accentuated glazing to the interior. Objective This is a three person group construction project to design a double glazed facade upon researching a precedent by architect Peter Zumthor: Kunsthaus Bregenz. My contribution was to produce drawings of mullion details for a collaboratively designed facade.
